If you need to use the restroom, you leave the show area and go through the one restaurant. At the end of the show we were handed $10 in free slot play. I didn't go into the casino area so I gave it to my friend to use. I would definitely come see a show here again. It was an overall good experience!

I realize casinos are there to make money, but at least give me a chance on my bets. Most of the newer machines even on small bets require you to play all the lines. There were no longer the older style machines like Timber Wolf which you did not have to play all the lines yet make higher bets. Also they were putting in banks of new machine that were not setup yet so it was not a good day and I won't go back. PS The last time I was at Live there was a lady with a very small bank roll. I showed her a way to bet fewer lines yet at a higher bet and on her third spin she won over one hundred dollars on a 15 cent bet and from what I saw today (4/9/26) those days are gone. I will stick to the Rivers and Meadows Casino which still has some of the older machines.

One of the first things that stood out right away was the parking. There is plenty of space, it feels safe, well-organized, and easy to get in and out of, which makes a huge difference before you even walk through the doors. It immediately gave us peace of mind and set the tone for a great visit. Once inside, everything continued to impress us. The atmosphere was lively and fun without feeling overwhelming, and the overall environment was clean, comfortable, and inviting. We truly felt welcomed the entire time we were there. That kind of hospitality matters, and Hollywood Gaming & Casino made us feel like valued guests from start to finish. What really made this visit stand out, though, were the restaurants. We had the chance to enjoy Take Two Grill, Zombie Dogs, and the Sports Grill on the top floor, and every one of them was excellent. It is not often that you go somewhere with multiple food options and can honestly say that everything was very good across the board, but that was absolutely our experience here. Take Two Grill was fantastic. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared, and the service made the whole experience even better. Zombie Dogs was equally impressive, offering delicious food with its own fun personality and style. It was memorable, satisfying, and definitely a place we would gladly return to. The Sports Grill on the top floor was another highlight. Great food, great atmosphere, and a really enjoyable setting that made the meal feel even more special. Each restaurant had its own appeal, but all three delivered quality, flavor, and a consistently positive experience. What impressed us most was that everything felt right. The food was excellent, the service was warm and welcoming, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and the property itself felt safe, convenient, and well-run. When you combine amazing parking, a welcoming environment, and three very good restaurant experiences all in one visit, it makes for an outstanding time. Hollywood Gaming & Casino clearly puts effort into creating a place where guests can relax, have fun, eat well, and feel comfortable. We left very happy with our experience and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun outing with great food and a welcoming atmosphere. Everything was perfect, and we will definitely be back. Five stars all the way.

Customer complaints regarding the Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course (the official name for Mahoning Valley Casino) primarily center on perceived "tight" slot machines and poor payouts, along with issues concerning customer service, facility conditions, and safety concerns in the parking lot. Common Customer Complaints Slot Payouts/Machine "Tightness": A frequent complaint is that the slot machines are "tight" (meaning low payout rates), require significant wagers to trigger bonuses, and result in consistent losses. Some reviewers allege the machines are "rigged" or remotely controlled, a claim the casino and regulatory bodies deny, as electronic gaming machines at this facility are regulated by the Ohio Lottery. Customer Service & Staff Issues: Complaints mention rude, unhelpful, or inattentive staff, particularly at the rewards desk, bars, and in security. Facility & Amenities: Other issues include a lack of certain amenities (e.g., self-serve drink stations were moved or removed, limited dining options late at night), cleanliness concerns in some areas, and the facility's relatively small size compared to other regional casinos. Safety & Security: A notable concern raised by some patrons relates to personal safety, with reports of aggressive patrons and a perceived lack of adequate security patrols in the parking lot. Promotions & Perks: Some players feel that the loyalty program perks and free play offers are subpar compared to other casinos, and that the best promotions cater only to high rollers.

The hours are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, although table games are typically open only during the daytime. Customers may play with their PENN PLAY card or with cash. The casino also has restaurants, bars, horse-racing, and other events. For about 11 years, my husband and I have been occasional customers of this casino. We like how the floor is split into smoking and non-smoking sections. We gamble relatively small amounts of money, and in both of our visits in the past year, we came out slightly ahead in our gambling on the slot machines. Our cashier paid us promptly and courteously. In October 2025, this casino had The Tipsy Cauldron Pop-up Pub, which had Halloween and Harry Potter themes. The bar was not busy when my husband and I arrived, but we waited several minutes for an employee to take our order. We skipped ordering foods, but we really liked our two drinks, the Spellbound Cider (rum, apple cider, cranberry, cinnamon, etc.) and the Rotten Pumpkin (vodka, coconut rum, mango, triple sec, and orange). I wish, though, that the cups were as fun as the ones shown online--a witch's hand and a cauldron.
