Our previous review and warning stands. Do not trust this company with your wedding day…read more
Alexander. Your response to us here is the first time we have heard from you, specifically, in almost a year. You did not reach out to us privately nor directly on our complaint and we spent several months corresponding with your "business partner" and "manager" only, even though you are CC'd on all messages. You have not responded in any of our email chains and you have not been on any calls with us since our wedding. You only provided a 14-point "rebuttal" to us here, one that is no longer publicly available but preserved for our records, before changing your statements twice to what is stated now. You chose to respond to us here and here alone. You also have still not reached out to us, directly, since your "rebuttal" here more than a week ago.
Readers and Reviewers:
Our request for refund has never included photography, videography, nor the actual photo booth photos/photo props - those statements are completely irrelevant and not the basis of our review.
The "DON'T PLAY" section in Vibo (WU's planning platform) had our typed instructions and those were not followed - full stop. No, we didn't list "songs" not to play - we listed ENTIRE ARTISTS. The complaint was not about "explicit" songs, it is about playing music from artists that we explicitly banned. We also listed forty-five reception songs to choose from - entrusting our wedding experience to the DJ's "experience" to play the music we selected with his judgment. He, instead, played multiple songs from the offending artists we said not to play, and other random music, in addition to a few of our selected songs. He could have avoided that had he simply met with us as requested - not the WU "team", the DJ actually responsible for our wedding. In our cinematic video, after the DJ mispronounced the Bride's name upon reception entry (there are no "u"s in the Bride's name), there was no manned follow spotlight during our first dance. And throughout the video, there is no monogram, no pin lighting as instructed, and the wrong color uplighting. All missing/mishandled, clear as day.
We requested proof that any of our lighting elements were present *as contracted/selected*, specifically asking if we were wrong or overlooked anything, especially our monogram and the spotlight, but WU has provided nothing - not a single shred of evidence of this. It's not in any of the "1200" pictures, multiple videos, and still not today after more than 5 months. WU didn't get a single shot of each of those elements? Neither did our guests? Everyone overlooked these? An abundance of pictures of our decor, but none of the lighting elements where, and how, we said they should be. WU's team has ALREADY ADMITTED, in writing, that there were issues with lighting in the email chain that the respondent here never replied to. This is indisputable, and on video.
We did NOT request the removal of the photobooth backdrop but, even if we had, that still does not absolve WU of providing the WRONG one in the first place - which the respondent strategically did not address here. Also not addressed? All of the failed, or otherwise not present, magic moments. That was intentionally sidestepped.
If a prompt response to US, the couple, in WU's world means one that often took 6 days or more leading up to our wedding, and sometimes requiring double and triple messaging on our clear inquiries to get an answer, then sure, they responded "promptly". We have proof of this.
Their "good-faith" refund comes with a non-disparagement clause. We said early on that we would sign a release - but not any form of an NDA. We were willing to, even with the amount being far from "fair". That was ignored. We informed the respondent's "business partner" and "manager" of that multiple times and can back that up as well.
The only thing the response here does is prove exactly what we initially said - avoidant, unaccountable, dismissive, and unprofessional. Hearsay is not proof nor evidence. They continue avoiding the key points of our review in favor of pointing out elements that were never in question and backtracking on confirmed issues that their team has officially admitted to in writing and on multiple video/phone calls that we have record of. Manipulating specific rhetoric does not change the truth.
We encourage you to choose companies that will do right by you.
WU did not meet its full and contractual obligation to us. End of story. We chose to still enjoy our wedding day in spite of those massive shortcomings, rather than focus on WU's failures. That's not proof of WU's success, it's evidence of the grace, resilience, and, ultimately, restraint that we maintained in favor of enjoying our once in a lifetime celebration.
Alexander. If you, specifically, would like to finally speak with us, or "resolve things directly", the methods to contact us have not changed.
We deserved, and still deserve, better than this.
