Really disappointed with how the staff treats customers. Went to watch Nobody 2 at 5:15 and the movie was being projected improperly, so the entire film looked very blurry and had a neon green line right down the middle of the screen. It was becoming too much of a headache to watch so I went to the concession stand to talk about it and one of the staff members mentioned that they'd been having problems projecting the film all day, and to go to the outdoor ticketing window for a refund or credit to see another film. When I went to the ticketing window, the young woman running it was actually talking to the manager already. When I brought up my concern about the film and requested a refund or credit to the young woman, the manager immediately stopped their conversation and went to go hide in the back. The young woman kept going on and on about how she couldn't refund me or give me a credit to see another movie. So I requested to speak to the manager, she insisted that he was on the phone (he was not, as I just saw him not even 2 minutes ago go into hiding when he heard me mention a refund), and we both went back and forth on how to make this right. I got frustrated and gave up, and decided to take my loss, but then came back just insisting on speaking to the manager as I spent over $40+ in food alone to watch a movie with my husband for date night and was not just about to leave. After some back and forth the manager came out and could not have cared less about the situation. He gave me the same tired speech about not being able to give me a refund or a credit, not even a sincere apology for our experience, then switched his script and said I would need to leave the premises if I received a refund and I wouldn't be to finish our movie or even watch a different one....what? Never in a million years would I think a paying customer would be asked to leave an establishment for a company's mistake. If I was being rude or threatening then it'd be understandable, but I asked KINDLY for the situation to be resolved. It honestly felt like a slap in the face, so I told the manager I would never EVER be coming back here. They knew from the day they opened today that the film was having problems with projection and still decided to run the film and have people pay to watch it, and I obviously wasn't the first to complain about it!! And If I couldn't get a refund, at least let me get a credit to watch another film- I would've taken that! I guess the manager realized what he had done wrong and gave me 2 credits to watch another film, but honestly, with the hassle they gave me today, I'm not sure if I will ever come back to this theater. It took over 30 minutes just to come to a solution. All I can say is, do better, hire better staff/a better manager, and take notes. I've had projection issues at the Morgan Hill cinema, and without hesitation, the staff there let us finish the film and gave us complimentary tickets to come back to see another film. This is the only movie theater in town, and compared to its surrounding competitors, it quite literally has nothing to offer with its dated interior and seats. You'd think with that they'd take care of their customers the first time or be more empathetic, but no. I would always go to the movie theater in Gilroy and Morgan Hill and stopped so that I can support local businesses in my hometown, but it's clear my business isn't appreciated here and I will be making my drive out of town again to where it is. Never been so disappointed in my life. I go to movies 1-2 times a month. I usually don't have a problem. This time they really showed their colors. I purchased a ticket online then went in to watch the movie. I went to the machine to redeem the ticket, and they changed doing that to the food counter. I then asked if for some food and was told that I have to go wait in a different line. I went to this line and got what I wanted. I was going to spend $21.00+ for the food. He told me, at 1:00 in the afternoon that he couldn't break the $100.00 bill. I said Okay If I can't get the food refund my ticket in full and I'd be on my way. The really young guy, the manager as he told me, told me that they could refund my ticket, but I wasn't going to get it all back Because it was ordered online. I told him that that wasn't my problem, and I didn't appreciate him stealing my money. We are talking about 30% of the ticket value by the dollar total he gave me. It isn't my fault that they can't be prepared to run their business effectively when open. Nor should i be penalized for it. If I wanted to just give away money, I'd give it to a charity where it could do some good. I call three times to talk to Frank Tankersley, who is apparently the owner and have no received any response. If you want to deal with someone like this that is your choice. I will never be back at that location or any other run by Mr. Tankersley again. This is just bad business. If you can't effectively be ready for business, don't saddle your short comings on your customers or your ex-customers in this case. I didn't see any remorse or care for what I was being put through either. They just took my money and refused me a full refund because they couldn't get it together to run the business., so now I'm out the price of the ticket. read more

