(Before my story) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE TRAVELING INTO NASHVILLE!! These guys are fantastic. I was driving from Austin to Nashville for a weekend trip. Every time I had to start my car, I had to use a jumper box to jump start the car. When I was about 120 miles out from Nashville, I decided to start calling places to figure out when I could get a new battery or how I should go about fixing my car. I found this place on Yelp (thanks Yelp!) and called in. The owner said that it would cost them a fair amount to do the battery work, but that I could save money by going to O'Reilly AutoParts and just purchasing a new battery there. This was the first of many wonderful interactions that I had with the staff of Precision Auto-Tune. Once I was at O'Reilly's, they tested my battery and said that my alternator was broken! $190+ later, I had a new alternator and was bound for nashville and somewhat dangerously since O'Reily Autoparts INSISTED that I got the repair done nearby rather than making the drive. However, I arrived safely to Nashville, where I stared to get a little suspicious of O'Reily's. The next day, I drove my car to Precision Auto-Tune, where after a small check up they told me that, after all, my battery was the thing that was not working! They charged me the minimum they could (instead of charging me almost double that!) and sent me on my way back to O'Reilys to get a new battery. The short of it is this: Even though I'm a college student from out of town, these folks at Precision Auto Tune did their very best to make sure I could figure out my problem within my financial restraints. It's sad that I don't live in Nashville or I would make this my GO TO auto repair shop. Kudos and bless everyone that works here. read more

I took my daughter's car to Precision Tune Auto Care, 2251 Murfreesboro Rd, Nashville, TN 37317, to have the LF and RF Control Arms replaced. During my visit, I had a productive conversation with the owner, Paul, who assured me they would take excellent care of the car. I can confidently say that he delivered on that promise! Please don't take you car there for anything especially oil change or they would not change your filter. Your fifth is going to be dirty. Do not they will mess up your engine. Do not take it there. Please do not take it to Precision tune on Murfreesboro Road. They are not on it at all and that man, Paul is a rude as hell.I call trying to get refund and they still say filters was change and another service look at it and it was dirty don't go there people please they will mess your car up ! read more

I took my 02 ford f150 down with a check engine light after having my alternator battery and starter checked previously at autozone. At autozone I was told my ignition system was failing.upon arrival I talked to Paul explaining my problem & asking if you could check out my spark plugs,starter and ignition switch. I got a call about an hour later saying I just had an evaporator leak and I needed a new truck bed and fuel neck....& told me not to worry about the ignition problem. One day later I go out to start to truck at 5:05 am to work & clicks grinding and lights flickering all symptoms of ignition troubles (starter/startergroundwire). I paid 184 $ for a diagnostic of a problem that wasn't an issue or asked to look at. I called them up explaining what happened & he told me at first he wasn't in this weekend , but when I brought up spark plugs he remembered....I'm frustrated & now have to miss another day of work to take it to another mechanic! I have been coming to precision tune for the past couple years! I can only attest for oil changes and air pressure for tires as I receive services elsewhere for rotation/alignment, etc (I've also been grateful to not have had major car issues and only receive services elsewhere because my dad set me up with a program elsewhere when I first moved to the area- so not at any fault to precision tune!). I've always been treated fairly as a young woman and am comfortable talking to them knowing that I'll be respected. I tend to call about wait times, but they usually do a good job on wait times dependent on what the problems are with the cars ahead of you (reality is, you need to wait and not all cars are going to be quick). I have been a long time customer of the Precision Tune near Mt. Zion Church on Murfreesboro Road. Everyone working there is great. I thought that I was having brake issues and pulled up Paul came out greeted me and I told him what was happening and he pulled my van in and I was in the store all of five minutes, I mean I don't think that I had a chance to get the seat I was sitting in warm and used to my butt , and Paul was coming through the door saying my van was ready. I love going here and these are the only people I allow to work on my van. read more

I've been here twice now. First time, my wife's ac went out. Tried recharging it on our own, didn't work. So we expected a huge repair cost...they got us in and out same day for around $80, that was for them to diagnose the issue, and recharge it. It works great now! Thankful they were honest with us and didn't try to tell us we needed the compressor done. Next time I came I'm with my vehicle, for an oil change, and a whole laundry list of kings to be done... oil change prices here are great! But this time I did need a new ac compressor. Which is gonna be $850... but, like I said, they were very honest with that. They understood how pricey that was and that I may need to wait to get it fixed. They didn't try to pressure me or anything. Good folks here! read more

