My fiancé really likes coming to premium cutz even before the move from downtown sj to now east side Sj . He specifically likes to request Jose* to cut his hair/trim his beard he always come out looking fresh ! Today 12/24/23 Christmas Eve was really special for us as a family because we took our son whose almost 3 ( end of January) is his bday to experience his first ever big boy haircut - at the barbershop ! & with Jose of course . The cut process was so seamless! Our son wasn't as fussy since we were nearing nap time + came ready with YouTube videos to calm him . Throughout the hair cut Jose was very kind and patient with him. We did also tell Jose that our son is extra special because he's our homie with an extra chromie - has a diagnosis of trisomy 21 aka Down syndrome . We wanted to make sure both of them were compatible in terms of care and availability since we'd most likely be needing extra breaks to get Elijah to sit still . Initially both my finance and son had same day appointments on 12/23 but my son had fallen asleep on the way to the barber shop and Jose was pretty booked up as well .. so we all felt okay with coming the next day - Xmas eve . (Also I'd like to highlight that in this day it was also the barber Jose's 10 year old daughter's birthday! ) My son Elijah went from toddler to" threenager" real quick . We all loved the end result! Elijah was also happy with his new look. Thank you Jose ! The vibe here is a chill "come as you are" the interior has foldable metal chairs as soon as you step foot in the door but also some nice leather ottoman's in the center of the room with visibility of the desired barber you are waiting on with a large mounted T.V which had football streaming on this visit . Just tried to get my grandpa a cut,definitely understand if their busy but no one tried to attentively help me schedule an appointment or point me in the right direction towards doing so. Excellent Service! I'm from out of town and I came in looking for a Korean-style middle-part cut, and walking in I was a little hesitant as my barber did not speak English. I walked out after a bit, but was welcomed back in by one of the staff, walking through the cut I wanted and working through the language barrier. I made an appointment for my son last week, and I got the last spot for today. When my husband and son showed up they didn't see the barber that was supposed to cut his hair so I double checked the Date and time to see if I had the day correct and I did. The other Barber's told my husband that he just left and my husband told them that my son had an appointment with Fonzi today at 3:00 pm. One of the Barber's called him and he told them that he didn't have time to cut his hair, if that was the case you should of taken that slot time off the website/app, If I would of got an emailed, text or phone call letting me know that he couldn't make it in I would of understand. I came with my son he is on the spectrum I forgot the name of the barber , but I let him know right away that my son is autistic and it's been my 3rd time taking him to a barbershop he has improved and came a long way with being able to sit and just trust the process , but there's times were he needs reassurance there was a moment that I felt the barber was being frustrated , but when it was time to line his sides up he pulled out the knife and my son got a little frightened and the barber roller his eyes I didn't appreciate that at all kids feel your energy if you don't have patience to cut a kids hair don't do it anyways on the positive side i liked his haircut it came out nice I would be back , but I just hope management is able to be more organized and get barbers that are patient with kids I am even willing to tip good aslong as I get a barber that is understandable and patient . read more

The new shop is dope too, I like that the owner got a video game set up for the kids that come in and wait for their parents or family to get a haircut .. Came here last night for my 9 year old sons haircut. I made the appointment online, super easy to do and they take appointments later than a lot of shops in the area. JC (Juan) was ready on time and cut his hair exactly like the picture that my son found. He has ALWAYS been petrified of getting his hair done and the clippers that he used didn't freak him out like the ones other people have used on him. The cut was $20 which is pretty normal for a kids cut, it is going up to $25 soon according to the signs in the store which seems a little pricey to me but I will most likely be coming back for his next cut! read more

Their hair cuts are great! My husband always gets his hair cut from one of the barbers; he does a good job! Warning: do not come without an appointment, they will not acknowledge you are there. Their website doesn't work well, it takes FOREVER to load when requesting an appointment so call in advance. When getting an appointment through phone, ask who will be doing the haircut or again they will not ask. Today, I called to request an appointment but I was told I could do it online and the barber we always go to would be back in 20 min so we decided to do a walk-in because it states on yelp "walk-ins are welcomed" but no, we waited 2 hours and no one acknowledged us.