Went to see the new Mario movie with my kids. Got tickets the day before and picked out seats. When we arrived the showing was sold out. While we waited for the film to start there were a lot of unsupervised teens/tweens running around the theater. We saw a family that arrived to find their seats occupied by another group. They went off to see if a manager could sort it out and never returned. The start time for the movie came and went, with nothing on the screen. We waited 20 minutes with no word from management about what caused the delay. Finally, we left and asked for a refund. When we were waiting for our refund to be processed we saw the other family, who had apparently bought seats that were double booked. What a mess! The icing on the cake: When I got home I looked at my refund and saw that it was $5 less than what I paid for the tickets. read more

Very impressed with the manager today (didn't get his name but he is a younger guy with dark curly hair) and if he's not the manager, he certainly should be. A group of teenage boys came in and were cursing in the lobby (to each other, but loudly) less than 8 feet away from my 5 and 7 year old girls. As the manager approached, they asked where to buy tickets. The manager replied politely that they could purchase them at the concession stand but then also politely added that he would not sell them tickets because cursing in the theater is not acceptable. He even added a very thoughtful explanation that if they could not respect other customers, they would not be allowed in it. To their credit, the boys apologized equally as polite and walked out, appearing to have acknowledged their mistake. As a parent, I really appreciate this young man's approach and wish sincerely that we had more people like him in charge. read more

Been coming here since I was a kid but with these new hours they have it's ridiculous! If the kids are out of school then the theater should at least show movies starting at 11. They use to open everyday at 11 and now the first showing isn't till 2pm which is just dumb especially if there isn't anything else to do in this town for kids read more

Trash excuse for a movie theater and I've been to platinum theaters. Weird policies about being over 25 to take minors to R movies. Rude workers and the worker had nothing better to do so she stood in our theater the whole time just staring at everyone making sure they weren't on their phone. Felt like we were getting babysat. If that is her job title she is getting extremely underpaid. Spent money to come here to see a movie I was excited about and the atmosphere along with the workers made this a terrible experience. If I could give this 0 stars I would. I had a terrible experience here they were being VERY RUDE and difficult with their policies regarding R rated movies. They make you feel stupid and have the managers watch over you while you're there. The workers were also very rude. Specifically one worker named Dominic and his friend were talking pointing and laughing at me when taking my ticket. Then Dominic rolled his eyes when serving my drink. With 10 screens and reasonable ticket prices I am very happy with this theater. Even the refreshments are a better deal than large city theaters. The best deal is the large popcorn for $6 with one free refill and one large drink for $4. Get boxes and share with the family. Hot dogs are $4 and hot soft pretzels are $2.50. This is my go to movie theater since it's pretty much the only one in Hollister. They always have the top box office movies, and every Wednesday they have their cinematic art series. Every Tuesday is 5 dollar bargain movie day! Bargain Tuesday only applies to certain movies, but if you wait a couple weeks after its been out it usually applies. They have a large selection of snacks, and I love their gourmet coffee. I like how they usually have some healthy snacks to choose from like nuts or apple slices. This movie theater is a lot cheaper than those in neighboring towns, and it's just as nice!! read more

They have the BEST popcorn ever!! I'm not a fan of AMC or CineLux popcorn because it tastes like microwave popcorn. They also have seasoning for your popcorn out on the counter for free!! This movie theater is definitely just as comparable to other movie theaters. It may not be as big or as grand but it's good for the size of this town. $5 Tuesdays is a great, affordable deal and it applies for the movies that have been out for a couple of weeks. Love going to Premiere Cinemas! Yes, it's the only theater in Hollister, but I still choose it over Gilroy or Salinas. It's newer (new building in 2006), clean, and the price is much more reasonable than Gilroy, Salinas, and of course San Jose. They have a good variety of consessions and various flavor things you can shake onto your popcorn - everything from Nacho Cheese to Marshmallow! They have these convenient boxes available so you can buy a large popcorn and then divide it up and everything can make up their popcorn in their own style. There is also a coffee bar that makes lattes, mochas, etc. While there is ample parking in the back, when movies are getting out it can be a little akward trying to get out and cars get backed up. Not the best design. The accept credit cards but also have an ATM in the lobby. read more

