We have a large (100+ pounds) 2 year old rescue pup who is great at home, but struggles with…read moreoverarousal around new people and other dogs. After our local training place closed we were looking for other options and committed to positive reinforcement training. Unfortunately a lot of trainers use aversives, especially with large strong dogs. We were so excited to find Julia, and after our meet & greet we were confident she was a good choice. Julia did a 2 week board & train with our dog while we were traveling, mainly focusing on leash skills and practicing calm behavior around exciting things. We noticed an immediate improvement, but have also been continuing to work on the training at home after our follow up. I'm happy to report that we are continuing to see improvement using Julia's methods.

First off, PLEASE DISREGARD MY FIRST REVIEW. I was so worried about her breathing, I wrote it very…read moreimpulsively and I was so scared. It was a very unfair and extremely inaccurate review. So the REAL TRUE REVIEW IS..... If you are looking for Veterinarians who truly, truly care about your furry baby or babies this is a very special Animal Hospital. Yesterday I took my little maltese in for the first time, and we were so blessed to be seen by Dr. David Balderrama. What an incredible Dr. and a wonderful experience. He actually read Sofi's chart before coming in! He evaluated her WHOLE picture instead of just telling me that her liver is enlarged and only has 3 months to live as a prior Vet had said. I feel so relieved that she really is in good hands. Thank you Dr. Balderrama and all at Woodside Animal Hospital for being so kind, caring, compassionate and amazing!

I left Woodside Animal Hospital disappointed in both my dog's care and their follow-up…read more I brought my dog in specifically for a growth on his paw. After an assistant gathered his information in the exam room, she said she would take him into the back for the veterinarian to examine him. Because he was scared, I asked to accompany him. At that point, the plan changed, and the veterinarian came into our room instead. The veterinarian then said they intended to muzzle him. My Lab/Golden Retriever mix is very gentle, so I questioned the need. The exam proceeded without a muzzle, but the veterinarian said she could not find the growth--the very reason for our appointment. When I got home, I immediately found the growth myself, photographed it, and emailed the hospital with my concerns and a request to refund the exam fee. They replied that they were escalating the matter to their chief of staff. A week later, I still have not received any follow-up. I understand that veterinary staff may use muzzles for safety, but I expect clear communication about how my dog will be handled. This experience left me concerned about what would have happened out of my sight and undermined my trust in their care. Between the unsuccessful examination and the lack of follow-through on my complaint, I did not receive the attentive, compassionate service I expected. I will be looking elsewhere for veterinary care.

These one star reviews are disingenuous at best and flat out lies at worst. He very obviously cares…read moreabout birds, and is also extremely knowledgeable. I take care of my parents' 20+ year old African Grey when they are out of town (which is a lot, since they own a RV). My parents live in Port Orchard and have used Todd various times at POPP before, but I had no direct experience with him or his shop until recently. I left the bird with Todd to be boarded for just over a week. I brought food, but didn't need to. I did bring some toys out of her cage per Todd's recommendation. He took care of the rest. As far as the shop goes, he has a great selection of the Volkmann bird seed which is not only a very good seed, but the only one that our Grey happens to eat (she eats a variety of human food too). When I picked up the bird and took her home, she seemed happy and healthy, and immediately settled into her routine at my house as soon as we got home. Based on the high level of care I witnessed from boarding, I wouldn't hesitate to use Todd for any of the other services offered--and I will certainly be boarding with him again in the future.

So when I picked her up they showed me her tail and said something about a gland. Nothing about the fact that they had cut her tail . Het tail has been oozing all night and day. I was lied to. Nothing like this has ever happened before and my dog has been getting groomed for the last 5 years every month. I do not recommend this place at all!
