So I'm traveling from Tahoe City CA to Detroit MI to rescue a St Bernard from a shelter there three days before Thanksgiving 2018. I'm driving my truck with a cab over camper on board. I've made a similar journey before to Athens AL without any trouble.
On my second day of travel, Wyoming weather slowed my progress by half a day. I thought that was going to be the bad of my journey, I was wrong. As I passed through Iowa City, my transmission started misbehaving. YIKES !!! I was seriously concerned because the truck was no longer road worthy.
I googled transmission service Iowa City. Precision Transmission was listed as the closest place.
I couldn't have been luckier than to meet these guys. Brothers Larry & Randy.
They understood my situation in trying to get to the shelter promptly to rescue my new dog.
The owner of the vehicle they were currently working on wasn't in a huge hurry to get the vehicle back, so they switched over to mine.
They had the transmission out and on the work bench in about an hour and a half. They found the issue and have the parts coming for a rebuild.
I had to remove the camper from the truck in order to fit in their garage. They even let me run a power cord out to my camper to keep my batteries strong and me warm as I needed to stay there over night.
These guys are hero's. I am so extremely grateful to have met them.
Sincerely
Garrett
