Just a warning to anyone considering gutter guard gutters…read more So, it's been a while (about 7 years) since I had my "clog free" gutters installed. Soon after installation I found that they were not really clog free. I had the company out to unclog after about 3 months. I had them out a few months later to do the same. Eventually I gave up calling them and would just clean them every 3 or 4 months myself. So much for maintenance free. Fast forward to this year. During the hurricane my basement flooded. While tracking down why it flooded we found that the culprit was my clogged "clog free" gutters. Instead of water flowing down the gutters and away from my foundation through drainage pipes, it was running over the top and directly onto my foundation. Of course insurance doesn't pay for this so I'm out tens of thousands of dollars...because of clogged gutters. Be warned: if you actually have trees, particularly pine trees, these gutters are an expensive mistake.

They found the downspouts were hanging from the new gutters by a single piece of metal that was bend down from inside the gutter. Proper gutter installs would contain a sleeve to attach the downspout to so it is secure. When I called this company they told me I had to pay 80 dollars to have someone come out to look at the issue and that I was past the install warranty period by two weeks. Had the siding been replaced two weeks ok they would have fixed their defects. Steer clear of this company as they are not customer friendly. This is not an outrageous ask to have something done correctly especially since they cost was over 3500 dollars for 40 feet of gutter and guard.

We payed $6,125 dollars (via an installment loan) for Leaf Filter covers to our existing gutters (1,939 sq ft home). We were ASSURED that neither we, nor someone we paid would EVER need to go up a ladder to clean the gutters. The salesman was clear about the gutters having a lifetime transferable guarantee. However, after a year during which Leaf Filter local contractors put splash guards in several places, we still have rain-water pouring over the edges of the gutters. We were at fault for believing the promise from the salesman, as opposed to taking enough time to read the contract fully. Two things tell you the company is not honorable: 1) When we called to have the gutter splash guard debris cleaned (fixed?), we were curtly told by representatives, 'It's in the contract that, after a year, you have to pay for a service call ($95).' Clearly, they were used to customers surprised to be told there would be a charge. 2) Although Leaf Filter responds to many bad reviews (on Google) saying to call them - note that none of the bad reviews have been taken down.
