Below is the review I wrote under Dr. Strasnick for old location. There are now two groups of physician's that are in the same space. Our kids have been with Dr. Strasnick almost since we moved to VB. We are picky and did not like the first doctor's practice and sought out by word of mouth on who we should change to. Several friends said this Sentara group that Dr. Strasnick is a part of. She never seems in a hurry in the exam room and provides a great experience as her bed side manner is very nice. The staff is just wonderful and nurse Mary who is exclusive to Dr. S. is the best and most time just funny. The early hours for walk-in sick is bar none awesome. You can walk-in without an appt from around 7:30 AM until 8:30 AM. You do not get to choose your doctor, but can be seen by one of the group practice MD. They always have a movie running in the lobby for the kids and try to divide the sick and well in the lobby. If you need to schedule a sick visit you usually can get in within same day, or next day. Appointments are very easy for a non sick visits too, usually within a week. The kids always get to pick a sticker, or pencil before leaving. If you need school forms etc. they are emailed which is really a nice touch to get the info quickly. Also Sentara has all the records online by obtaining an account. The office is extremely clean in both the lobby and exam rooms. Next month the office will be moving, so expect an address change Sept 13. For anyone looking for a new doctor, or making a change this is an awesome office and great doctor. Don't take my word, look her up as she has won many local BEST Doc awards for Hampton Roads. The group as a whole is first class, RECOMMEND!

There's separate waiting rooms for well and sick visits. The employees at the desk are super friendly. I've had wonderful experiences with all the doctors here; but my child's main pediatrician is Dr. Scott. Hands down wonderful pediatrician. He was there from the birth to the present (4 years). The other location is Oakbrooke, which is located off of Kempsville Rd. This is the main location with more than 3 floors of specialties. The sick walk-in is 7:30-9:30 also located at this location only. Both facilities are extremely clean, nicely decorated, and more than enough parking.

The front staff and nurses seem to change frequently, however, there are a few friendly faces that have been there for years. You really can't go wrong with any of the doctors or nurse practitioner's as they are all amazing. They can almost always get you in for a same day sick appointment, have walk-in hours, evening appointments and early Saturday appointments available (or they did pre-pandemic). If you are looking for a excellent place to talk your child or children, look no further!

This practice is not new, but new to the PA area…read more The location is beside the new Sentara Hospital and closer to Princess Anne Rd. in the Glenn Mitchell Building. I have only been to this satellite office twice and have been impressed. The entire complex is only seven years old and still looks new. The parking lot has plenty of room and has always been clean. The small lobby prior to getting on the elevator was clear of debris. Two elevators are in the three story building which is adequate. Sentara Pediatric is located on the third floor, right off the elevators and left side of corridor. The check in has been very easy and proved a breeze on my last visit too. They of course need an insurance card on every visit which is there new policy. AS well asking if your child, or you have traveled outside of the U.S. The waiting room is new, spacious, sophisticated and even has a new born area that is walled off with class. This is the waiting room that you seldom get, but always want. A few toys are on the table, but no annoying TV running kids cartoons, or movies that usually get ignored any way. It took no time at all for my son to be called back to his primary physician Dr. Victoria Strasnick. Her nurse Mary did her thing with weight and height first. The back area is very clean and organized. I also saw the doctors secretary Candice who answers the phone and is super wonderful all of the time. The standard put in a room and told the doctor will be in shortly which in some offices could mean 10-15, maybe in 20 plus minutes. Well my son's doctor popped in immediately and gave him a great exam. She also allows time to talk about how he is doing at school, look at his current games he plays on his phone and is most often high energy smiling constantly. We come to this practice for several reasons, most certainly Dr. Strasnick who has been often voted best of Hampton Roads. However, we also go her for there ease of getting into the office and that is usually a pitfall of pediatricians, especially on Mondays. Another reason is office sick visits that start at 7:30 AM, no appointment required, this is rare folks. Also, she has a great supporting cast of experienced physicians around her, important when your doctor may be on vacation etc. This is now our 10th year with Sentara Pediatric Physicians. I have recommended them to many friends, several who now have there children as patients. I often get thanked by these friends because they know the difference and in some cases had made changes. Our family has been happy with their care and I think yours would be too

