When I returned at 5 PM, they were still not ready. I had to wait a while before finally receiving them. The customer service was unwelcoming, and the prices are on the higher side. Am in between two business trips. Dropped off my clothes on Thursday for a Friday PM pick-up. Confirmed the request twice. Went to pick up the clothes and they were not ready and will not be ready until Monday, long after my flight leaves. Mistakes can be made and that is one thing, but there was a complete lack of customer care or service. The only solution they offered was to "dig out" my clothes from a pile of other dirty clothes and they can't even guarantee when that will be done. Had they offered an apology and a solution such as, we can rush the job and get this done on the fly and seek a special request or even a discount, would have softened the blow. Went to prestige cleaners to drop off a shirt and one curtain to be pressed. I asked the how much each one would cost, there was one shirt I had no problem paying the $3.75 for the shirt and for the curtain was nine dollars. They printed me out two receipts, one for the curtain one for the shirt with the price I would pay on my 2 receipts. When I went to pick them up the man behind the counter (SHAWN GOUSIE) told me the curtain was $36 to be pressed not the $9.00 thats was on my receipt when I dropped it off. I questioned him about the difference and he said the price is the price but I have these receipts I showed him for the $9.00. He started getting evasive with me and rude he couldnt give a straight answer something didnt add up. I don't think I've ever had a more frustrating experience than I recently had with Prestige. Note that I intentionally left "Cleaners" off their name. My tale of woe: My dog, LEGO, peed on 3 drape panels. I brought them to Prestige, pointed out the problem and they assured me they would do their best. 3 weeks later I pick them up, pay $55, and go home. When I get home I notice an undeniable stench of dog pee. So, I undid the plastic sheeting and noticed that the drapes were still soaking wet and smelled like pee. So, I brought them back. They didn't really apologize, and told me they would take a look. 3 weeks pass, I go back, and Holy Sh^$! The drapes are still damp and still smell like pee. The woman at the counter said she would show this to the owner and that he would call me. No call. So, I went back again - 4th time - and they were still wet and smelled like dog pee. I was told basically "tough luck" and get out. I truly felt like I was an idiot based on their treatment. But, since I'm not usually an idiot, I drove over to Alterations Plus in Swansea, told the proprietor Jay my tale of woe, and he said they would do their best. Guess what? Alterations Plus did - actually - do their best. Instead of taking my money and claiming to clean the drapes, they cleaned the drapes. First time. No hassle. Just fast, reliable and outstanding service. That is the exact opposite of Prestige. I suggest that anyone who reads this review stay as far away from Prestige as is possible. I picked up a favorite linen skirt that had multiple stains that were dug in over many years of wear. After they suggested a wet cleaning after a dry cleaning didn't yield the best results, I was happily surprised to see every stain completely gone! They did a GREAT job on my daughter's Uggs! They were so gross - water damaged and salt all over them, due to her wearing them in snow. This was a last effort to see if I could salvage them. I just got them back and they look practically new! All the salt staining is gone, the suede is clean and they look amazing! She was thrilled. We are fairly new in town and have been using Prestige Cleaners for our dry cleaning needs, in part because they are local and have pretty good reviews. Our experience has been nothing but pleasant. They have always been on time with returns, and the staff have always been friendly and hospitable when dropping off. We gave them a relatively difficult sewing order, which they sent out to their tailor, and when it didn't come back as expected, they sent it back out to be fixed, no charge. I rarely ever use dry cleaners - last time was probably four years ago. So I finally grew a little tired of ironing my own dress shirts and decided to give the various dry cleaners of Barrington a try. First up was Prestige Cleaners. I purposely picked out 5 shirts of varying difficulty (including a dress shirt that I, no matter what I did, could never get perfectly crisp) and a pair of pants that had something very odd going on with the cuff that I could never straighten out. Dropped it off on a Tuesday and picked them up on a Thursday afternoon. Service was friendly enough and the quality was excellent. I am currently wearing the trouble shirt and misfit pants and they are perfectly crisp. Well done. I don't know how they compare on price though since I don't normally dry clean. read more