I bought a pre-owned 2013 Nissan Sentra in early December. Unfortunately, there was sputtering with acceleration and shift changing. Thankfully, I was still under a 30 day free warranty and the insurance company sent me to Paul and the guys at Precision Tune. I'm glad they did. For starters, Paul is a really cool guy. I was wearing my Negan from The Walking Dead shirt and we had a conversation about how great Negan is. Paul was so nice and fun to talk to. They did the diagnostics on my car while I was at dinner with my boyfriend and our friend and Paul called me to tell me they needed to keep the car overnight to change the transmission fluid (it was almost closing time). The next morning, Paul called me to tell me that the fluid had been changed but when the pan was taken out there was a lot of debris and I needed a whole new transmission. Luckily this didn't surprise me as I'd read this had been a problem with the 2013 Sentra, so Paul said I should call Action Nissan and see if there was a recall and if so, if we could get a transmission from them. I was at work and wasn't able to do that, so Paul did it himself. Unfortunately, a transmission had to be ordered. Since it was Christmas week, the transmission was not to get there until the week after Christmas. Disappointing, but not Precision Tune's fault. Paul called me the following week with an update saying that while they were able to replace the transmission, the transmission needed a new body valve. Again, that had to be ordered and since it was New Year's weekend and the body valve wouldn't be shipped until Tuesday January 3rd, it may not be ready until January 5th at the earliest and Monday the 9th at the latest. Again, not Precision Tune's fault and I appreciated Paul keeping me up to date. January 5th comes along and Paul calls me with the news I'd been waiting for, my car is ready and I can finally enjoy my new car! He sounded relieved and happy for me as was I. I returned my rental car and went to pick up my Sentra and Paul was just as awesome as he had been when I'd dropped off the car and even joked that he was hoping I wasn't so mad I'd bring Lucille in (Walking Dead reference). I told him Lucille actually was in the Sentra the whole time (actually true). Luckily, none of the repairs were charged to me. Paul apparently had been on the phone with the insurance company A LOT! I just got my keys and happily drove off. There was no more sputtering! Great success. In all, my car was at the shop for two and a half weeks (I must stress...NOT PRECISION TUNE'S FAULT), but Paul was very nice and kept me as up-to-date as possible. They were in-network for my insurance but I'd still recommend Precision Tune to anyone! read more

Changed management a couple years ago and now is great! I've been going there for 2 years and will drive from East Nashville because of the service. The owner has always been honest and explained everything thoroughly. Will definitely drive out of my way for these guys. Definitely trustworthy! read more

These guys are great. I've been taking my truck there for years. The ownership is very friendly and will grey you by name as you walk in the door. They have never tried to rip me off and are very honest about the repairs/service I need and what can be put off for a while. I have recommended them to many of my coworkers who have also been happy with their service and prices. read more

The owner here is fantastic and earns 5 stars, but the last time I went in and he wasn't around they were awful. I went in to get an oil change and asked them to replace a headlight that was out. The mechanic said he replaced the bulb, but it didn't work and he needed to run diagnostics. He said it would cost more than $100 to run diagnostics alone, so I went elsewhere for a second opinion. The next place popped in a new bulb and it worked. The other mechanic said he didn't believe the first mechanic had even taken out the old bulb as the filament was still in the old bulb (apparently it falls out when you remove them from a headlight). I have not been back since, though if the owner was in I believe the situation would have been very different. read more

I called and asked if I could get in immediately. I was told yes and showed up 4 minutes later. I asked if I could get out of there in 35 minutes. Was told yes. 15 min later my car hasn't moved from the parking lot. I ask about it and lady just hands me the keys. read more

If I could give this place a zero rating, I most definitely would. I should have never brought my car here. I brought my car in because the mechanic claimed that one of my coils was misfiring. Charged me $326.59 to fix it. As soon as I drove the car off the parking lot, I recognized the same issue occurring that I took it in to get for, so I called and they told me to bring it in the next day (I would've returned same day but I had to get to work). I'm on my way to my second job the next morning and the car dies while I'm driving down the road. I finally get the car towed and bring it back to Precision Tune Auto Car on Murfreesboro Pike. After speaking with the woman at the counter they take a look and came back with issues that were 100,000 times worse. They claim my timing belt is broken and needs to be replaced. This will cost over $1k to repair!!! They worked on the car the day before and even drove the car. This is definitely an issue they knew about and didn't tell me because they knew I wouldn't have paid for the first repair. My car is worthless now and I wasted over $300 dollars. I spoke with others well versed in cars and mechanics and they all told me that this was a complete scam. Honestly I should have taken my car to them to repair it, but this place was closer. I will never be returning and I hope no one else wastes their money here. If you choose to take your car there, good luck to you and hopefully you don't get cheated out of a bunch of money. read more

Precision Tune is a great place to receive exceptional auto service. Paul and his staff are very personable, courteous and caring to every customer that comes through their doors. They are knowledgeable about the particular services your car needs and are always free to answer any questions you may have as well. I know they are great people for a fact because my whole family literally has taken every car we have to get our maintenance checkups and major services such as brakes, engine light, you name it and our cars are still functioning well because of their expertise at Precision Tune Auto Care. Should I also mention that our cars have 140,000 miles on it and some are even ten years old! More importantly, they are time efficient and have affordable service rates.
