We attempted to cleaned out the existing drains but the problem persisted. During heavy rain storms and the arrival of Hurricane Irma, we realized we had a major problem. (Note to homebuyers: ask current homeowners if they have any drainage problems. The previous homeowners never mentioned there was a drainage problem and nothing was listed in the inspection report). The drainage problem did not start when we bought it in August 2017, it was a problem that was ongoing for a long time. After meeting with several companies, I decided to go with John Madison Landscaping. We are very pleased with the outcome and the problem has been resolved, thanks to John and his crew. (BTW, when the old drainage system was removed it was 100% clogged and the pipes were not joined together). A new drainage system was installed and Genelle (great employee) did an outstanding job overseeing the project, along with the crew. They suggested several modifications to the drainage situation, which helped in correcting the problem and making the area look much better, especially with new pavers. My experience with this company has been extremely frustrating, unprofessional, and unacceptable. I signed a $34,000 contract and paid a $9,984 deposit on June 15, 2026. I was initially told approximately 4-6 weeks. Instead, I waited nearly FOUR MONTHS with NO work started, NO confirmed installation date, and NO consistent communication. I repeatedly had to chase this company for updates. On August 12, I contacted the owner because I hadn't heard anything since June. On September 11, I requested project information and was promised an update that never came. I had to call AGAIN on September 17 just to get a response. HERE'S THE MOST UNBELIEVABLE PART: On October 7, after almost four months of waiting, I finally told the owner I was CANCELING. Suddenly, everything changed! The owner immediately claimed they could start the following week. Then, on October 8, the office suddenly sent an email about scheduled material deliveries. FOUR MONTHS OF WAITING, BUT THE MOMENT I CANCEL, EVERYTHING SUDDENLY STARTS MOVING? WHERE WAS THIS URGENCY BEFORE? Even in that October 8 email, they still couldn't confirm when all the fireplace materials would arrive! Now the company is trying to justify its communication by pointing to emails sent on September 17 and October 8. What they conveniently leave out is that the September email came AFTER I repeatedly contacted them, and the October email came AFTER I had already canceled! I HAVE RECORDS OF EVERYTHING: text messages with the owner, dated emails, call history, payment records, and their own statements about the delays. I can document exactly when I requested updates, when I canceled, and when they suddenly began scheduling materials. And after all of this, despite ZERO installation work performed and ZERO materials delivered to my property, they are insisting on keeping 30% of my deposit -- $2,995.20! They are using a cancellation clause to justify keeping my money, but I canceled because I had waited nearly four months without a reliable start date, NOT because I simply changed my mind. I DID NOT PAY NEARLY $10,000 TO BE LEFT WAITING INDEFINITELY! I have already demanded my full refund in writing. I am also preparing to report this experience to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and I intend to pursue legal action if necessary to recover every penny of my deposit. I will NOT voluntarily accept their 30% withholding. I have documented evidence of what happened, and I am prepared to present it through the appropriate legal channels. MY WARNING TO FUTURE CUSTOMERS: THINK TWICE BEFORE SIGNING ANYTHING OR HANDING OVER A LARGE DEPOSIT TO BIG PAVERS LLC. Update to our review of May 4, 2024…read more All the good things I had to say after Greg had his guys redo the poor first attempt at resurfacing our driveway last year went right out the window this morning. I first attempted to contact Greg via email to schedule the agreed upon annual inspection on June 4, 2025. After hearing nothing for a couple of weeks, he finally responded with a proposal on July 13th which detailed the work to be done at a cost to us of $500. We accepted the proposal that same day. Greg cautioned that he would schedule our work along with other jobs he had in the area, so there could be a wait - which was no problem for us. After hearing nothing for several weeks however, I asked for an update on August 25. He responded on August 28th that he currently had no projects scheduled for the "Deltona or Daytona" areas but would advise when he did. On October 7 he asked if "the next 4-6 weeks" would work for us, to which I immediately said yes, and requested a couple of days advance notice so I could power wash the driveway. Then nothing again for 8 weeks, so I asked again via email on December 7 for an update. Nothing again, so I called and talked directly to Greg on December 17. He was obviously surprised and less than happy to hear from me and arranged to come over on Monday morning 12/22 @ 9:00am to discuss the matter further. He arrived at 8:11 and apparently agitated about something. He then proceeded to tell me immediately that he wanted nothing more to do with us - that we were far out of his normal operational territory and that he simply couldn't afford to support us any further. After some back and forth in which I was trying to figure out just exactly what "maintenance" would be required to keep the driveway looking good, he decided to terminate the meeting by addressing me as "Look Dude, this is going nowhere . . . . . . ." - to which I reminded him I was not "Dude" to him, but instead "Mr. Customer." At this, he departed. I guess he might have thought a bit more about our meeting after leaving because I received a text from him at 9:15am directing me to contact him sometime after the new year, around 1/15/2026 - and not by email (verifiable paper trail?). And for what purpose should I contact Him? To get strung along for another six months? For some more surly treatment? No thanks. Bottom line - these guys are capable of delivering some incredibly nice work; but are equally capable of delivering some incredibly shabby customer service.

I think we ended up with 4 or 5 different bids. There was one company that sent out someone to do the measurements that had no knowledge of pavers so I couldn't ask questions.
