The convention…read morecenter itself is very clean and when we had a bridal event at this location the staff here was organized, had linen table cloths on all of our tables, names were labeled clearly so we were able to find our vendor section easily and there were a good handful of strapping men to help load all of our vendor materials to our booth. Parking was not a problem here either. The show at this location went smoothly with absolutely no hiccups. I recommend this convention center for either small or large scale events as the staffing here can assist in both in an effective and professional manner. 5 stars!

We hired Elegant Events to officiate our wedding, and boy were we happy we did! As two woman…read moregetting married in the state of Florida, we weren't really sure how the process of getting an officiant would go. We were referred to Elegant Events by one of our other vendors, and Betty immediately answered all of our questions and was very responsive to our emails. We hired Allen to be our officiant, and he did a wonderful job!! He was so sweet and really was exactly what we were looking for to find in the person that would be standing up there with us as we said our "I Do's" :) In hindsight, as we just received our pictures back last night and noticed this, the only thing I wish was different was that both our names were spelled wrong on the binder that Allen read off of. So now in all of our photos at the alter you see "Kaitlin & Brandy" instead of "Katelin & Brandi." During the Ceremony, Allen accidently said "Candy" instead of "Brandi", but that was humorous and we all laughed so if anything it was nice because it helped calm our nerves, but this is something a little more permanent as it is in a lot of our important pictures (especially zoomed in ones of our hands when we are putting on rings). I am sure this was an oversight, and in the grand scheme of things is pretty minor, but I wish there was a little more attention paid to this detail on their parts. Didn't ruin the wedding or photos (not everything can go right in a wedding), but just something that I would recommend to other brides to check for so it doesn't happen in your wedding as well. Other than that, we truly did have a great experience with Elegant Events, and if we had to go back and choose an officiant all over, Allen would definitely be the one that we pick :) Thanks Betty and Allen for helping to make our day special!

I stayed at Island Shores Inn for just one night this past weekend. The receptionist was super nice…read moreand upgraded me to a room with a queen-sized bed instead of the full-sized that I was booked for. The room was just what I needed. The room had a television, a small closet space, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. This is a fairly no-frills motel, but it's within a reasonable proximity to the beach and other St. Augustine attractions. The motel itself also has a pool, but I opted to spend time at the beach instead of using it. My only gripes about the motel would be that the air conditioning unit was a bit noisy, but I was exhausted and that didn't stop me from sleeping. The sheets also had some pilling, which freaked me out when I first climbed into bed. Overall, Island Shores Inn gave me a comfortable place to sleep while I was in St. Augustine. I would definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in town.

The shampoos and lotions, etc, looked fancy schmancy. Also, the entire place was very quiet. And there's a pool that didn't seem to have any takers while I was there. The less good: This is an ugly, small, no-frills motel. When we drove up, my girlfriend thought I was joking. From the outside, it looks like a place that charges by the hour. The 1-Queen room was barely big enough to fit the bed which was covered by a thin, old blanket. The bathroom was maybe three feet from the bed and didn't have an exhaust fan. The mini fridge was so tiny it couldn't accommodate a box for a small pizza. The floor was not carpeted which was odd for a motel so far from the beach. This place is definitely run on a tight budget. When I tried to turn my room key in, the lobby door was locked with a note saying the employee was cleaning rooms. There is a Sleep Inn across the street, and if I ever attend an event at the amphitheater again, I will probably stay there. This was not a terrible stay by any means, but I paid $130 for one night months in advance, and I expected more.

Ladonna was even nice enough to accommodate an early pick up to avoid any issues with the new owners of the home.
