We easily booked on line a couple months in advance of our trip to Stonehenge, Bath and a Secret Place. I had a few questions, which were answered quickly through email. Instructions and itinerary were provided after we bought we tickets. Additional and helpful information was sent a few day prior to our trip. Noelh, our tour guide, was knowledgable, interesting and fun from the moment he picked us up in London. He provided information beyond the tour stops. He was engaging and had a good understanding of the geology of Stonehenge as well as the historical background. He made well time stops for breaks. We spent about two hours at Stonehenge, two hours at Bath and an hour at the Secret Place. The Secret Place was worth the extra and I highly recommend. Noelh offered a brief and interesting walking tour at each site and left us time to explore on our own. We were allowed to bring snacks on the bus but we didn't need them because we stopped plenty at places for food and drink. Noelh provided water. Bring water and rain gear. There were UBC ports for phone charging on the bus. The bus was very comfortable. Noelh was sensitive to a woman that was having mobility issues and arranged for her to skip part of the walking tour. I enjoyed Stonehenge and the Secret Place immensely, I was glad I saw Bath, but it was too crowded during our visit. Others on the tour really loved Bath. I highly recommend The English Bus tours.

Andy was a great tour guide taking us to Stonehenge, Bath, and a Cotswold Village. We learned a lot along the drive from Andy and enjoyed the air conditioned, comfortable Mercedes that he drove. He was a very good communicator of information, with good humor as well, and kept us on time! If you like a smaller group tour experience I would highly recommend this business! We…read morewere among the first on the bus and were told to sit upstairs, even though we were the first pickup and others who boarded later at the second stop got to stay downstairs. The upper level felt like an oven with no air, despite it not being a particularly hot day. Everyone was trying to adjust the vents, and one woman even went down to tell the tour guide it was hot. He came up and agreed, but nothing changed. They were incredibly unorganized, holding us up at the second stop while figuring out where to seat people. I think they even split up a parent and child behind us because when they were making people change seats, I heard a lady say "she's only 6 years old!". Why not just assign seats??? We left late, and the guide assured us they'd adjust our return time, but they certainly did NOT. Instead of the advertised four hours at the studio, we got off the bus at 2:50 and had to be back by 6:20, losing a full 30 minutes. They took forever letting people off the bus, letting the group that came on 2nd get off first, while we sweated upstairs. When I got off and complained about the heat and the time, the male tour guide was very rude, sarcastically telling me to "come back after four hours," implying we'd be left behind. I mentioned that the lady tour guide made an announcement saying "don't worry, your time will be adjusted so you will have the 4 full hours", and she said, "the time has passed". I have no idea what that means. The male tour guide denied it was hot, claiming some people said it was cold. I seriously doubt that. Maybe it was cooler downstairs, but we baked upstairs. Cool air didn't start coming through until we were nearly at the studios. If you read older reviews, which i should have, you will see this is an ongoing problem with them. Because of the sweltering ride, my husband got car sick (which he never does) and couldn't do the tour, staying near the entrance to rest and drink water. I took my kids, including my adult son with autism, and we rushed through everything, worried we'd get stuck and miss the bus, giving us more stress he didn't need, If you love someone with autism, you know what I mean. The studio itself was awesome, what we got to see of it. Funny, on the way back the air conditioner suddenly started working so they made everyone suffer in the heat for nothing. All of a sudden, they were also able to open the sunroofs on the top of the bus to get air, and as they did, they were hitting tree branches and pieces of the trees were falling on people's heads that were sitting there. The driver drove like a maniac and stopped short several times. And to finish the lousy day off, the bus hit something and the side mirror broke, and we were dumped at the side of the road with no explanation to use upstairs, nowhere near where we were supposed to be let off, so we had to pay even more money on a cab to get back to our hotel. I suppose I should be happy that he didn't hit something closer to the studios, because I'm sure they would have dumped us there too without a care. Go with any other company or just go on your own. I wish we did. Stay away from this company!

