I've walked past this deli for years thinking it was just another tourist trap. Was I wrong. Finally came in to order the Corned Beef Special and was blown away. This is one of the best deli sandwiches I've ever had. First. It's huge. Big stack of pastrami. Second. It's juicy as all heck. I didn't watch them make it but I swear they dunked the meat in some juice. It was so moist I'm sure if I squeezed it there would be drips. Third. Delicious. Great taste. Meat was delicious. Beefy. Coleslaw was a nice dressing to it. As was the Russian dressing. Tip. Ask for melted cheese and grill the bread. This was phenomenal. Will definitely be back as I'm always in the area. read more

Premier Deli Cafe - Corned Beef Special Sandwich - Delis Near Me - New York, New York

Premier Deli Cafe in 7th Avenue is known for its sandwiches, namely Reuben and Corned Beef Sandwiches. I ordered the Reuben Sandwich. It was huge and so good!!! Generous servings of tasty and tender Corned Beef. My son had the Philly Cheesesteak and it was good and huge sandwich as well. If you don't like corned beef, they have a lot of sandwich choices in the menu, and I think they are all good! Service was fast. The place was amazing with all these memorabilias from the years operating the store. It is displayed all over the place and bring back memories to regular and loyal customers. Casual and cozy ambiance, it gets busy most of the time. Location is great as it is close to most of the hotels so you can always walk to the store if you're hungry and craving for a good and filling sandwich! Check it out! read more

Don't go here. Food isn't very good. Had the worst egg sandwich of my life. Soggy, gooey mess. My wife's omelet just as bad. No wonder this place was empty. So many other choices nearby, we should have done some research first. read more

Shhhh. Secret place for late night dessert! I know this place is known for its sandwiches, but we felt peckish late in the evening after Christmas tree gazing at Rockefeller Plaza and dropped in. Midtown Manhattan urban lunches - 2 of 2 I don't remember which trip this was, but it was recent enough. I was in Midtown Manhattan walking up Fifth Avenue in front of a "certain tower," passed in front of the Plaza Hotel, and followed the southern edge of Central Park before turning south on Seventh Avenue. I needed to go to the bathroom. Manhattan is not Overland Park, Kansas where you just park your car, walk into any chain eatery, and help yourself to a reasonably clean restroom. I knew I also needed to eat and I went into Premier Deli Café, a place that seems popular, is on some lists, and looked enticing enough. Upon entering, there is a deli counter. Some sandwiches, which looked appetizing, are already made or they can make one for you. I looked at the hefty sandwiches and, for the privilege of using the restroom, decided to eat somewhere else later but settled on a big slice of Oreo cheesecake and an iced tea. That's because Premier was a little expensive. If this place is in Midtown Manhattan and thriving, you know they're not going to screw up any kind of cheesecake or their deli sandwiches. Premier Deli's cheesecake was very good. The service was subpar, as mentioned by others, and, if eating in, you would carry your things on a tray and you could eat upstairs. It was clean upstairs, as was the restroom, which required a code. This thing with finding restrooms can be a problem, whether in New York or major European cities like Rome, because you just can't walk in and use a restroom, unless it's one of those operated by the city for which you'd pay a dollar or a Euro, respectively. And, as for their cleanliness, your mileage may vary. I'm going to go with 3 stars here. Premier Deli Café has a good location and it's nice enough inside. What food I ate is standard for this metropolitan area, so I'll acknowledge that it was fine. The service was indifferent and, if looking at their menu board, you can see that the prices next to some listed items are high, which is to be expected for its "location-location-location" factor. read more

I like fancy, and this is not fancy, however, but they have is good. They have a counter and no matter how many customers they have and moves pretty fast. We went in and we ordered. Luckily, my husband asked if they had gluten-free bread and they do. This is a contrast from my previous visit where people didn't even know what that was. They did have sandwich bread, and I asked if they could make a sandwich and was told that I could. I asked for a grilled cheese with bacon And a cane and be honest. It was a bit on the small side, however, it was chopped full of bacon. So it was actually quite filling for me and I was satisfied with it. They didn't ask me what kind of cheese I wanted, but he put American cheese, which is probably what I would've ordered so that's fine. My husband got his omelette. That was OK. He got a latte. He thought it was respectable my order? My only issue was my mocha, which was really sweet and I don't know didn't taste that great. I drank most of it, but I should've gone across the street for a mocha. This place is much bigger than I thought it was. I saw two small tables in the main floor and two women were sitting at one and when my husband said he wanted to eat food here I thought he was crazy. But he noticed that there was an upstairs with plenty of tables. And that place was packed. But as people ate, they cleared the places. And the nice part is that people came by who worked there and they would wipe down the tables and wipe around the chairs and stuff. So it's pretty clean. I definitely come here again for a sandwich, but I probably wouldn't come here for an espresso drink because mine wasn't great. But they're open and the food was good and I'm satisfied.! read more