Have always enjoyed going here to see the latest films. Nearly always a crowd on weekends, but that is to be expected. The saver card is good to have; if you don't have one, ask for one the next time you go. Every 50 points, you can get a free soda, a free small popcorn and a free ticket. The kids summer movie series is worth checking out, even if you don't have children. All ages are admitted for $1. I loved seeing "Ghostbusters" as one of the kids' movies in summer 2010. It was fun seeing on the big screen again after all these years. I always make sure to get to showings before 6PM to get the matinee prices. The cinema art series always has some hit indie film you'd normally have to go out of town for. I was glad when "An Education" and "Precious" came to town as I'd waited months to see those! Local movie theater dive is awesome and I do not like being interrupted during my movie with beeping phones, loud talkative audience. My nerves can only take so much. However, I do love the feel of a plush home like feel movie experience. The summer extravaganza's are amazing. Summer (reruns) movies are less than $5.00 for kids. I can take up to 8 (2 adults and 6 kids) for $40 USD. Wow! Also, the movie theater has a type of Taco Tuesday deal. The deal is $5.00 entrance for all movies. Wow what a deal. The best is yet to come. After the movie, we can take our movie ticket stub and enjoy Quizno's for a 10% of all food. All in all the movie experience is incredible, relaxing, enjoyable, and above all FAMILY! ps wowweeeeeee. We were in town for a soccer tournament with five hours to kill between our first and second games and no opportunity to go home since we live almost two hours away so we went to the movies! Premiere Cinemas was a nice place to pass the time and keep warm in the unseasonably blustery June weather. The theater was small but clean and comfortable. The staff was OK --- not friendly but OK. One thing I really liked that I haven't seen at other movie theater snack bars was the assortment of popcorn seasoning. From sea salt and vinegar to jalapeno cheddar, there was something in the seasoning sampler bar for every preference. It was awesome!! read more

I'm so disappointed in how my 17 year old daughter and her boyfriend were treated at this theater the other night. They went on Sept 13th to the 8pm showing of the movie "IT". They ended up getting to the theater a few minutes passed 8pm so they were heading into the movie late. There was an employee immediately inside the door checking tickets. After having their tickets checked they headed towards the showroom that " IT" was playing in as per the instruction of the ticket taking employee. Another employee, an older man with thinning hair stepped into their path and standing between them and the door, grabbed the door handle, and keeping the door shut, asked them what they were looking for in a very accusatory manner. The told him they were going into their movie. He blocked their path even more and demanded to see their stubs . They understood at this point that he might have thought they were movie hopping but he was acting very disrespectful and rude towards them. I have taught my daughter to be respectful to others ,as she was, and after digging into pockets, and wallets they provided their stubs which made them even MORE late into their movie thus missing part of the movie. At this point the employee , after eyeing the stubs, just moved out of the way and walked off, no apology, no comment whatsoever. You would think that an establishment that makes most of its revenue from teens and children would be a bit more hospitable and respectable towards their main patrons. My daughter and her boyfriend go to this theater multiple times a month as there is not a lot to do in Hollister. As a family of 7, we go to this theater frequently as well. I can't help but think if my husband or myself had been present they would not have been treated as hoodlums and spoken to disrespectfully. Just to be clear, I'm not upset that they were asked for their tickets twice, I'm disappointed in the way they were spoken to. My daughter wasn't even mad, just really confused as to why she was treated this way. It's hard to explain to your teen that some adults dont feel that teens/children deserve respect because of their age, and that some adults are on power trips and are customer haters but THEY ( teens) still need to be respectful towards these people because that is the right thing to do. Because who doesn't love movies on a rainy day. Premiere Cinemas is always clean, and the workers are very friendly. The only bad thing is that it fills up quicky, and it's not that big. I tend to go a week after a movie is released so I can have a few seating options. I love that they have changing stations and family bathrooms as well. read more

So yeah this movie theater might not have all the good indie or underground or Sundance Film Selections you could see in Santa Cruz or San Francisco but truth be told I only come here maybe twice a year and that lady who chapped my ass with her bad review apparently isn't on yelp anymore. But yeah the price is right and the location rocks and the AC works so even if they don't have a great movie selection I fall back on Netflix for that so there still getting 5 stars from me. read more

My girlfriend and I go to the movies sometimes and they do a good job! I always have great time being there. They have great poopcorn. There is always good moives to see over there. The people over there very nice! The crost of the food is a lot but they have great food. It's not like I go there a lot with my girlfriend. If we did that we wouldn't have anying money at all lol!
