These guys came in and they cleared out and cleaned up my backyard of all the bushes , overgrowth and trees and stuff that had overtaken my backyard in the last 3.5 years since my husband passed away and they did such an amazing job. The grass just got it''s first mowing by my lawn service and I must say the sod is looking gorgeous! That you again Big 3 Lawn Care for the great job!!! This is my review on Feb 11 2024: I asked Big 3 Lawn Care to provide me an estimate to replace my front sod which had died from fungus. The existing St Augustine grass was dead from fungus and was never coming back to life. The price they quote me was very good and I hired them to do the job. Big 3 Lawn Care did a fabulous, a very nea, a fantastic job! I'm extremely happy! After they removed and installed the new St Augustine sod it looks perfect. My front lawn went from dead to beautiful! Big 3 Lawn Care workers did a great job! I'm glad I decided not to tackle this job as I had planned to do. Big 3 Lawn Care did a much and I'm telling you, a much better job than I could have ever done. The St Augustine sod they installed was the very best, VERY FRESH. Their installation was perfect! Once we agreed on a potential price for the job I let him know I would get back to him to let him know if he was chosen for the job. (There was another company giving us an estimate at the same, same property). Instead of waiting on me to get back to him he sent over multiple texts, emails, and calls. I let him know a few days later he was not chosen because his online/social media presence was very limited. I couldn't even find a website.. he said "So you wasted my time basically. Thanks And cost me 148 for the lead plus put off two other jobs to make sure you had the lowest price possible. Good luck with your venture" then proceeded to call me a scammer and saying "I'll be keeping an eye on the Saint Lucie County building department webpage to see who pulls the clearing permit for the property since you "found someone else". They showed up with several…read morepalets of mixed grass sod which was supposed to be Saint Augustine to totally replace my front and side yard. All but one of the workers spoke only Spanish-no English. They cut the old grass out down to Florida sand and laid the sod with gaps between sod squares. I watered the new sod morning and evening every day until it took root. I kept my lawn mowing service off of the new grass for 6 weeks. There remained large gaps in the sod and the "St Augustine" did not send out shooters to fill in the gaps in several areas. 2/3 of the sod was Saint Augustine. 1/3 was something else. I ended up with several dead sod sections which filled in with centipede grass and weeds. 2/3 of my front yard looks nice and healthy St Augustine. The rest is either weeds, centipede, or Nutsedge. I called Green Thumb. The "good ole boy" man came out, looked it over and blamed my lawn mowing service, and me for "infiltration" of weeds and centipede, even though he could see the dead sod pieces in big patches surrounded by the actual healthy Saint Augustine.

I hired Green Thumb to fill in a pond in my back yard. I thought the quote was fair and Mark…read more(Green Thumb owner) quoted an option to raise an area next to the pond. Originally, I told Mark I wanted the other area filled in but prior to the start of the job I called the Green Thumb to cancel. I was out of town when the job was actually accomplished but when I came back all of these areas were filled in so this means Green Thumb ordered a ton more dirt than they needed to. While Mark acknowledged the mistake on his end, now I needed to sod a MUCH bigger area than I was planning on originally. Mark quoted $200 per pallet and 20 pallets needed (I have a large yard and it was destroyed in the front and side yard as well). Mark's guys performed the installation and did a great job but as part of the installation I told them to leave an open space where I want to plant trees in the future. I figure no reason to sod an area that I will dig up in the spring anyway and I'll save some money. After the sod project was completed, Mark presented the bill for $4000 even though they used less than 14 pallets of sod. I told Mark he didn't use 6 pallets so it should be $1200 less and then Mark said I was lying, it was $4000 for the job and he would never quote it as a price per pallet and the 20 pallets was just an estimate. This was the whole reason I told them not to sod the area I want to plant trees on! I even told Mark after he completed the job that he owed me a pallet for the area of the trees because now that it was $4000 for the job, I wanted that sod and he wanted to charge me for it. Additionally, Mark's been in the business for 35 years and he over-estimates the amount of sod by 40%? It really seems like he did this to get back at me for the dirt he over-ordered. Another frustrating part was Mark got extremely upset and rude about me only giving him a 50% partial payment after the dirt project was completed. He wanted the full amount and I told him I would pay him the rest when it was done because at that time the yard was a disaster (especially in the front) and Mark lost it. "I've been in business for 35 years and nobody has ever withheld payment from me". Partial payment are COMPLETELY normal in all industries when the job is not done and insures you complete the work to the customer's satisfaction! Overall, I would steer clear of Green Thumb for this type of landscaping project. The guys did a nice job and I think the pricing was fair initially for the dirt/labor but dealing with Mark on the back end with the sod left a sour taste in my mouth on the entire project.
