walked in knowing there was gonna be a wait, was told there was one person in front of me. as all 3 barbers(clowns) rotate thru people without ever cutting my hair. shame on these guys I would have went elsewhere. They are deceptive when they could just tell the truth. Josh usually cuts my oldest son's hair and does a great job! Always leaving him handsome and confident--after his cut today I asked Josh if he could squeeze in my youngest son who is autistic. Maybe Josh knew the challenge he was up against but he accepted it with grace. It wasn't easy but he worked with us and gave my son breaks when needed. I'm very surprised to see all the bad reviews.. my experience here for my dad was great. I called PRIOR to coming in and wanted to schedule an appointment for my dad who is disabled and made sure they were able to accommodate him. The person who picked up the phone and cut his hair was Armanda. He was so kind, patient, and professional both on the phone and while cutting his hair. He even went the extra mile to hold the door open while we slowly got dad in. The rest of the crew even jumped in to help dad into the chair too which amazed me! Went in as a walk in and only had to wait for about 20 min or so on a Saturday. Calvin cut my hair and did a very nice job. I will say it was one of the quickest but more detailed haircuts I have ever had. Will definitely be returning as a normal customer for Calvin. Also, the shop was clean and professional. If you are in need of a cut they aren't terrible. I was a walk-in so there was a small wait but I get it and i can say it was clean. However if I'm being honest the environment wasn't my favorite. Between the movie choice and the music this was definitely not a kid friendly shop. My sons cut was just ok. I probably won't be bringing him back. I've been in several shops where, especially if there's little to no other customers, that they consider the child and change the channel and/or adjust the music. In my opinion that type of consideration and a better cut would have made this a far greater experience. read more

Prestige has been my barber shop for over a year now. What sold me has nothing to do with the ambiance of the place (it's fairly bare bones) but rather with the fact that they had the best barber in Jacksonville working here. I've received a perfect fade every 3 weeks for the last year from one of the most skilled young barbers in the country - Shadow. Unfortunately he recently moved on to another barber shop and he's so good that he'll be taking my ugly mug with him. I don't want to hate on this shop at all because everyone else has always been friendly and they all seem to do good work but Shadow is the only one I let cut my hair so I have to lower my rating by a star simply because they lost the best part of the shop. The good things about this shop are that the guys are all very laid back and treat everyone like they belong there. It has a good old school barbershop feel. The prices are more than fair and can be negotiated with your barber if that's your thing. On the flip side of the coin, they don't sell products, they're cash only and a lot of the chairs seem to be on their last leg. I'd come here still if my barber wasn't moving elsewhere but in the end, that's what it's all about so I'll have to move on. For those who don't have a preferred barber though, this is a good place to start. read more

He always gives him a clean cut and let's his mom get in her two cents ;) Atmosphere is like a typical barber shop but you can feel the camaraderie and respect the barbers have with one another. Not being from this area, I needed to find a place for my son. He really needed a cut before school on Monday. I visited this location because of reviews on Yelp as well as the location being close to where we were staying. The interior is a basic-style barber shop giving that more classic feel, but also providing a variety of hair cut styles. A regular cut is $17, which is a little higher than what I'm used to, but the barbers are cool and know what they are doing. I would highly recommend making an appointment to ensure that you can get in. That seemed to be what several people had done. Their hours are M (9a-7p)-Sat. (8a-6p). We arrived at 7:50a Saturday morning, but no one showed up until almost 8:30a, although they were scheduled to open at 8a. In spite of the wait, I would come back. read more

Called in to check if I had to make an appointment on MONDAY afternoon but whoever answered the phone said, it is preety slow and I can just walk in. I walked in, signed up in the sheet (which they don't even bother). There were there barbers and they were all busy. Waited for an hour to get my turn but people who walked in after me were getting their haircut before me (they might have had an appointment). After waiting for almost 2 hours, I left the place. I showed up close to opening with my son, signed our name in on the walk in list. Was not greeted or talk to by any barber while we sat for 30-40 minutes. It was like we were purposely being completely ignored. There were only two barbers on staff and we were the only people waiting. Once one of the barbers had finished with a client he finally acknowledged us and said that they're all booked up for the day with appointments and they probably can't squeeze us in. I signed in on the walk in appointment paper that they don't check and I waited for an hour then all the barbers packed up and went home and was told they couldn't get me. Place sucks. Received the worst haircut I've ever had in my life from here. Barber did a fade which I did not request, at a length way shorter than I said, used the trimmers all the way to the top of my head way higher than he should have, and shaved my hairline back (had no idea that was even a thing). All the while I didn't face the mirror so I had no idea what was going on, AND it took over an hour! DO NOT GO HERE. and if you do make sure to check the progress and speak up if something does not look good to you. I wish I had just stuck to hair cuttery. The barbers fooled around too much, took random smoke breaks, were talking/texting on their phones while someone was in their chair, and making sexist remarks/jokes about woman. Walked in a few months ago having my doubts. I am in the Navy so I'm meticulous about my hair cut. Jason cut my hair and not a single other person has cut my hair since. I'm a very loyal customer once I find someone who can truly cut a military guys hair and I found him. Watching the other barbers while getting mine cut, I can tell they have talent. Just got a bad haircut yesterday, I don't know if it was just him but all the others barbers were doing some awesome cuts but mines . I was very pissed yesterday because on top of my bad haircut I was charged 25 bucks for a messed up haircut, no eyebrows clean, that was SEPARATE. I'm glad I didn't got my eyebrows cleaned. The third barber from the right hand side was the guy who cut my hair. The other barbers were alright, I saw some great cuts from them and the clients walking out happy but I just didn't. Get him some training or get rid of him. Just because of him I'm not going back there even tho the other barbers were good.
