10/10 I have never had a bad experience with Beacon. Everyone is very professional and kind…read more Plenty of parking, easy to locate where you need to go through the building, large seating room, free coffee, comfortable seating, and free wifi. Check in was quick, prep was even quicker, and the entire time my son was in surgery I knew what stage he was in. After surgery they called me while I was in the waiting room to go over the procedure amd any questions I had. Recovery the ladies were amazing and answered everything I came up with after already being asked lol. They quickly got us discharged but did not rush us, we were ready lol.

When they apply it, make sure you get an itemized copy "PRIOR" to making a payment. When I received my revised bill, they applied part of the $1,000 to an item that insurance covered and had already paid100%. I had to ask for "another" statement, and it was "wrong". I had to walk the billing person through the payments I made and what those payments covered. They spread your payment throughout multiple items. I paid each bill (online) that I had in my hand at the time in FULL, as long as it matched up with my insurance coverage, which I check online before paying. When the next bill came, it showed some of the line items had a balance. So I called "again" and finally got it worked out. I've NEVER had an invoice like this, where they take your payment made and instead of applying it to the item for the exact amount due, they decide to spread the love around. Why?? My guess it there were other changes, but I haven't received the invoice yet. But again, Why?? Makes no sense.

We were there for a second opinion so he had allegedly already taken a look at the original x-ray. I also wanted to ask questions and point out something I saw on the x-ray. He never looked at it. He talked over me, loudly, had a smug attitude, and was extremely rude to me. He told me there was nothing wrong with my sons leg according to the x-ray, but, as I said, I was there for a second opinion. Children's Hospital took the x-ray, and put my son in a leg brace based on their findings. My son had a knee injury. The excruciating pain was not a constant, and of course my son was experiencing it while we were in the office. But it had returned after the brace, when he does activities, and it at times is so bad that my son cannot walk, that indicates there is still an issue. Dr. Shaw told me kids injure themselves and it's better in a day or two. I told him that this had been happening since April. He shrugged his shoulders. I asked what would he recommend doing? He said "Don't know." From a professional, I was really hoping to get some answer other than "maybe." Dr. Shaw's attitude toward me was that I wasted his time, I was inferior to him, and he nonchalantly dismissed any question that I had about healing my sons leg with a one worded answer such as "maybe." I wonder what it was about me that he was prejudiced against. I NEVER showed any disrespect even when he did, and I never showed any sigh of attitude. I just don't understand why he disliked me so much immediately that he didn't even care to try an assist my son. He should be embarrassed but his demeaning, narcissistic behavior lets me know that, he won't be. I wasn't looking to be coddled, I wasn't waiting for the answer I wanted, I just hoped and assumed he would be professional and give me guidance for my child.

I have always had an active lifestyle. At age 42, I developed pain in the lumbar & sacrum regions…read more The pain worsened over the next year to where my lifestyle changed. I could no longer exercise or perform household tasks. I went to an ortho surgeon, who prescribed 18 PT sessions to strengthen my back/abdomen. The PT released me from therapy because I did not have a lack of strength in my back/abdomen and that my pain must come from elsewhere. So, I went to see a chiropractor and after adjustments, he told me a story. His wife had suffered from chronic back pain. As a doctor himself, he had done research and came across a pain management doctor in the area. He sent his wife to that doctor and after several treatments, she was pain free and had remained pain free to that date. That is how I came to meet Dr. Munir. I made an appointment at Southwest Ohio Pain Institute (SWOPI) and by this time, I was waking up around 3:00 AM in such pain that I could not fall back asleep. I had sleep deprivation and passed out during my first appointment. His staff was excellent and I felt like I was in the right place. This doctor was going to help me. Dr. Munir completed a physical exam and asked questions to understand what triggers the onset of my pain. After a series of evaluations, he informed me that he did not believe it was an issue with my spine, but rather an issue with muscle spasms pulling at my spine, resulting in both muscle & structural pain. Dr. Munir outlined a program, which included steroid shots, a low dose muscle relaxer and a series of stretches to be performed multiple times a day that would target underlying muscles not often reached through traditional stretching. After a few days of following his program, I experienced my first good night of sleep in close to a year. After about a month, I was experiencing about 50% relief, but I wanted to shoot for the stars and get back to my active lifestyle. Dr. Munir suggested adding red light therapy to my program. His studies had shown that when used in conjunction with steroid injections, the red light therapy (performed twice a week for 8 weeks) would add additional pain relief. And he was right, it did. Not 100%, but by that point my pain relief was about 85%. It was well worth the time and the investment. Again, not one to give up or settle for anything less than 100%, I tasked him with finding that additional 15% of pain relief that would allow me to sleep each and every night, perform household tasks and get back to exercising. Dr. Munir suggested radio frequency ablation (RFA) and thus we started on the evaluation process to determine where most of the pain stemmed from. We decided to treat my left side first - it was a rather simple 20 minute procedure, local anesthesia, performed in the office. I walked out and soon realized that my pain was gone. It was 100% gone on my left side with about a 95% improvement on my right side as well! I could immediately tell the difference in muscle tightness from my left side to my right side. I came back in a month to see Dr. Munir for treatment on my right side. By then my life had changed dramatically. I had been going to the gym, I had started running again and lifting weights. I was sleeping through the night - every night - and feeling rested in the morning. My physical state had improved and so had my emotional state. I was ecstatic with the results! I couldn't believe that I'd spent a year seeing different doctors (by the way, I also saw a neurologist, a rheumatologist and got a second opinion with another orthopedic surgeon) and Dr. Munir was only 5-minutes from my house. It has been several months now and I am 100% pain free. I am also free to pursue the things in life that bring me joy. Thank you, Dr. Munir, for taking the time to ask me thorough questions and for spending the time to properly evaluate my physical issues and for developing a treatment program that was unique to me. Thank you for sticking with me and for not brushing me off because there wasn't a glaringly obvious reason for the pain.

Discussed some pain I was having in my knee and was given enough information to interest me to schedule a session at the clinic. Worked through my hip and knee pain by focusing on stretches in the hip and calf. Also took away homework stretches that help manage pain and strengthen muscles between session. They have convenient location in West Chester with early morning appointments available. During my multiple sessions I used several tools for stretching and strengthening muscles that may have become weak and non-supportive. They offer and I've had sessions with dry needing and cupping for helping to relax muscles. Working with DPT Katie for general PT sessions and DPT Michael for dry needling, I am happy with the results seen so far. One thing, I would like to see changed/improved is increased partnership with insurance companies for in network benefits. They really put time and effort into offering non-surgical pain management solutions.

I learned how to stretch and exercise safely and felt so much better. Then I hurt myself badly one summer afternoon, just getting out of a car. I found out that I had completely torn my meniscus in my right knee - ironically the knee which had been in better shape. As soon as I could after my surgery, I was back at Stretch. The care was thoughtful and considerate - even when the work was really hard. The care was personalized: we shifted approaches as my inflammation calmed and my flexibility increased, always based on what I had to say about my pain, discomfort and what I needed to do on a day-to-day basis. Even after a setback, Stretch collaborated with me on how I could enjoy my family over the holidays while protecting my health. Eventually, we began to do more complex exercises, matching to the "life skills" I wanted back. I began to have far less problems on stairs, was able to stand for three hours at a work event, and was even able to get out of a car without moving the seat and concentrating on every move. At every step, the care I received at Stretch was skilled, compassionate, kind and customized.