This is a solid choice for any deli sandwich. I've had the pastrami Reuben and the turkey sandwich here. Both solid, especially if you eat it right away. The real standouts at this place are the desserts. The carrot cake has an outstanding cream cheese frosting that's perfectly sweet--not overly sweet like some of the delis nearby. Also, the berry Napoleon is a must-have. read more

If you ask one egg they charge you for the whole meal like 20 dollars (egg, sausage, vege, etc) and you have to ask them and argue to pay the actual worth of egg. Seriously, if you guys don't sell only egg then tell customers that you don't. Don't say you can do it and charge for the whole meal with that attitude. The same thing happened to three people in our team during this trip. I hope i can get a refund for at least what I paid extra. That's the reason why I am leaving the comment. I told them in person but they said I got 2 eggs so i need to pay 20 dollars which doesnt make sense and it got confirmed with two other people on the team. Communication skill is needed read more

I almost walked out... and I'm giving them 5 stars! If you want a shortcut answer because you're starving and need to decide, just pull the trigger. These guys know their way around a grill and from what I see, sandwiches, salads, breakfast, lunch, dinner, you name it. So just go. You're welcome. Don't get me wrong. I almost walked out my second visit there. I had lunch one day, then, 2 days later, remembered how good it was and went out of my way, rode the subway all the way up from Times Square just to come back. The problem was they told me I couldn't have what I ordered the previous day... The previous day, I had a simple mushroom omelette (which was so good and I was so hungry I didn't bother to take the extra time to snap a pic of it! ) and it was served over the most amazing diner home fries and with buttered toast, generous on the butter (a criterion of mine). It was so good that when I was hungry a couple days later, I craved it and went uptown just to get it. Long story short I was upset when I was told they were unable to make the home fries and offered me French fries. Ow I was hungry, mind you, and so I became a little hangry. The owner or manager was at the register and when he saw I was ready to leave and learned I had come up town just to eat there again, he went back and made my meal -- SPECIAL FOR ME -- just the way I ordered it prior! And on top of that it was completely fresh and hot off the grill even better than the prior occasion. Dude, you got my business for life! I promised you a review on my way out the door and here it is. 5 stars and you deserve them all. The little attention to detail and knowing your people is key and speaks worlds of who you are. The rest shows in the quality of your food. Thanks and I'll be going out of my way more often to visit! read more

Can't even speak to whether the food tastes good or not. Because I left without ordering. I gathered orders for a group of 4 based on the menu on the website. More than half of the online menu doesn't even exist in the shop, so I had to get everyone to change their order. Then the guy at the counter tried to get me to choose something pre-made instead. He was being super pushy and rude. I tried to order an Italian with no tomatoes or vinegar, and they refused, said they were premade and wouldn't change it. I was practically scolded for asking. There are far too many delis around to make this one worth the hassle. read more

For a quick caffeine pick-me-up or a bite on the go, this place is a great option if you happen past it. They also have a cafe area on the second floor if you're looking to work for a bit or hang out. The drinks are good enough to get you by and the bakery has large muffins. Service is fast and satisfactory. Overall the place is less fluff and more functional than many other places can say. read more

We were looking for a new york cheesecake and came upon this place. They had a wide variety of desserts and food items but we were only interested in the cheesecake. I got the strawberry cheesecake and it was delicious. The cheesecake itself was pretty dense. The interesting part was that the cake doesn't have a crust underneath. This place was solid but I might try other cheesecakes to compare. read more

The staff is friendly, the breakfast sandwich that I have is always good and reasonably priced. The establishment is clean.