In London, we did 2 separate tours, the free 2.5 hour walking tour (just FYI make sure to tip at the end) and the Old City Tour which lasted about 3-3.5 hours. The free walking tour was a great introduction to the city and meets in Covent Garden, which is centrally located on several underground lines. We went through Westminster, Trafalgar Square, and past the National Gallery. We also walked past St. Jame's Palace and Buckingham Palace and through St. James Park. We saw the Horse Guards Parade and witnessed the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. We saw Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, and the Churchill War Rooms. Our guide was originally from Portugal but really knew his London history and culture after living there for 12 years. He definitely made the tour entertaining and informative. The Old City Tour focused on the City of London (which is actually incredibly small) and its history. We began in Covent Garden and ended at the Tower of London. In between we saw the tower bridge, London Bridge (it's not impressive actually), Big Ben, St. Paul's Cathedral, The Church of the Knights Templar, Mansion House, the Bank of England, the Royal Exchange, the WWII Blitz area, where the fire of London began, and the barristers courts. We also saw the old jail and the current courthouse. Our tour guide was actually originally from Canada and is a history teacher in London. He was very entertaining, perhaps less theatrical than our first guide, but more historically informed. I believe the tickets were 12 or 15 pounds each. Sandeman's is a great company and I highly recommend all of their tours in the cities they have them in!

We did free tour with Dave. He was super great! When we did this tour it was on and off raining. So these tours happen rain or shine. The tour was focused on the castle aka the royal tour. We were taken to many photo spots and I love all the context we get. Dave the tour guide was so knowledgeable and super kind. On these tour he tells your tips on how to navigate around the city and etiquette. He was willing to give recommendations and directions when the tour ends too. Remember that these tours had a lot of research done and that you should tip as much you think it is worth. These tours are such worth it as they can build some structure on the trip. I look forward booking with Sandman's tour company again. :)

He also let me know that the time was changing the night before our tour, which was very useful information as the hotel did not mention anything about a time change and we were not aware of it. David is very knowledgeable and shares a lot of information while driving to each destination. We learned about not only the sites we were set to see but also about the buildings, statues and areas that we passed along the way. We started our day at Hampton Court. David provided us with tips on how to make the most of our time there. We were able to explore on our own and then he picked us up for our lunch break. David had reservations already made for us at a cute restaurant on the river. We ate inside the restaurant and David stayed outside and was ready to go when we were done. The food and service there was excellent. We then continued to Windsor Castle. We were able to take all the time we wanted touring the castle and then shopped around the town afterwards. When we were ready, I simply sent David a text and he was there and ready to go in 5 minutes. We had a pleasant drive back to our hotel with great conversation. Ask him anything about the area and he will be able to answer with confidence. David is also knowledgeable regarding accessibility at the sites. My mom needed to use a cane that day and David was very patient and assisted her with getting in and out of the van. Additionally, we asked David about local markets to visit the next day and he provided us with information on several different ones. We went with the market he recommended and my mom had a blast walking around and shopping. Bottom line, we had a great time, we appreciated his service, and we would definitely book with David again.

Burford and Bourton on the Water were beautiful, picturesque villages that truly felt like stepping into another world. We loved driving through the rolling countryside and charming stone villages! Oxford was another highlight! We enjoyed exploring the historic university city, admiring the beautiful college buildings and seeing landmarks including the Christ Church Cathedral. The meeting point was easy to find and conveniently located near central London (we met across the street from the Museum of Natural History) at 7:30 AM. We departed shortly after as scheduled. Our tour guide Sinead and driver Richard were fabulous! My main complaint is the bus itself. The seats were very uncomfortable! Secondly, the bus did not have windows, and that day it was so hot in London (80 degrees F/26.6 degrees C), but the air conditioning was not working. We were basically baking inside the bus for 2 hours back from Stonehenge to London! The Stonehenge was beautiful! Definitely a must see!