Located off of the intersection of General Booth Blvd, Princess Anne Rd, and Tuscany Dr., Sentara…read morePediatric Physicians - General Booth is one of several Virginia Beach pediatric offices through Sentara. We found their pediatric PCP services to be of great quality from the doctors to nurses/techs to admin support and would recommend them! -- Insurance Know-How -- We have Optima (owned by Sentara) and haven't had any issues. Well-baby visits have $0 co-pay, and the billing and insurance for any other sick, etc. visits continue to go smoothly. -- Notes and Printouts from the Visit -- Sentara Pediatric Physicians consistently provides printouts regarding the services from that day's visit along with info/resources about child development milestones as they apply to our child. One nice feature is the parent/guardian can access the notes via the MyChart site/app (and even schedule appointments or add upcoming appointments to your calendar, etc.). -- Scheduling Appointments -- This office schedules in-person and tele-health appointments (the latter depending on the need for the appointment) pretty quickly. I can generally get an appointment for our child within a week, and a more urgent appointment the same or next day. I've found their lines are sometimes (on several occasions) still on the after hours service 15 minutes before they close and 15 minutes after they've opened, but I don't call often enough to know if this is the norm/procedure. If you speak to an after-hours nurse, they log a note in the system which helps with continuity of care when you follow-up with the pediatrician. -- Staff -- As of this writing, there are 3 pediatricians working out of this office. The pediatricians have their own team (nurses, admin staff). We've predominantly worked with one of the teams, but when our regular pediatrician was unavailable for a time-sensitive (non-emergency) issue, the nurse and team was able to coordinate with another one of the pediatricians to get our child's needs met. All of the staff have been warm and helpful. Our pediatrician doesn't rush appointments and takes time to answer questions. Some of their information might not be the most current/cutting edge on specialized topics, but they genuinely try to do all they can to help, including referrals to specialists (which balances the previous concern out, and I don't expect a doctor providing PCP services can be a specialist in everything.) -- Environment -- Their offices are clean with well-maintained furnishings. There is little to no noise traffic that you can hear within the exam rooms. The waiting area includes a main section, a separate section for newborns/infants, and a separate section for sick visits, which is appreciated. -- Conclusions -- Ultimately this place was a good fit for us. There are a lot of positives, including the knowledgeable staff and the opportunity to have time to discuss questions with our child's doctor.

I have had multiple issues with this practice (mostly including incredibly rude front desk staff…read moreand extremely difficult to schedule appointments for kiddos). But, I'm only reviewing the reason I FINALLY decided to pull my 3 children (ages 11, 4, and 1) from this practice and seek care elsewhere. My youngest is 1 and since February, we've had a hospitalization for breathing issues and several ear infections. After our hospitalization (which was a few thousand dollars out of pocket cost) we had several appointments with town center pediatrics for follow ups and recurrent ear infections. Each time at check-in, I was told that there was no co-pay even though I was fully ready to pay, what I assumed, would be a $30 co-pay each time. I assumed that we had met our deductible since we had just had quite an expensive hospitalization. Today, may 9, I made an appointment for my baby girl at 11am for yet another ear infection. At check-in, I was notified that we had a $90 balance, for which we have never received a bill. I was speaking with Michelle W (office supervisor) who SERIOUSLY lacks customer service skills to be sitting in a chair at the front desk. She was condescending, rude, and an absolute thorn throughout the entire encounter. I forgot my wallet so I had no way to pay at check in and asked if I could request another bill. I asked why I had not received one yet if these were all charges from 2 months ago and Michelle told me that they don't send bills for co-pays. This is absolutely NOT true as we have received and paid bills in the past for co-pays. I explained to her that I was told on several occasions that there was no co-pay due and she pinned that negligence on me saying I was responsible for paying even if I was told there was nothing to be paid (make that make sense). She excused herself for 8 minutes to speak with the provider who ultimately decided to cancel our appointment for a sick 1 year old. I was then told (not before arriving but after it was already now 10 minutes past our appointment time) that they were no longer seeing patients without a co-pay being paid beforehand. I understand the implementation of this practice is necessary sometimes, however prior notice would have been nice. The outright denial of patient care for a sick infant was the final straw for me. Enough is enough. Town Center Pediatrics only cares about your money. They do not care about your kids. I highly encourage any parent to seek care elsewhere for their children, where they are not just a number or a dollar sign. Update: spoke with my husband and we 100% have met our deductible for the year.

The office if located on the second floor. Once you enter, you are greeted with bright colors, beach scenery painted on the walls, and plenty of seating. The front waiting area is clean and they have an area for sick children and well children. The staff is super friendly and I noticed that many of the nurses knew the kids that were there by their first names. The doctors are great too. We've been going to Town Center Pediatrics since our baby was born but usually visit their second office off Pembroke Blvd. They will be closing the second location to rebuild somewhere off Independence Blvd so this will be the only office open for awhile. But that's okay because it's new, convenient for us, and spacious with lots of exam rooms. I recommend Town Center Pediatrics to anyone searching for a doctor for their little one. They accept most insurances too.
