Nick and his crew from Avid were with us for five-plus days, chipping, grinding stumps, fishing widow-makers out of the treetops, lightening crowns of the oldest trees to lessen wind resistance, thinning out dead and unhealthy trees, cutting the downed wood into firewood-size chunks for us. And all the while they were cheerful, considerate, a pleasure to have around, showed up when they said they would, did what they said they were going to, and every day made sure before they left that we were happy with what they'd gotten done. If only all businesses operated the way Avid does. Nick and his team earned every compliment I can give them and are really nice people to boot.

They did a horrible job. They didn't level out the yard before they installed the sod and it had lumps, bumps, and ditches all over. They must've used a low-grade sod because part of the yard washed out and the grass died out within three weeks. They quoted me a price of $5000 , a $2500 deposit and $2500 upon completion. When I attempted to pay the final payment they informed me that they have forgotten about the 10% sales tax and that added up to another almost $500 that I had not agreed upon. We had to call them back to re-do half of the yard. All and all I would not recommend these people to my worst enemy.

I contacted Sam's Landscaping for an estimate, and was impressed with their prompt response. Not only did they provide a comprehensive quote on the same day, but the pricing was competitive--many of their competitors took weeks just to send their proposals. The results were outstanding, and I couldn't be more pleased with the transformation. Based on my positive experience, I will definitely be having them work on my backyard as well. I highly recommend Sam's Landscaping to anyone in need of a reliable and affordable landscaping service

My wife was home when the work was done and told me she thought he used all hand tools as she heard nothing during the trimming. Turns out the neighborhood was quiet during his half day of work because Nick Ridgeway (owner/operator) used cordless electric hedge shears to get the basic shape. Did some research and these trimmers are powerful, but really quiet. Neighbors appreciated that feature I'm sure. Nick then fine-tuned the hedge with standard hand-held shears and finished it off with precision detailing by using hand pruners. Does anybody put that kind of effort into this type of work anymore? Not likely. The bottom line is the hedge has never looked better; didn't pollute the air with fuel or noise pollution and didn't cost me an arm and a leg to do it. Also have to say that Nick is conscientious and spot on when it comes to returning calls, getting you the bid and performing the work within a reasonable time frame. Can't say enough good things about Nick and his Clean Air Lawn service. Do yourself a favor and check this guy out if you need any type of lawn & yard services.
