Chocolats Favoris - chocolate soft serve with super dark chocolate dip

If you love chocolate and/or soft serve ice cream, this place is meant for you. I ordered their…read moreswirl soft serve with a 70% dark chocolate based dip and it was everything I could have asked for. The tart raspberries gave a perfect compliment to everything. I will definitely return for gifts for others and soft serve for myself.

I opted not going for any of the "kooky" combinations advertised as they looked WAY too sweet for me. There's only 3 soft serve flavours here. Vanilla, chocolate or twist (vanilla + choco). But in terms of coatings/dips, they have a TON. I spent a good 15 min deciding which dip I wanted to go with. The owner (I presume) was the one who took my order when I walked up to the register. He highly recommended that I opt for a waffle cone if I was going for a classic dip (I was leaning towards just getting a cup). He was so adamant that he threw in the waffle cone for free! Super nice guy and great customer service! Got a medium size, chocolate soft-serve with extra dark chocolate shell/exterior. These scoops are very generous. I prolly could've done with a small tbh since I was SOOO FULL after dinner loool. But yea, I'm glad I went with dark chocolate on chocolate soft-serve because the whole dessert was not sweet at all which I really enjoyed. If I'm back in the area one day with my gf, I'll take her here and share a dessert with her!

Market & Co. has been kicking around for over three years. As usual, it takes me a while to get…read morewith the program. Better late than never. This program suits me! Roughly a decade ago, it wasn't unusual for me to visit Newmarket and Upper Canada Mall. I'd do the run on weekends. Market & Co. is where Target used to be. It's essentially a cross between a food hall and a market. I love the combination of grabbing food (it was takeout only while we were in lockdown number whatever and now dining in is allowed) and buying items, such as pepperoni and popcorn, at various vendors. What brought me to Market & Co. at long last? Patties Express. It opened up recently and I am addicted to its patties. I have been to its location at the Food District in Mississauga a couple of times. I love their patties so much that I was thrilled to hear that York region has a location. As much as I love Food District, I love Market & Co. more. It would be perfect if Pie Commission were here, but you can't have everything. I felt like I was at the best market with cool items. Vince's Market has these huge bags of popcorn. I have a lot of popcorn at home, but a bag was the length of my body pillow. I could so cuddle that bag and snack from it while watching a hockey game or a movie. I've dropped by Market and Co. a couple of times so far. The first time was during lockdown. The entrance on the left when you face the main doors heading in was available. The doors on the right were locked. Now that lockdown restrictions have started to lift again, both sets of doors are open. You can also dine inside with proof of vaccination. It was definitely more lively here last weekend. I have been to Patties Express twice. I love the patties from this place so much. I don't get tired of eating them. You have the option of eating them hot (they are perfect for a meal or a snack) or you can get frozen ones to reheat in the oven when you get home. I am now a fan of The Alley. It was my first time ordering bubble tea in Newmarket. I also had a better experience at this location than The Alley in Mississauga three years ago. Great staff. Yummy bubble tea. Kibo Sushi is amazing. You can order takeout, dine in, or fetch food from Kibo Market. I ended up getting inari, chicken gyoza, a bulgogi onigiri, and horjicha tea from this market. The gyoza were warm and super crispy. You can also get snacks, ramen, and more. It's amazing. I also got a chocolate croissant from Amadeus Patisserie. OMG! Deliciously flaky and delicious. I am still dreaming about it. If you do need to use the washrooms, they are in the far right corner when you enter from the parking lot. They are next to Amadeus Patisserie. The women's washroom was clean both times. The soap, faucet, and dryer are located by the sink and use motion detection to work. There are so many other eateries and shops that I still need to visit and explore. I like this place so much that I don't mind casually heading north to visit. You can hit the mall through Market & Co. if you aren't in a food coma. I am thrilled that I can enter this heavenly food place and not hit a large mall during a pandemic. There is lots of parking. The parking situation is weird when you enter from Yonge Street. You have no choice but to hit a three-way intersection to get to Market & Co. It's your own path to get here. Exercise patience, especially when you have a driver in front of you who had no idea what to do once he was at the stop sign. Ugh! I'll be back. My food experience here will continue for a while and my patties addition seems to be here to stay. (56)

You can get hot food, desserts, drinks, uncooked food and even a full seat down meal! Price might be on the pricier side but nice for the experience. I just wish there is more varieties as 2 out of the 3 full service restaurants are Italian. Worth dropping by and checking it out when you are in Newmarket!

Turning left to get out of the plaza could be challenging depending on time of day and traffic. Ambiance: 5/5 - it is brightly lit with the available meat products on display at the left. Freezer products to the right. Some places that sell raw meat can have that smell to it but this place does not at all. It's very clean. Service: 5/5 - they are friendly, and super quick. They have a lot of options ranging and some are already marinated/seasoned. You just have to cook them. Food: 5/5 - brought a pack of bone marrow and 2 New York striploins. The NY striploin are a little pricey but worth the price. I was a little tempted with the no salt herb dry mix staring at me when I waited for the steak. However, a little salt and pepper goes a long way on a high quality steak. Even though I cooked it closer to medium (user error), it was still very tender and juicy. Overall: 5/5 - will definitely be coming back for more. I know they have some hot food items too so I would like to check that out too. On a side note, my toddler wasn't too sure of bone marrow before. I can safely say my toddler is now hooked after trying the bone marrow from here (cooked of course).
