Explaining to him that my husband was in the hospital and I didn't want the noise or mess when he got home. After a month of setting up four appointments and no one showing up or calling me I canceled the job. He always an excuse or said I misunderstood him. He refused to return my $900 deposit. I took him to court in front of Colleen Mancuso , and won the verdict. He appealed. Two lawyers told me it was not worth it for me to hire them, for only $900 and $200 Court cost. Mr. DePolo knows how to work the court system. When I remarked to employee in the magistrates office that he is a menace, she said he has been there a number of times. So I lost $900 and wasted my time. Ended up going with LA Stone. They did a beautiful job one and a half weeks. Please look at the reviews on other sites also. I wish I had!!

His business practices are very deceptive. He doesn't follow through with his commitments. We have been strung along for many weeks with promises and excuses. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt as he seemed like a very nice elderly business owner, I would much rather deal with a local business over the big box stores. Until my finial visit. He again gave excuses for not having the work done, at that time I said enough and I'll take my business else wear. He became very rude, mumbled comments and made hand gestures as to get out... WOW, even though the big box store may not have the best customer service I don't believe they would act in that manner. I have written many reviews but I have never said buyer beware and keep away, UNTIL NOW... Keep away from this deceptive and rude business owner. It appears I'm not the only one saying this, guess I should have looked at the reviews of this establishment before ordering. OH WELL definite life lesson. This business owner is a definite POS

Ok bottom line - call them. Period end of discussion. Even if you are in NYC like we are!…read more Roger and his team are the only people I will recommend without reservation from our renovation. There work was careful, extraordinary, fast and beyond reasonably priced. They not only made us a great counter and backsplash they installed it with ease. The difficulty of our space is there isn't a flat or straight wall in our 1929 apartment. These guys cut a piece of stone perfectly for us. From initial conversation to measurements to two installs within one week (first counter then the backsplash) these guys were easy to deal with. Roger is great, his office staff quick to respond and clearly one of the best decisions of this whole process to use him! Good? Call him - NOW!

We had a deeply disappointing experience with Artistic Stone and, based on that experience, cannot…read morerecommend them. We hired Artistic Stone to replace our kitchen countertops and fireplace hearth with quartz and chose to extend the quartz up the kitchen walls for a seamless backsplash. To prepare, we removed our existing white subway tile. Although our installation was already delayed due to an "installer emergency," the situation worsened on installation day. Three of the four pieces arrived cut incorrectly, leaving large, noticeable gaps around the fireplace and along the kitchen walls. The installers attempted to persuade us to accept the pieces as they were, which was unacceptable given the cost of the project. After they contacted their team, they attributed the mistakes to their templating software and accepted no responsibility. That same day--for the very first time--we were informed that our cabinet trim would have to be removed for the quartz backsplash to be installed, as they were unwilling to cut around it. This had not been mentioned at any point during six weeks of communication or even during the in‑home templating appointment just a week and a half earlier. Because removing the trim risked damaging our cabinets (which were glued and screwed together), we had no choice but to abandon the quartz backsplash plan entirely and reinstall subway tile--bringing us back to our original setup at roughly twice the cost, which we had to arrange ourselves. When we attempted to speak to the owner about these issues, we were told he was "off the grid." When he eventually called from a blocked number, he did not provide his name. When we requested compensation for the incorrect cuts, delays, and added expenses, we were told they were already "eating the cost" of recutting the pieces--even though the mistakes were theirs alone. After several days of back‑and‑forth, the only concession offered was a minimal discount of a few hundred dollars, despite our paying nearly $13,000. We were initially told the process from templating to installation would take 4-6 business days. Instead, it extended beyond two weeks, and we were forced to move into our new home with no backsplash, no sink, and no functioning cooktop. In our opinion, Artistic Stone was disorganized, unprofessional, and unwilling to take responsibility for their errors. Communication was poor, the mistakes were substantial, and the resolution offered was inadequate. We do not take leaving a negative review lightly, but given the significant investment of time, money, and stress involved, we feel it is necessary to share our experience.

