My barber was super friendly and turns out we had mutual friends so it was a nice throwback to baby days at school. I'd easily say he was the best fade I got since I got into cleaning my mop in high school. Shit looks immaculate and he took his time after fine tuning it for my and my chia pet hair. I like it there because they have reserved parking spots for you. My issue with my health requires me to test my blood once or twice a month. One day I went to my favorite lab but there was no open space, so I decided to park on the side. Actually, you can park anywhere and they have reserved parking. I saw this hair salon for guys. Ace of Fades Hawaii. My son always wanted to try those salons, but I always took him to a barber shop. lol As he is getting older, the barber shop he goes to does a wonderful job, but you know when they are teenagers they like to try different places. I know I was like that when I was his age. But I never did go in -- until one day I went to my lab and my son was with me. I told him, "Let's check it out." After my lab appointment, we stopped at the hair shop. As we entered, they greeted us like we were their regular customers. I asked if I needed to make an appointment or if they accepted walk-ins. The guy I was talking to was Ken, and he said they accept both walk-ins and appointments. Their shop looks like a man cave. lol So Ken took my son, and they started talking. I wanted my son to express how he liked his haircut, so I just sat in my chair. While I was there, I noticed they had regular customers. I heard the stylists calling customers by name. That's so great because when they know you, they also know the texture of your hair, which means you'll always get a great haircut. My son showed Ken a picture of the haircut he wanted, and Ken cut it exactly like the picture. He was super happy with his haircut! I pointed out the difference in service between his barber shop and this place. He said he only showed Ken the picture one time and Ken duplicated the haircut perfectly. His barber shop is good, but they tend to do the same kinds of haircuts and have pictures with numbers that you choose from. That's how barber shops are -- but this shop goes for a more defined, personalized style. I asked my son where he wanted to get his haircut next. He wanted to come back to this shop and have Ken cut his hair again. While I was there, they had a lot of customers, so I didn't want to ask to take pictures of the shop because most people don't like to be in photos. That's why I went back another day to get the pictures. For those of you who live on the west side, come try the fade haircuts here. The stylists are very cool, they have a big TV just like a man cave, and they definitely know how to cut your hair exactly the way you want it. And I saw a champion belt.. I asked about the belt and they won the competition.

He made zero effort to connect or communicate clearly -- no consultation, no basic customer service, just a rushed and awkward experience. I saw this place and the prices and thought for the sake of our wallet I should give this place a chance. And I am so happy I did. I like all of the barbers there except for a man who is in the inner right hand chair. He rushes with my kids which is not happening with me. Everyone else is great though. They do the same cuts my kids got at the other barbers. I usually get different fades for my boys with line ups. And its always clean and even. Definitely switching and becoming a regular. The wait here isn't as long either! And their prices are MUCH better. $11 for each child. Oppose to $15 that's a catch. Don't knock it before you try it. Heads up: They only take cash!
