I drive 30+ miles to get my car serviced at this spot and there is a damn good reason for it. I've been introduced to this Precision Tune Auto Shop through an acquaintance of mine because I heard they are very honest mechanics. I have visited this shop twice to confirm my "car problems" that were reported on two separate occasions by Midas and Jiffy Lube, both of which gave me an estimated quote in excess of $1000. Both of these times, I came out of Precision Tune Auto Care with a $20ish charge for an oil change. Enough said. I'm really sick and tired of the scamming by car mechanics and to know that I'm at peace of mind when I go to this shop makes it well worth the trip to go out to Clinton to get my car serviced. As for customer service, recently, the owner's son, CJ, offered me food from the lunch he ordered for his employees (Pizza Hut) when I went in to get new brakes. Wow. What car center does THAT??!?!!! If I were to say anything negative.....it's that CJ may give "preferential" treatment to some customers. On my recent visit, a mother of a girl who came out on America's Next Top Model came to get her car serviced. Once CJ saw the model's pic in the mom's phone, he was in full gear: he chat her up like no other, opened the store door for her as she exited, opened her car door, and made 3 customers wait in line for 10 minutes while he chatted with her outside at her car. The daughter was smoking hot. YEP. Beauty goes a long way. YEP. Can't fault him for trying to score points with mum. YEP. Bah. Since he's a nice guy I'll be a bit understanding and let him get away with that one. read more

Had great service at Precison Auto Tune with Paul & CJ. Was referred by a friend to this shop and saw it had great Yelp reviews so decided to give it a shot. Had just got a new (used) car and wanted someone to check it out. To my dismay, I was told here I needed new breaks and rotors. CJ strongly encouraged I return to the dealership and demand they provide them. I really appreciated that. He said he could repair it, but that having just purchased the car this was not something he felt that I should pay his shop to do. Well, they refused so I paid out of pocket here and Yelped about the experience at the dealership. Long story short, they contacted me and offered to refund half. I quickly called CJ and asked what he thought about that. He advised me that I should demand a FULL REIMBURSEMENT from the dealership based on his observations of my vehicle. So that's what I did. And that's what I got :) Appreciated his honesty and the work done. Paul's assistance as well. Was like I got a mechanic and a lawyer rolled into one. Definitely sticking with this shop! ps. Seemed like CJ knew everyone entering the shop by name so definitely a ton of return customers here. A loyal clientele base is always a good sign. read more

Among the many auto shops in the Clinton area, Precision Tune Auto Care really stands out. I called at 8:00 am on a Saturday morning and asked if I could bring in my wife's Saturn Ion for a Maryland State Inspection and an oil change. To my surprise, I was told to come right in. After arriving, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no line. I opted for the premium oil change (includes top off of fluids) along with the inspection. While I waited, I walked over to Shoppers to buy a few groceries. The entire job was completed in just under 45 minutes. By 9:30 am, I was back home feeling accomplished before the day even began :) I will definitely head back to PTAC for my future car service needs. Oh...and be certain to check their website for coupons. I saved $10 on my state inspection! read more

Professional. Knowledgable. Hospitable. Affordable. What more could one ask for? Reason for going: Leak on driver's side carpet, oil change, tune up. They know exactly what you need, get it done as quickly as possible, and don't bully you into getting unnecessary work done unless you agree. Great experience!! :) read more

