This place is the only Asian/mostly Pinoy market in Beaumont and I guess closest to Louisiana…read more With that being said, people from Louisiana come over here to see what they got and stuff. The owner seems really nice and he'll start a conversation with you whenever you check out. All the korean goodies that a review mentioned before were not present when I went. So I guess they just didn't restock them anymore. (FMI) I realized that Beaumont had a handful of Pinoy population just enough to make some nursing associations (2) so that somewhat intrigued me for the moment. This place is worth a visit if you are craving Asian (Pinoy, Viet, Chinese) food. Just don't come here expecting they have Korean goodies.

I've been coming to Debb's Liquor for 25 years, and I thought I'd take a moment to say what a great…read moreplace it is. Frank, the owner, is typically working the store. He's told me many things about great scotches and bourbons, most of which I generally then buy and enjoy! I've also bought many bottles of wine based on the recommendations of Gerald, the store's wine manager. Debbs is a well-run, well-stocked store with pleasant, affable people running it. I've always had a good experience there; the kind of retail experience you can't get from the huge supermarket operations. The pricing is reasonable, the advice is spot-on, and range is all the way from everyday bottles to very high end. I really cannot recommend them enough!

Gerald has hand-picked a great selection of wines and he is perfect for helping you find the bottle you need. Super-nice dude, too. I use each local liquor store differently - I tend to hit up Miller's for craft beer (also because it's right next to my house, and I buy a lot of craft beer) and I head to Debb's on Phelan when I need wine. I go to Sam's Package Store on East Lucas when I'm in the market for liquor, particularly Texas craft liquor. Honestly, though, all three are solid and you can feel confident going to Debb's for craft beer, wine or liquor.

There are a couple of gas station fridges where they keep a few things, ginger beer, a few organics, typical health store fare. I quickly started to peruse through their selection of essential oils, which wasn't extensive either. I had opened a vial of pine oil, not noticing it wasn't a tester bottle, which nearly every health store should be carrying alongside the new bottles. The woman pointed out a small sign under the cabinet that patrons were to buy any oils they opened. I smiled at first thinking shed let me off the hook, but I didn't get that impression from her. I told her she should seriously consider buying the tester bottles, she agreed. I was a lil irritated at this point for being stuck with purchasing an item I wasn't even there for, and wasn't enthusiastic about spending more of my money there. The blaring religious music, some Gregorian nightmare, didn't help. Thankfully, I started chatting with another clerk, a younger woman who was lovely and helpful. I had decided on a bar of tea tree oil soap, which lathered wonderfully, and smelled great. Prices were typical of similar places. I have yet to find another with an equal selection in Jefferson county, besides HEB Plus on Dowlen in Beaumont
