Precision Z is the perfect company name for this business. Anything Z related, this is where you go once your vehicle warranty expires. Recently, I had a mind-boggling experience from a different shop supposedly specializing in Nissans. That shop oversold me on a $2,500 twin disc clutch that didn't engage, resulting in a failed starter and causing an oil leak in the process. I contacted Sean at Precision Z and they were able to fix all errors made by the other shop. It has been the greatest and only automotive repair catastrophe I've ever dealt with. So I had bottomed out my 370z on a dip I didn't see pretty bad to the point that I got some air time. I was paranoid all night and called these guys the next morning. They got me in the shop pretty quick and did a thorough inspection of the underbody. Sean knew his stuff, and I felt reassured when he explained to me how things looked under the car. My undershroud was torn to pieces, but I was lucky enough to drive away with a scraped oil pan and a dent in my exhaust. Will definitely be coming back whenever my Z needs a service! read more

A few weeks ago I pulled my 1991 300ZX out after being stored for nearly five years. It was a COMPLETE MESS and had a very, very bad ticking inside the engine, a bad power steering pump, dry rotted tires, dead battery, etc. After a solid recommendation, I had it flat bedded to Sean at Precision Z all the way from Valencia in Santa Clarita (near Magic Mountain). Man, let me tell you!!! Within a few days Sean swapped out the bad battery, went thru more than 10 gallons of oil (and other stuff I forget) and GOT RID OF THE TICKING!!!! People, that ticking was so bad I was about to simply junk my baby until it met Sean. While we are not done, I am very, very happy with the results so far. They know Zs! When I purchased my Z it came with this dumb "feature" that simulated engine noise over the stereo speakers. They had the tools and knowledge to disable that "feature". Later, when I let someone who didn't know what they were doing detach the door panels to paint the door handle and the connections to the lock and window buttons got messed up, the owner of Precision Z took care of it at a reasonable price. I had bought a used 2nd gen Nissan Xterra without noticing that it was suffering from a massive and very common problem with the radiator/coolant lines bleeding coolant into the transmission and killing it. Told me point blank that the car had about a month left before a total breakdown, requiring a $5000 repair bill minimum. Because my car purchase was final and "as is" I was not able to legally force the dealer to accept a return. However, Sean and his partners at the shop counseled me on how I might be able to get the car returned and hopefully get my money back. Super friendly and knowledgeable, we chatted at length about how scummy and scammy so many used car dealers can be. Thankfully, their advice was so helpful I was able to get around 75% of my money back through fierce negotiation and returned the car. An awful experience to have to deal with but these helped give me the fire I needed to go wrestle it out with the used car salesmen. Words cannot expressed how satisfied I am leaving the shop. I have a 2013 G37 Sedan with test pipes and a cat-back exhaust. I had an exhaust leak that mechanics in my area won't touch. Called up Sean and he got me an appointment right away. Sean and his buddy were able to fix my exhaust leak. They also found that my heater hose and radiator hose was leaking. I had car trouble while in Malibu with my 2003 Nissan Xterra. AAA told me it was a bad starter. I called Precision Z JUST before closing and the guys not only quoted me prices over the phone, they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to look into local dealers that had the part I needed, THEN went even further to instruct me how to leave my car overnight. By morning, they got to my car first thing, diagnosed it, ordered and had the part delivered- all while keeping me informed of their progress. I took my classic 240z to Precision Z. I had A long laundry list of problems to fix which others had given up on. My original Hitachi radio and antennae were dead. The a/c wasn't working. The clock needed new batteries, but I didn't know where they were hidden. Sean and Ed fixed everything! Besides that they did excellent routine servicing. Anyone with an Infiniti G or Nissan Z needs to now about this shop. I needed my rear differential bushing replaced, something that the dealer will not do or sell the part for (they want you to spend ~$3,300 and replace the entire rear sub-frame assembly) and almost all other shops have never heard of. After exhausting the list of local shops claiming to be Infiniti and/or Nissan specialists yet didn't understand what I needed done, I had to widen my search to within 45 minutes away. And I'm glad that I did. A quick phone call with Sean from Precision Z and everything felt like I found the right place. After going in for service, that feeling was fully confirmed. They are professional, knowledgable, and fair. They completed the work quicker than expected and under estimate. The only way I could be happier was if they were closer to home so that I could have all of my service done there. I took my car to three shops (including a dealership) and, after performing spark plug replacements and replacing injectors and clearing my check-engine-light, the issue still hadn't been resolved. I found Precision Z on yelp and decided to bring my car to them. I got the call from Sean saying they found the problem. As it turned out, the issue was a super rare one that happened with the version of the engine in the '06 Zs. The diagnosis and repair came in such a timely fashion, and not once did I ever have to call and ask "what's the status of my car?"
