I have been seeing a pain management physician and he recommended, as part of my treatment, massage therapy as I was in constant pain. I was referred to Luz by a friend who had been a patient of Luz's in the past. I was initially apprehensive because Luz is a petite woman and I was not sure she would be able to get deep into the muscle tissue. After the first treatment I felt I made the right choice. I continued treatment 2-3x per week and along with her medical massages therapy skills and her soothing touch and 9 compassion, I always walk away feeling so much better than the time before. Luz is also very flexible with her scedule to make it convenient with appointments. I'm so happy I was referred to her and am feeling much better treatment after treatment. Thank you Luz.

This was my first visit to this traditional Chinese massage location inside the South Shore Mall…read more Upon arrival, I had to wait about 13 minutes past my appointment time while the room was being prepared. When booking, I specifically requested a female massage therapist, which is my personal preference. Once the room was ready, the massage began. The pressure was very deep and, at times, painful, though I wasn't sure if that was due to my own muscle tension or the therapist's technique. To her credit, she checked in several times, and I asked for softer pressure in some tender areas. The experience felt very different from massages I've had before, with techniques that seemed more traditional. They also incorporated gua sha tools and massage rollers, which were new to me. As the session went on, the pressure became more tolerable, and she provided a thorough head-to-toe massage. I left feeling a little sore but incredibly relaxed. A few things kept this from being a perfect experience. Since the spa is located inside the mall, there was no calming music playing, so voices from passing shoppers echoed into the space. Employees were also talking to one another between rooms, which made it harder to fully relax. Additionally, although I specifically requested a female therapist for my comfort, there was a brief switch midway through the massage while she assisted another client. The male therapist was professional and actually used pressure that I found more comfortable, but I still felt uneasy since it was not what I had requested. Overall, I did enjoy my experience and felt the staff were knowledgeable in massage techniques. With a quieter atmosphere and better attention to therapist preferences, I'd return, but I'd hope for a more relaxing environment next time.

While giving me the massage, the whole time she was taking calls in the room with me, or left to check out people, or talk to others in the tiny hallway!! Who does that for a massage? Extremely un-professional and That was NOT relaxing whatsoever. Then when it came time for me to check out, I gave her a small tip and she had the nerve to say to me "Is that all for a 2hr massage? So I added another $5.00 and she grumbled about it. I should have spoken up and told her my complaint but I was in disbelief and rather taken aback.
