My wife and I had trouble with this masonry contractor. They bid the job for a certain price, then submitted an invoice for 50% to 100% more than the bid. When we asked questions about the invoice they said the bids are longer valid, and threatens to put a lien on property if we did not pay the full amount (extortion). We had 3 invoices which falsely claimed areas of masonry word which he did not actually complete (lied about square footage on all invoices). We had quality problems including stone fell off and missing grout between stones. ** century code requires remedy within 30 days of notification. They claim they did not receive the notification sent in the mail, yet a check was mailed to the same address and cashed promptly. They also threatened us to remove our reviews or else they would file a slander law suit, more threats to my wife and I. I have all the documentation and would be glad to share it with anybody.Update: This contractor thinks online business reviews are illegal. Big mistake. He tried to file a slander small claims case against us, and it was quickly dismissed. Anyone can submit an online review and ND Century Code allows. Recap: This contractor submitted false invoices for $600 for damage to fireplace. We have 3 witnesses who were onsite the same exact time as this guy, and can confirm there was no damage. It is a falsified charge which is illegal. This guy also submitted 45 sq ft of masonry that he did NOT actually complete, roughly about $700. Another falsified invoice which is illegal. Our witness heard this guy say he needs to figure out how to make more money on this job. We also have tile grout failures poor workmanship, see pics below. He is not allowed on our property. I have all the proof, paperwork, and documents to prove it. There are many lies, he can't keep them straight. If anyone has trouble with this company in the future, reach out to me, and I can assist.
