I just wrote a review which included my experience with Dr. Ciccotti under Rothman Institute. To…read morethrow my two cents in here too I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Ciccotti. I tore my ACL in April, had surgery in late May and am back to walking normally now in July. Though he is the Phillies head physician he was down to earth and extremely helpful. Obviously he is a wonderful surgeon based on how my knee is feeling now. Would definitely highly recommend him to others needing to see an orthopedist.

The first time I went i had a peroneal nerve injury at the top of my fibular head. He could not diagnose and and gave me a cortisone injection which took the pain away for about a day. I had to go to another doctor to figure out what was happening. around 8 years later I went back to him b/c I had severe pain in both of my knees after hurting them both playing basketball one day. I had gone to one doctor Larry Miller who had done minor scopes on my right and left knees earlier and Dr. Miller could not figure out what was wrong. I was in tremendous pain and limping with both legs depending on the day. Dr. Ciccotti could not figure out what the problem was either. I then had to go to Dr. Mitch Friendman also of Jefferson who told me that all the problems were in my head and that there was nothing wrong with me. I then went to a 4th doctor in Farmington, CT to get a 4th opinion. I then sent my MRIs to a 5th doctor, Keith Meister (the orthopedic surgeon of the Texas Rangers Baseball Club who also verified that I had a tear of some sort in my right knee. I then went back to Dr. Ciccotti to see if he would do the surgery and he declined saying that he would not perform surgery on a knee that was previously operated on... I then went back to Dr., Meister and he recommended Dr. Paul Sethi of Greenwich, CT. Seeing all of these doctors was over an 8 month period while I was in severe pain and depressed that the first 3 told me there was nothing wrong with me or that they couldn't find anything wrong. I I went up and saw Paul Sethi and he took a half hour with me to talk about what he saw on the MRIs. He said that there was definitely a cartilage tear and maybe a severe one in my right knee and that I might have had a minor tear of my later meniscus in my left knee. He said he could not promise me anything, but that he would do my best. When he went into my right knee he not only saw a tear of the right lateral meniiscus and a tear of the artitular cartelige that lines the femor in a weight bearing area. A part of the meniscus had torn off and rolled up into a little ball which caused the tear of the articular cartilage as well. He performed Microfracture surgery as well. I was on crutches for 5 week while I still needed surgery on my left knee. It took me 18 months for my rehab on my right knee to recover. I then had surgery on my right knee and it had a 5% lateral meniscus tear. Paul Sethi was with me the whole way while Dr. Ciccotti didn't even really try to help me. It's kind of frustrating to be a baseball agent and rooting for the Phillies your whole life and then to have the team Orthopedist not know what to do and then not want to help you. I am so lucky to have had Dr. Meister and Dr. Sethi take the time out and really help me when I need them. This review should really be one star, but that would be really vindictive. Well... this is my story. I am sure Dr. Ciccotti has helped many get back to health. He just didn't help me.

GIAMMATTEI from our pediatrician. The receptionist was actually extremely helpful in setting up an appointment for us the very next day. My son extol 9 days prior to this appointment hurt his leg while at the shore long story short we took him to the hospital in ocean city. Then our pediatrician. None of which could find why my sons leg was giving out ( completely buckling under him) and he had a severe limp. As a mother I'm worried out of my mind and finally we were able to see a specialist (or so I thought) they ordered more x rays as soon as we got there and got them done and went back to the office. DR FRANK GIAMMATTEI walked in and simply just said nope nothing came back on the X-rays he's fine. At this point I was about to cry and said why is my son limping and his leg giving out. This man didn't touch my sons leg once didn't watch him walk at all NOTHING. As I'm voicing my concern he was already walking out of the room and blew me and my fiancé off. I was LIVID. He told us to wait two weeks until we could possibly see him again. We couldn't wait and watch my poor son walk like he was so we took him to A.I DuPont hospital. They did 12 different X-ray pictures from his hip to his foot and about an hour later the head doctor comes in and tells me MY SONS LEG IS BROKEN!!! How the hell does a specialist miss a 2 year olds broken leg. Needless to say I will be asking to see the X-rays this "specialist" took and definitely let him know how he may need to give up practicing medicine because this experience was the worst I've ever felt with!!!!

Then the nurse told me they won't discuss my MRI over the phone, that I would need to drive another 40 minutes and pay another $140 copay just to tell me my results. When I asked why they can't just tell me on the phone (which is something even my cancer doctor does) she said "talk to your insurance" and scurried out of the room. I assumed my appt was over and left ‍ Overall an unpleasant, apathetic experience

During that entire time, they never performed an X-ray or proper imaging. I was repeatedly told that I had plantar fasciitis ( and I thought I did ) and was treated for that diagnosis. After continuing to have severe pain, I sought another opinion. An X-ray was finally done, and it showed that I actually have a bone spur. Because the correct diagnosis was missed for so long, the condition has worsened and I now need surgery. Instead of identifying the root cause of the problem, my pain was simply masked with temporary treatments. If proper imaging had been done earlier, this could have been diagnosed and treated appropriately. as soon as the podiatrist touched my ankle and foot he said he could feel the problem lets take a xray to confirm he touched my foot and knew .... I would strongly encourage others to seek a provider who performs thorough evaluations and proper diagnostic testing before making a long-term diagnosis. i went monthly to this doctor office and never did they do any imagining. New doc did an image 5 minutes walking in front door and showed me the issues immediately and said this could have been avoided or at least not as painful and or bad... DO NOT GO HERE . Dr Monaco do better, get xrays and get patients help, don't mask issues. How could you not feel the issues the podiatrists immediately knew ...
