I have HORRIBLE allergies that can cause my eyes to swell shut to causing vertigo. I was concerned that the smell of foam spray would be an issue. We used Great Lakes Roofing for a minor roofing repair. Our mistake was that we did not get a…read morewritten estimate before the work was performed. We were told that the repair would require two workmen at $90/hour, which we were okay with since we wanted the work done quickly. The guys arrived on time and were polite and seemed to work quickly. All that was required was some caulking around the chimney flashing and the guys left for a total of about 30 minutes of actual time they were at our home. The bill came a couple weeks later at $525 ! The bill was not itemized, so we called for clarification. There was time for travel, okay, fine. There were materials such as gloves, caulk. Okay, makes sense, but still does not add up. "Oh and don't forget the $250 service charge." A service charge that was never mentioned until we questioned the bill. There are plenty of upfront and honest roofing contractors out there We will not be using Great Lakes again.

Please stay away from this company. They are rip-off artists. I asked them to caulk around 7…read morewindows, and had no idea a bill for $900 would come for 7 hours of labor. When I called to say they weren't here 7 hours and why would it take so long to caulk around 7 windows, they could not justify it, but wouldn't budge on the cost. I asked them to work with me, telling them I wanted to pay the bill at a reasonable rate, but they wouldn't do anything, even though they couldn't justify the cost. Stay away from this company. You will be sorry.