This included refacing cabinet…read moreboxes, installing new (Maple) doors, drawers, and drawer boxes with all associated hardware, new quartz countertops, and a new 16 gauge double bowl stainless steel sink. Overall, we were very pleased with Jeff, his company (Anew Face Kitchens LLC), his craftsmen (Mike & Walter), and the finished product. Jeff stopped by the house several times and spent numerous hours with us to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. He even went so far as to special order a sample door of the same wood species, style and finish, so we could see exactly what we were getting before we got it. This alone was well worth the (several week) wait because we would know in advance exactly what we would get and how it would blend with the backsplash, countertops, ceiling and floor. Jeff offered us several substantial discounts from the total price which was already less than the other contractors we spoke with. Jeff, Mike and Walter were always on time and on schedule. Mike and Walter are outstanding craftsmen, working hard all day, each day, and their skill is reflected in the finished product. I was just a bit surprised to learn that some of the items used in our remodel contained Engineered Wood Products such as High Density Fiberboard (HDF) etc. I assumed that since we paid quite a bit for the job, we would be getting 100% natural wood products. I asked Jeff about this and he explained how and why the Engineered Wood Products were used in our job. Future customers may wish to verify materials before an agreement is made. Overall the finished product exceeded our expectations and we would not hesitate to recommend or to hire again, Jeff and his crew from Anew Face Kitchens. They positively came through with 100% of what they promised, on time, and with no damage to any existing kitchen surfaces. Thanks Very Much Barb and Joe

We reface your cabinets with solid wood doors in many wood species like maple, cherry, oak, hickory and more. We can use any color stains and solid color finishes you choose. Solid painted finishes in whites, grays, blues and greens are very popular at this time. Stained finishes where you see the grain of the wood are also very popular. Our process uses all wood to cover your existing cabinets with the same finish as our wood doors so everything matches and looks like a brand new kitchen at a fraction of the cost.

We had them do a full bathroom renovation done and some things did not go right which we were…read moredisappointed with. They didn't put a mortar bed under our shower pan or some other material for support so now it flexes and creaks loudly. The spackle is uneven with indentations and some screw heads showing through and wasn't sanded properly. The shower drain connection wasn't secured correctly which led to a leak in our living room ceiling. They fixed it and patched the ceiling but now we need to repaint the whole ceiling to cover the patch work. They cut a hole in our bedroom wall to adjust the shower valve without talking to me about it beforehand and bought paint to try to match our bedroom ceiling wall which they didn't need to do as we had leftover paint for our bedroom if they had just asked us. They didn't remove enough of the old uneven subfloor in the bathroom area even after I pointed it out to their employees and now the new laminate floor flexes up and down when it should be flat and level on a solid base. We had to repaint the bathroom ceiling because their employee only put 1 coat of paint or primer on it. Not a big deal but was more work that i felt we shouldn't have had to do. They new bathroom door doesn't seem to have been installed correctly because we just had some humid weather and it was sticking so much the top part of the veneer on the door started to come apart. I had to sand the door frame area so that we didn't have to jam the door closed. There is some missing caulk around the top of the shower surround where it meets the walls on either end. We were without a toilet for 11 straight days and only have one bathroom. We were told up front that the new toilet could be set in place by end of the first week. The job went almost $10K over the initial contract largely because the employee assigned to our job was too young and inexperienced in my personal opinion to run a full reno job on his own and it drew out the project for too long and cost us far more in labor than it should have. We had no tile work done and yet this job took almost 4-1/2 weeks to gut a bathroom/closet area. We were expecting it to be done in 3 weeks time even with updating the plumbing in the bathroom. The owner didn't come back to do a final walkthrough after he told us he would. Possibly because he had some personal things going on but we were disappointed that no follow up occurred at the time. We requested some money back after fulfilling our financial obligation. I don't see this happening but to be fair he has reached out to us and shown willingness to correct some things which is appreciated. They obviously have satisfied customers in the area with a number of positive reviews. If these things had all been corrected before the job was finished, I really wouldn't have any complaints. At this point we hope to just get the shower base corrected to stop the creaking since it's the area of most concern. In all fairness and objectivity, our bathroom & closet area is far better now than the dated 1960s/70s look we had before but the finish work just wasn't up to our standards for how much we ended up paying. I assume some of it isn't up to the owners standards either but he wasn't the one doing the job. What i've learned through the renovation process is to be insistent and adamant in telling a contractor what you want or if you see something not being done the way you want it and don't be afraid to ask questions and express concerns. When you're paying a lot of $$ make sure you get things done the way you want before the job is finished. it will save yourself and the contractor a lot of headache and less frustration or hard feelings.