Premier Deli, I visit often for breakfast. I suggest everything because the food is that good. I usually order the French Toast, scrambled eggs & bacon or Scrambled Eggs, Bacon & toast. Lunch is just as great here! I've had the shrimp salad sandwich or tuna sandwich, cheeseburgers etc. Here the have healthy food for everyone's palette even vegetarians. The cooks here are friendly, and amazing cooks. Oh, let's not forget the pastries I shouldn't eat. I've had the caramelized tart located beneath the cashier counter. Yum Yum! Cleanliness: it's a clean restaurant but the potato chip shelf near the tables on the 1st floor are often dusty and need a little TLC. Sometimes, you may have to wipe down the tables after the customers leave bc they're, so busy they forget to clean up after customers. The reason for (4) Stars. Other than that, I recommend this deli for a quick tasty bite in Midtown going towards Central Park. read more

The chicken parm panini, featuring ground chicken, looked like a delicious, nourishing dinner. I ordered it and walked two blocks home. The panini was still cold and the cheese was unmelted. Here I go again in New York City looking for where the good food resides. I was like the New Yorkens, walking fast, jaywalking and cutting between cars. Yeah, I had to blend in. I'm peeping through windows, looking like a Tourist. I get to Premier Deli Cafe, looking thru the window and the line was at least 10 deep. Oh yeah bingo!! I go in and truthfully I was in the way, here I am in line maybe 3 minutes and my turn to order. Let me tell you something, those customers knew exactly what they wanted. Here it is my turn, I'm saying umm, ok wait, I thought I knew what I wanted. The guy behind the counter laughed at me and asked where I was from? I smiled and said let me get out of line, I changed my mind again. I go back to the end of the line and dang my turn again. Once again, umm, I think, umm, how about, no ummm. I decided on the club sandwich, I ordered it to my liking. 3 minutes later, I received my sandwich freshly prepared as I waited for it. (They did not offer Dr. pepper in a fountain drink either!) As I was headed out the door, I turned around and got me a Coffee cake. I sprinted to my bus, oh yeah I'm gonna eat now I thought to myself. I unwrapped the paper and it was perfectly made. The bread was not to thick, not too meaty, just the right amount of vegetables and mustard as well. See with that kind of sandwich you open wide so you can taste all the scrumptiousness in one bite. I'm chumping away and guess what NOOO CHIPS, I forgot the chips!!! Dang it, I cheated myself out of chewing the sandwich and stuffing chips in my mouth at the same time. Y'all now what I'm talking about, you do it too lol. I've never said this about any restaurant I've eating at, Premier Deli Cafe should be a tourist attraction. They also offer lattes, coffee and all that good stuff. Premier Deli Cafe gets 5 stars from me. read more

Quintessential nyc deli/corner store. The sandwiches are so good that I couldn't stop eating them. The reuben was my favorite and was packed with meat. The chopped cheese is an nyc classic and always hits the spot especially hungover. The food comes out quick so if there is a line you will get through quick. Very rude staff especially at the cash register. Charged whatever they wanted. The guy whispered something under his breath and when I asked what? he said "nothing". No customer service at all. Bacon, egg, cheese French toast sandwich was great! Bagels were fresh. Drop by and grab a quick bite. No complaints here.

LOVE this place! Premier Deli was a "go-to" for us during our stay in NYC theater district. Highly recommend! It has a small seating area on the main floor and a generous seating area (with bathrooms) upstairs. You order back by the grill and make your way to the front to pay. Their big case of "sandwich creations" (tons of choices of breads & combos) and desserts made it hard to decide! There's a large selection of refrigerated beverages, including beer. The refrigerated section also has cheese, fruit, combos, and more. There's also shelves of snacks (nuts, trail mix, cholocate-covered this/that, etc). All at good prices for NYC! The staff: super nice! There was only 1 open table on the 1st floor and it had only one chair. My mom couldn't do the stairs: They kindly & swiftly got us another chair. When I asked their specialty, "Pastrami" was the immediate answer, SO... REUBEN: Loaded with pastrami; absolutely delicious! I was "hangry," and can't believe I ate the whole thing! This was at about 3pm: Ended up skipping dinner, lol! TUNA WRAP: "unique" - has olives and advocado. My small-appetite mom aalso got a cup of chicken noodle soup and saved 1/2 of the wrap for lunch the next day. TURKEY and CHEESE PANINI: Yum! Paired with a bowl of chicken rice soup, my mom & I shared this satisfying lunch another day. Oh, guess their one negative: the pickles suck. I'm not a big pickle eater, so it didn't matter to me/my rating. Coffee was better than our hotel's and less expensive than other places. Premier Deli: a worthy neighborhood fixture! read more
