What can I say - it's a Premier Inn and they are pretty standard. I like a Premier Inn and this one definitely comes up to the mark.
The room was a fair size, and had all the usual stuff you need - telly, kettle, hairdryer etc. Nice and clean as usual, and a very comfy bed. Good sound proofing too - you really can't hear a peep from outside, so it does make for a good night's sleep.
This one is walking distance from the city centre - maybe 20 minutes. It's not the nearest one to the city centre, but this one has free parking, which is very handy. I wouldn't have felt comfortable walking in by myself at night, as it's not a busy street - we didn't pass many other people, and it goes through an underpass. which I'm always a bit wary of. Also during the day we passed 2 chaps settling down on the street for a drink - it's next to the river so what do you expect - I think a lot of cities are the same. They weren't causing any hassle, but I guess some people might feel a bit vulnerable in this sort of area by themself. But I had my partner with me so it was OK. It would be only a few mins into the centre in a taxi. Having the car parking was good too, as while we walked most places, there were a few out of town places we wanted to visit too, so this Premier Inn was a convenient base.
It's only a few minutes walk from the river and the Millenium Bridge, which makes for a nice walk - lovely at night when it's all lit up.
Reception staff were very friendly, and while we really were just in and out for a quick stay, we enjoyed it. read more