Absolutely atrocious. I had been going here for small cleanings for the past few yrs, dress shirts, etc. I brought in a pair of suede boots, picked them up and saw that they were completely destroyed, discolored and had been dyed a bizarre color after being in decent condition when brought in. I was told it was mine and the manufacturers fault and they weren't dyed. The woman at the counter and over the phone phone proceeded to scream at me when I told her I should've been notified if they weren't going to be able to clean them before proceeding to ruin them. Wasn't given a call by the manager after 4 requests in person and over the phone. Wasn't even offered a refund for the the payment of the so called "cleaning" that I never should've paid. Trashy, rude, and unprofessional service. No way to treat customers in a small town. This dry cleaner has been convenient to me geographically for many years. However, my experience has always been negative, but being a creature of habit I continued to subject myself to their sub-par, over-priced, careless laundry services. I dry clean and have laundry services for all my garments, as well as my wifes, also our household items, table cloths, etc. On average we spend aproximately $500 monthly on these services....I would say we are a good customer. At first I wasn't sure where it came from, but they lose our clothing all the time.....a shirt or two here or there all the time....when dropping off 30-40 sets of clothing each time we drop off we dont usually take our ''tickets'' for the garments and just leave the items there for them to take care of. As the years went on and certain shirts, etc. went missing, I slowly began to realize where the problem came from. When brought up with one of their staff, who no longer works there, I was jokingly told that I was ''crazy''. However, as we continued to use this cleaner, we continued to notice that items went missing....often brand new items or items that might have been desirable to someone with sticky fingers. The reason I would suspect theft is that we never received other peoples clothes, if sometimes we got other people items mixed in I would chaulk it up to error, which is still bad but not as bad as things being stolen. They have also ruined countless garments, including brand new shirts and pants that were going to them for pressing before even being worn for the first time....also one of my favorite suits was damaged and told that it was dropped off in that condition. Anyways, I can not recommend this dry cleaning services, the incompetence and blatant disregard for the customer goes well beyond what I have mentioned here.....I can not believe they are still in business....the owner also does not return phone calls even to customers to who spend $6000-$10,000 annually on cleaning services; it also is not just my experience, we have family friends who have had the same experience with them. I recently had a bad experience at prestige cleaners. I lost my ticket, and because of this, they could not locate my clothes.They typed my name wrong into the computer and there was no record of me having dropped off clothes under my phone number either. Not only that but I went in three times and left my phone number all three times, hoping that the owner would call me. The owner never called. I had to do my own detective work. On the day I dropped off my clothes a friend of mine had I also dropped off her clothes with me. I gave prestige cleaners my friends name. There was no record of her having dropped off clothes on that day either. Then I gave them my friends phone number. Not only did they find my clothes under my friends phone number but they had typed her name in wrong so if she had lost her ticket they would have not been able to locate her clothes either. This place completely sucks and I'm thinking about calling the Better Business Bureau. There is nothing prestigious at all about the customer service here. read more

If you have anything of any value to dry clean, avoid this dry cleaner. I took a St. John women's blazer to be dry cleaned last week. It had pearl embellishments on the pockets and a pearl zipper pull. Retailed over $500.00. The instructions on the jacket say it's fine for dry cleaning, just needs to have the embellishments covered during the process. No one warned me of any issues when I dropped it off or asked me to sign a waiver, they inspected and accepted. Picked it up a few days ago and realized the pearl embellishment at the zipper pull is missing. Called immediately and was told they would "check the lint trap" and call me back...no apology or acknowledgement that they had just ruined the blazer. No follow up, so the next morning I called back and talked to a new person who had no idea about the issue and apparently no one had checked the lint trap or recorded my issue. She was equally non-helpful but said the person who checks the lint trap was gone for the day, but she'd get back to me the next day. Two days later after no follow up, I called back and asked immediately to speak with the manager. Was told she won't be in until Monday. I will be following up next week in person, but at this stage and based on other reviews where this dry cleaner has ruined valuable items without any responsible action, I did not want to delay posting this review. Small claims and better business bureau are my next steps. This is inexcusable. read more

I have been going to Prestige for years, since they have recently moved, the service is no where near what it was. The customer service people are not knowledgeable at all. Case in point. I had brought in 2 white 100% cotton woman's shirts. I always get medium starch on a hanger. When I went to pick them up today, firstly I got someone else's dry cleaning.When I finally got my 2 shirts the cost was $8.20!! I said for 2 shirts, you had to make a mistake it no way costs me that much. Evidently, the incompetent man, John, who had taken my cleaning, indicated that I wanted them dry cleaned! I discussed it with the staff there and I got the robotic answer"Well I don't know what to do that's what it says here". Would prefer to post zero stars for this outfit. They ruined faux fur on 2 expensive garments then denied they even touched the part of the garment that was ruined (fried the faux fur). The owner did not return my request for a call and did not have the courtesy to address my complaint in person although he was in the back of the store when I came in. Instead, he sent a very rude/argumentative lady to deal with me, who at first blamed the manufacturer for improper instructions (the problem was not the manufacturer's instructions, btw), and then claimed the fur was not touched (although the dry cleaner tag remained on the collar). When I asked how the damage happened, she disclaimed any responsibility and stated that they were too busy to worry about one customer's issue. I commented that I was disappointed a local business would operate in this way and that I would not recommend Prestige to anyone in the future. Her reply..., "well, that's your choice". I wonder... if they were less busy, would they care more? I am a cabi stylist, and I will replace this garment and make it right for my customer. That's what small business owners should do... because a customer's satisfaction does matter.