I cannot understand the bad reviews about this place. Mr. CJ Jung is one of the nicest mechanics/shop owners I've met in DMV area. I read the 1 star negative reviews, and couldn't believe them complaining about Mr. Jung's attitude. Really? If he had bad manners and attitude, then why is his shop always packed with old time patrons? I think it's a little harsh to give 1 star because the place was busy due to "over flow of yesterday's work" and "something about him just did not feel right".......? Oh come on yelpers, if you want to give 1 star for a place, please have a more legitimate reason to do so. I hate seeing a good business getting slammed by unreasonable reviews like these. I personally recommend this place because it is an honest mechanic shop that offers terrific services at a reasonable price. While waiting for our car to be finished, I've witnessed several customers thanking Mr. Jung for the reasonable price. I've been to the shop several time in the last couple of years, and Mr. Jung was consistently courteous and friendly with his customers. I understand that going to a car mechanic can be a very frustrating experience. In most places, it usually takes very long, and the cost can be very damaging. But this shop is really not that bad compared to other mechanic shops I've been to. Just call ahead to make an appointment, and Mr. Jung will do everything he can to accommodate your needs. Even with negative reviews, this shop still has a 4 star rating. Why? Because the overwhelming majority of the customers were completely satisfied with the services and gave it 5 stars. I think it means something because It is really super rare to see a business getting only 5 stars & 1 stars on yelp. I bet you it is impossible to please those type of customers no matter what you do. read more

Superlative service. Been patronizing this father - son team for 15 years. Always superb service from CJ, his father and staff. Skip the dealerships come here, thank me later! read more

Sometimes you get a lot of talk from people in the service industry. Sometimes you don't want or need it. Sometimes you just want it straight and you want it done. Not sometimes, I mean always. Here you bring your car, get it straight and get it done. No bs. That's it. Always comparable in price, but no trying to up charge. You get what you ask for. They do what you want done. They'll let you know if they find something, and they'll tell you if it's urgent or not. No pressure. Bam. Done. And for a bonus, get a laugh from the funny crew and regulars while you wait. You'll see why their customers are so loyal. They try to fit walk-ins in as best they can, but it's always better to call ahead if you can. read more

I've routinely frequented Precision Auto since 2011. I trust them with needs for all of my luxury vehicles as well. I'm big on customer service when I'm spending my hard earned money and I've yet to have a complaint with these guys. They're honest with pricing and will get you taken care. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE Mr. Jung - from the reviews is how I knew his name walking into this company. OMG he was thee most unprofessional man I have ever met in a very long time. I would not recommend this place to anyone who does not know him personally. He has an unfriendly manner to him and no one should have to feel unwanted like I did. I only wanted to do was an oil change. I was there bright eyed and bushy tailed to get it done first thing so I did not have to wait. Wrong. He told me it would be 4 hours due to the over flow of yesterday's work that did not get done in so many words. So I left. Something about him just did not feel right so I left. read more

quick service, great customer service!!! I'll recommend any day. Theyre located in a covenient area and prices are fair.

I would recommend "this" Precision Tune Auto Care because they provided me with excellent service on my vehicle. They saved me money on a previous quote and based on previous reviews are honest about what needs to be done. read more

Very knowledgeable staff. Expedited service! You will have no gimmicks, no up charges, and no unnecessary work suggested. A true neighborhood mechanic experience that makes some very difficult situations a very pleasant memory. And in my case they reinvigorated my Christmas Eve with joy and Hope. Thanks so much guys! read more

HORRIBLE. They fixed the problem but they make up so many ridiculous charges. They charged me $60 to test my Starter on top of a $120 maintenance fee just to find out that the whole time it was a $40 battery problem... read more

BEWARE! This place is shady to me! First, I took my car here for the state inspection and they told me that my driver's side window was suddenly broken. I was shocked because I had never had problems with the window. In fact, I had it rolled down a few hours before arriving at the service center. They gave me an estimate of $300 something to fix it, claiming that I needed a new window regulator. They thought I was a sucker! My car savvy friend checked my car out and he discovered that the regulator did not need to be replaced. The clips that hold the window on the mechanism were detached. This was a simple fix that cost less than $10! A few months later, I started to get annoyed by a rattling noise. I was hearing the noise only when the car was put into reserve or when it was idle. I happened to be in the area, so with some reluctance I stopped by to have it checked out. He told me that my timing chain (not belt) needed to be replaced. The husky Asian man was very dramatic about it and acted as if my car was about to breakdown (funny thing is, when I brought the car in for the inspection two months prior it was making the noise). He charged me freaking $85 just for looking at the car for 15 minutes! He said the charge was for removing a belt to check everything out. He also gave me an estimate of $500 for labor if I got the parts. Something didn't seem right, so I took the car to two additional service centers and they both told me that there was no way that noise was a timing chain issue. Oh, and neither of those places charged me for looking at my car! After giving this guy the benefit of the doubt after my first experience, I can say that I will never go back here again. I honestly feel like he was trying to take advantage of me because I am a woman. read more

