Crescent Ridge Dairy - Small cone

Crescent Ridge Dairy

Cons: This dairy bar is extremely busy during most summer hours. They actually have 8 outside…read moreservice windows, and on many summer evenings you will still find long lines with a 10-15 minutes wait. Prices are relatively high. The smallest size they serve cost about $6. You do get a lot of ice cream for even that smallest size. If you get the large I would say you are basically buying a quart of ice cream in a cup. Pros: They are busy for a good reason. When you say the words "Premium ice cream" you are describing Crescent Ridge Ice Cream. Their ice cream is insanely rich, made on the premises, and the ingredients come directly from the dairy cows wandering around freely behind a short fence that separates their parking lot from their cow pasture. So freshness is off the charts. Their ice cream is creamy, flavorful, and mouth watering. I might have tasted ice cream that approached or even equaled Crescent Ridge ice cream in quality, but I have never tasted better ice cream, and I mean anywhere either locally or around the country when I travel. This is a place where you are paying premium prices but getting absolutely ultra premium ice cream. I have never left that place without thinking to myself: "Wow! That was GREAT ice cream!"

The place was crowded and the line was huge. Take a hat and sunglasses is you are going on a sunny day. The place has a large parking lot and sitting area. Please take bug spray if you are planning to have ice cream near the farm behind.

I'm pretty fussy about my ice cream and there are definitely lots of great options around and I'd put them right up at the top in RI. If you go here often enough you'll have some great batches with lots of fillings and flavors and some OK batches with a little less, but it's always good. Rich and creamy without any artificial feeling. Lines can be long and sometimes they go slower than others. I'm not usually in a big hurry when I'm going for ice cream so it doesn't bother me. I also don't find it any slower than other favorites in the area like Lincoln creamery, Wright scoop, west end creamery....etc. Last time we visited we had black raspberry Oreo and strawberry cheesecake and they were both great. It was a cooler night with a few drops so it was pretty quiet and we were in and out quickly.

I was hoping to get something basic like strawberry ice cream, but as I walked in, saw some shortcake and knew I wanted that instantly. Kinda cool that you can pick two flavors for the Strawberry Shortcake and a cherry on top. So good, I devoured it instantly. The lime rickey tasted too watered down, so nothing of note there. They do have windows outside to order like other ice cream places, but I guess they weren't opened until a later time? Instead, you can walk into the shop and order from there. There's actually alot going on inside, cake, candy and obviously ice cream! If the race happens again, this will definitely be part of the routine.

We walked into a fun, nostalgic space with a large menu board packed with flavors, toppings, sundaes, frappes, and specialty desserts. The shop has a welcoming, family-friendly energy with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the bright, cheerful interior adds to the classic ice cream parlor feel. The steady flow of customers reflected its popularity as a local favorite, and the lively atmosphere made it a pleasant place to stop for a sweet treat. We stopped by for a milkshake, and it was thick, creamy, and made with real ice cream. The flavor was rich without being overly sweet, and the consistency was exactly what you look for in a good milkshake. The shake stayed thick throughout, never becoming watery, and the flavor held up well from the first sip to the last. The portions are generous, and there are plenty of flavor combinations to customize your order, with options ranging from classic chocolate and vanilla to more creative seasonal flavors. Even with a steady flow of customers, the staff kept things moving efficiently and were friendly throughout our visit, handling the line with speed and a welcoming demeanor. The large selection can take a minute to look through, but it is part of what makes this place stand out, giving you the chance to explore different combinations on each visit. Daddy's Dairy is a great spot for dessert, whether you are stopping in for a quick milkshake or planning to explore their huge variety of ice cream flavors. The quality of the ice cream, generous portions, and welcoming atmosphere make it easy to see why it is a local favorite, offering a classic dessert experience that feels both nostalgic and satisfying.

The phone number list 877 984-2824 gets you to The Hatch Group which has nothing to do with the ice cream shop. I'm guessing that was the previous owner. Why they don't remove their phone number from the ice cream store is a mystery. I'm guessing an oversight. I've been on a mission this summer to sample chocolate frappes at as many places as I can. The reason I rate the frappe here 10/10 is good price, thick chocolatey flavor, & served with a large diameter straw. No way you're inhaling this using the usual size straw. Since you may think they are permanently closed, here are their hours. Monday - Closed Tuesday - Friday 3-9PM Friday 3-9PM Saturday 12-9PM Sunday 12-9PM As their saying goes: Life's short, get the second scoop."
