I've been struggling…read morewith uncontrolled diabetes (DM2), high cholesterol, and elevated triglycerides for over a year. I used to go to a clinic in Sun Valley, but my lab results never improved--so I figured it might be time for a fresh perspective. When I visited FHMC, I asked to be seen by a doctor. The front desk staff greeted me with professionalism and warmth. They explained my options clearly--I could do a telehealth visit with a doctor or see the provider in their Van Nuys clinic. Since I was already in Palmdale, I asked about alternatives, and they offered me a same-day appointment with their Nurse Practitioner. I'm so glad I said yes. The NP was knowledgeable, compassionate, and really took time to listen. She revised my medications and gave me realistic, clear lifestyle guidance. I appreciated her genuine concern and how she educated me without judgment. Before I left, I told the front desk how great the NP was, and they mentioned they have three NPs who are all caring and well-liked. A month and a half later, I returned for bloodwork and a follow-up. This time, I saw a different NP, and the results blew me away: * Cholesterol: 141 130 * Triglycerides: 162 113 * A1C: 8.3 5.8 I was beyond happy--relieved, actually. For the first time in years, I felt hopeful about my health. As a small thank you, I bought donuts for the staff from a nearby shop. This clinic treated me with compassion and care, even in a stressful healthcare climate. Thank you, FHMC Lancaster!

The doctor that helped us was very nice and gentle with my special needs daughter. He did an amazing job cutting her toe nails and treating them. He also asked the nurse to make a follow up appointment in two months at a location closer to our house. That's great patient service.

After my ACL surgery I was referred to this group by my doctor to complete the months long rehab process. They worked with me once a week, starting with basic leg mobility and eventually full agility drills. I communicated my goal to play basketball and soccer with 100% effort and address the muscle atrophy that had occurred. They took that to heart and the treatment always felt tailored towards my specific needs as opposed to just running through a standard list of exercises. My doctor was always impressed by my progress during the monthly check-ins. I would absolutely recommend AVMC for any rehab needs and would go back if, heaven forbid, I get injured again. Thanks for everything.

I broke my kneecap in 2000 and was in severe pain in 2020. The chief of orthopedics, Dr. Minkowitz,…read moresaid it was slight arthritis and refused to do surgery. I switched to Blue Cross and the doctor at UCLA, Dr. Hernandez, got me in right away for a replacement, saying it was urgent. I complained to Kaiser and the chief of orthopedics was obviously angry. When I went back to Kaiser, I broke my elbow in several places and Dr. Woodhouse put in a metal plate and 23 screws. At 6 weeks, still in a splint, as the physician assistant, Jorge, took out the stitches, he said, "you don't need to come back. There is nothing more we can do for you." No physical therapy was offered. I am back at Blue cross, where I had the plate and screws removed and there is still an extra bone out of place. Many other stories about Kaiser, but this was the worst....

While they lollygagged with the paperwork I had to call different people left and right so I could get it squared away. They said I couldn't get it because I hadn't had 3 seizures in a month..... except I've had a minimum of 5 this month. Mind you at least 4 happened at work in front of my colleagues, who pushed me to see this man. To be honest it seemed like he felt like I was lying as if I don't have better things to do than to lie about seizures. Honestly if my colleagues hadn't pushed me to go I wouldn't have... for what? To be treated and dismissed like gutter trash when I'm talking and speaking on something vulnerable and real. I asked for a new neurologist which won't happen for another month and honestly by that time I may not bother. It's clear I won't be taken seriously or with honest care. It's a shame I fought so hard to get Kaiser
