I wasn't going to be home, but i agreed that he could do it while i was gone. He sent me pictures of the limbs trimmed from the tree when he was done. I got home after dark, but went to his house to pay him cash as i didn't want him to have to wait for his money. It was dark so i didn't go in the yard to look around. The following day, i was shocked. There were branches left all over the yard. Tiki torches were broken and left laying in the yard. A glass bird feeder was broken and left in the concrete patio. Furniture tgat was moved was not out back in place. Large branches were left hanging in an adjoining tree. Out "hard wired" landscape lights were broken. They left a mess on the street tgat i had to clean up. I called Steve and send text messages many times and each time Steve provided something bullshit as to why he couldn't come clean it up. He was busy, the weather, etc... it's been 3 weeks. I asked for him to give me back $200 so i can hire someone to clean up his mess but he refuses. I gave him the opportunity to make this right before i take this to the next steps I made 2 big mistakes. 1- Hiring this company, 2- Trusting him and paying him cash without looking at his work first. I will not make any further mistakes. I will be doing the following: 1- File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau 2- File a complaint with Consumer Affairs Do yourself a favor. Stay away from this company. When hiring any company, check to see if they have insurance. Ask for a COI (certificate of insurance) Stay away. I had a lot of poor soil, stumps and roots in the back yard that I wanted to get rid of. I thought fall would be a good time to do it so the grass would seed before winter and look good by spring. I expected a pretty slow growth process and didn't think the yard would look like much for at least a few months, but Jay planted a number of large rolls of sod and blended them really well with the rest of the yard. By the time he was done, it was impossible to tell the new area from the rest of the yard because everything looked great together. When you work with contractors, there's always a risk they'll take a long time to finish the job or leave a mess, but Jay was especially attentive to our property and cared about our overall experience. We were always asked beforehand what time would be convenient for us to have them work at the house, and we always knew in advance as to when a worker would show up. They were always specific about the time and never gave us a range (like "sometime between 1:00 and 4:00"). If they said they would show up at 1:00, then they showed up at 1:00. And when his workers were done for that day, there was no way to tell they'd been there other than the quality of work and the beautiful landscape taking shape - no messes, no gates left unlocked, etc. The project was completed significantly faster than I thought it would and the end result was amazing. I would definitely work with Grounds Keeper again and recommend them if you want a contractor that works fast, respects your property, and gets you results immediately.

They handled multiple very large tree removals with outstanding skill and professionalism, even in tight spaces, and everything was done safely and efficiently.