It was great to listen to his commentary and also to march along beside them as they made their way to Buckingham Palace. We were able to see them from a few different spots and then we hung out at Buckingham Palace to take photos for a while before heading down to where the guards return after they're done. She was very personable and we saw so much during our time together. I did the tour on a Saturday at 10:00 am. Tour began outside Green Park Station. It was easy to find the tour guide. This tour is 6 hours and I saw sites in Westminster, City of London, and additional sights. There is a lunch break halfway through the tour. The tour ends outside the Tower of London. To name a few, we saw Buckingham Palace, The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, 10 Downing St., Churchill War Rooms, Trafalgar Square. We didn't go inside the places, just the outside of it. Though there was no changing of the palace guards on Saturday due to preparations for the coronation and Easter, we were able to see changing of the horse guard. Sinead knew exactly where to stand to have the best view. Sinead also has YouTube videos so definitely check out her channel if you are traveling to London. While these places are all incredible and well worth a visit, I will probably never book with…read moreAnderson Tours again. Our guide was awful. As we passed through an area known as the "Garden of England" she remarked that "It all just looks gray, and this may be hard to believe but, yes, some people think this is actually a garden". At the castle stop, she told us all that we could use the restroom if we needed before going on the tour of the tunnels, but because our group was large, we created a bit of a line. I was near the end of the group and when I got to the tunnel door, she told me that I couldn't go into the tunnels because I was late. The castle guide working the tunnel tour then told me I could go in. I mentioned that there were still people in the bathroom who wanted to go on the tour and our guide told me that they would not be able to because they were late- even though she was the one who told us to use the restroom first. Three hours at the castle was a bit long for me so I got back on the bus a little early and found our guide who told me she was "trying to sleep". Two women were late coming back from the castle and she left them there. When someone on the bus asked if they were okay, she told us a long story over the PA about another time some tourists were late and painted them in a very unflattering light. Because the two women that she left were late, we only had 1/2 hour at the cliffs, which was just enough time to walk from the bus to the trailhead and back. I signed up for this tour because I wanted to see the cliffs and did not have enough time to walk the trail at all. We then went back to pick up the women that our guide had left at the castle. They were literally standing by the side of the road. When we got to Canterbury, she said "Some of you signed up for the Cathedral tour. You know who you are" but when we told her that none of us knew if we had signed up or not, she looked put out that she had go through her list to tell us. To add insult to injury, she told the two women that she had left at the castle that they had not signed up for the Cathedral visit. When they insisted that they had paid for one, she told them that it was no problem, they could just purchase another ticket at the door. We only saw our guide between stops- Once we got to a stop and she walked us to the location, she disappeared each time. Then, on the way home, she announced that she was going to walk the rows of the bus "to get to know us better" in what really felt like a gratuitous move to get tips, which she did ask for at the end. Since there was no designated time to eat during the whole day, I grabbed a sandwich in Canterbury and threw it in my backpack, thinking I could eat it on the way back. When I asked the guide if it was okay to eat on the bus, she said "A small snack is okay, but sometimes people try to eat things like hamburgers and it is so awful. They smell up the whole bus. It's awful", so I didn't dare take it out of my bag. When I got back, I ate my sandwich at home at 8:00 and looked online to see how to go back to see the cliffs on my own using trains and an Uber. I really want to go see them, but not with Anderson tours. To add insult to injury, when I contacted the company to let them know about all of this and to ask if it could be somehow resolved, they told me that my dissatisfaction was due was a "culture clash" and chalked it up to stress over a personal issue that I am dealing with at the moment. I am appalled at the lack of professionalism and total disregard for my feedback.

If you are looking to see Stonehenge and Windsor Castle I would suggest you find another tour…read morecompany! My child's #1 wish for our holiday was to go Stonehenge. So we splurged and I thought that was what we purchased. While every email/text I got from them said "Stonehenge" I had in fact booked only Windsor. HORRIBLY disappointing and it felt like a bait and switch! We tried to make the best of it and went on the Windsor Tour, but what a waste of money. The guide, while very nice, didn't come in with us and really gave his opinion on current popular rather than historical information. So, if you want to go to Stonehenge, beware! You might not get what you're thinking you bought. The guide said others had the same issue. And if you want to go to Windsor Castle, take the train, listen to the free castle audio guide because their guide doesn't even come in with you, and save yourself possibly 100 USD/74.02 GBP.