I was seriously amazed by how good they are. I used to go to this other place for my oil changes and air filter changes, but CJ and the team let me know that they didn't put my air filter in right the last time, which was why my car smelled so weird every time I used the A/C. Precision Tune Auto Care went above and beyond. Not only did they replace my air filter correctly, but they also used a specialty air freshener to make sure my car smelled good. Thank you!!! read more

These guys are outstanding. When my two-decades-old car began to overheat and break down, I initially took it to another company to have it looked at, paid thousands of dollars, and still didn't get the problems solved. Thankfully, CJ and his team took care of everything. They were far more professional, and they made a genuine effort to ensure that I got my vehicle back in perfect working order. My car is now in the finest condition that it has ever been, and I will be returning to CJ for all of my vehicular maintenance and repair needs in future. read more

I was charged $453 for an ALTERNATOR and told it would take a little bit over an hour to do. It took 3.5 hours. Called around price checking for an alternator they range from $250 to $300, NOT including credit/cash they give you for returning the old alternator. Will NOT BE RETURNING for ANY MORE SERVICE. I was actually looking for a routine service shop too, this is definitely NOT THE PLACE. read more

Definitely a trustworthy place to go. My man CJ takes care of me whenever I go there to get work done on my car. Honest, dependable and they dont beat around the bush. Straightforward with reasonable pricing. I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn't like going to the dealership and dealing with their "up sale" shenanigans. read more

I'm picky when it comes to car service. Especially because I'm a single professional lady and don't know much about cars, but need my ride to be fixed right away. This is my go to spot when my car needs servicing. On many occasions, I received prompt service and they've fixed my car immediately, car is ready to go on the same day, often before 2p. They are nice and listen to my concerns. I've been here so many times that they greet me by first name. They are reliable and I've developed a rapport with the owner and the mechanics. They have taken the time to get to know my car and even went so far as not to charge for minor service (just to look at it and troubleshoot). Most of the time, I only deal with " CJ" (the owner). I have referred many of my single girlfriends when they need auto service and the feedback has been good. Don't let the name fool you, they work on foreign luxury cars for half the price at this location. read more

This is my mechanic. This family operation is consistently courteous, honest, and fair compared to many. They also have the expertise to handle many car issues and as quickly as possible while doing quality work. I had a car that had been sitting for about 2 years. I am a DIY'r and already knew exactly what work needed to be done on my vehicle. CJ at Precision Tune did exactly what was needed, and didn't try to rack up a bunch of extra unnecessary service and charges. and they work fast. I would recommend this shop to friends and family. read more

Good honest mechanics. Reasonably priced and military friendly.

DON'T LET ALL THE GREAT REVIEWS FOOL YOU. Precision Tune may be good for general car maintenance (i.e., oil changes) but I would not trust them to do anything major. I dealt with CJ, the owner, and explained I needed my master cylinder replaced (based on dealer diagnostic). He quoted a great price and assured me they knew all about replacing master cylinders so I approved the work. After dropping car off, I received a call a few hours later to let me know my car was ready with new cylinder but still not fixed. REALLY?!?! CJ said I should take my car to dealer cause the problem was not the master cylinder and he didn't know what the problem was (REALLY Mr. Mechanic). Yet, I get my invoice and the remark says "looks like someone bled my M.C. several times before it came to them which no one touched my car other than a diagnostic test by dealer. CJ never mentioned that to me when he called to let me know my car was ready and not fixed with a new M.C. I'm not sure if this boils down to laziness in not wanting to spend the time to fix my car properly or the inability to replace my master cylinder. Nevertheless, this is just poor customer service. In addition, nowhere on my invoice mentions the so called warranty of 12 months/12,000 miles on parts and labor. More to come, this isn't over. read more
