Hogan's installed sod in our front yard on July 23, 2026 while we were returning from vacation in…read morespite of us specifically requesting that it not be installed until July 24th or later. We wanted to be home to make certain that the ground underneath was tilled or scraped and then top soil spread prior to installation of the sod. We paid for upgraded Scott ProVista St. Augustine sod from Duda & Sons. A few weeks later, after noticing that the grass was turning brown in spite of proper watering, someone from Hogan came and lifted the sod in a few locations and told us that the sod was not taking root and was brown on the underside. We have called repeatedly and asked that someone come and explain what they can do to fix the issue. They've promised that a manager would come out (never happened). Technically they have completed all of the tasks listed in their contract, sod follow-up inspection (this is when the inspector told us the sod had not rooted), irrigation management, follow-up visit by spray tech to apply preventive insecticide and nutrients to develop roots but the grass is still yellow/brown/dead after 5 weeks. We have had ample rain and watered repeatedly Additionally, the sod was installed in such a way that we are unable to open our gate and have asked that they fix that as well. Now they are refusing to take and/or return our calls.

Our new home sits on an acre so we have a lot of grass to care for. We depended on Bioganic's service to keep our lawn healthy. Then they switched our technician and ALL WENT DOWNHILL. The grass started getting an odd discoloration in one specific place. We alerted the technician who told us we're not watering enough. VERY ODD! How is it possible that only one particular place wasn't getting water while the rest of the lawn was fine. We checked all sprinkler heads and everything worked perfectly. The technician kept INSISTING that the issue was watering. Sometimes he said we're not watering enough while in other times he insisted we're overwatering. He kept IGNORING our pleas when we told him the grass is getting worse and that, whatever it is, it is spreading and killing the grass. We brought up numerous times that maybe it's due to chinch bugs. Once again-our tech blamed watering and said IT IS NOT chinch bugs. Months went by as we watched our lawn die. We wanted to trust that Bioganic was doing its job. We emailed and called them. They sent a manager out who, upon arrival, said they came to test the irrigation system. We explained that the irrigation was tested numerous times by the tech. That the problem here must be something else. They kept ignoring us. Didn't even bother to check for chinch bugs. In addition to the chinch bugs, mealybugs had INFESTED most of our shrubs and hedges. We complained about the services and even cut the weeds service because we noticed (via our security cameras) that our tech wasn't spraying all the flower beds. We decided to be thorough and called UF, several irrigation companies, and three lawn experts. Upon a two minute test, the chinch bugs were confirmed. By this time our front and back yard was INFESTED WITH CHINCH BUGS!!!!!! We immediately fired Bioganic and called several companies to fix what they DESTROYED! Additionally, we had three companies give us a quote for replacing the damaged sod (that according to the UF Extension Office) will NEVER grow back. The damage: $20,000!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you hire this company - know that they might DESTROY your lawn.

Until I realized how exhausting lawn upkeep on a large property can be. Once a week, for hours, I would push mow, pick up debri, cleanup, and that wasn't including edging or bush trimming. I have a manual labor job full time during the week. More labor on the weekend just wasn't for me. Nations has done nothing but provide excellent, excellent service. And are very affordable considering all of the service we get. Once a week their guys come out and service our property. Mowing, edging, cleanup. They also trim any bushes and clean those up as standard practice. We have a very large bougainvillea on the edge of our front lawn. If it isn't maintained, it easily engulfs the sidewalk. Nations includes the trimming of that extremely large bush as standard practice! They trim right along the sidewalk so it doesn't block it, and every so often, trim it off the ground about a foot. Another great service is the fact that Steve answers simple text messages. If my wife feels she wants our palm tree or crepe myrtles trimmed (which, of course, are an added service), she simply texts him, which he responds to in a timely manner, and the trees are trimmed the following service. The crews that tend our lawn are almost always on time with their service. Typically the same day every week, with the exception of bad weather or holidays, in which they still make it out the next day. They always do an excellent job with our lawn. Professional job and professional clean up. Listen to this, this is how great their crew is: Our palm tree is next to our drive way. Our driveway is composed of brick. During parts of the season, the palm tree drops a ridiculous amount of seeds. Seeds the size of walnuts. These walnut sized seeds land on the brick, and wedge themselves in betweem the cracks of the bricks. These are a pain to get out. I usually have to individually fish them out they get so mashed in from driving on them. Brooming or kicking them usually doesn't clear them. Yet somehow, someway, Nations crews gets ALL of them off my driveway. ALL of them. Its as if they never fell off the tree in the first place. I love it. Today they impressed me yet again. It had rained a better part of the afternoon. I got home just before five pm. It had just finished raining. And this Nations crew STILL showed up at the same time and did the job in a professional and timely manner. Didn't cut corners to beat the rain or avoid getting wet. And still left my yard looking gorgeous despite it being a wet and overcast day. Seeing as how it was the end of the day, I should have offered them a few beers for their troubles.

No chainsaw and no dump truck just a pick up truck with mower and blower and trimmer in back how are you going to fit that bush in that truck, mind you I had a conversation with him via text the owner and I sent pictures because he said he wanted to ensure he gets the right equipment order. so I told myself let's just see if what happens so I go to the back yard with them after shaking the owners hand, I went back showed him the bush I said I wanted it gone even if the two hours was just spent doing that, three guys should be easy. i went and got them water at the store per there request too, and I come back and they are mowing my back yard and one guys starts trimming. I already told them I didn't need a mow I wanted the bush removed. So they say yes. Ten mins later I don't hear them out there instead they are out front sitting on the back on their truck. So I walk into my house, one hops in truck and leaves I'm think cool maybe they getting a chainsaw meanwhile the other two go to my back yard to another bush not my Bougainvillea and I'm like WTF so I wait thinking the guys coming back with chainsaw no another 20 mins past and what would you know my two hours are up so what happens the guy pulls up then guys grab no lie 3 bags of clippings and a couple of branches and just take off in truck no call yet from owner nothing. I see them take off in truck and I have pictures of them leavinf with basically nothing in the back of the truck because they also had a mower blower and trimmer back there and the truck was barely over the top. I call the owner aka the guy who was here. He proceeds to tell me the guys said they took a whole pile of debris they mowed and trimmed and got poke by thorns from my bush and I was like my quote which i still have the paperwork says Bougainvillea removal and what customer instructs for two hours. plus all the pictures I showed him before hand all the communication I had was very very clear. I have all those saved too. So I ask for a refund he says no says I have to pay for his guys I said they didn't do anything I paid you to do he proceeds to tell me I have to pay for the lawn service( the mowing blowing I said you meaning everything I asked you not to do but did anyway so you can do this say I need to pay you for something I never asked you to do. Then it was o they needed to mow before they removed the bush and I was like no I got someone two days before to mow so it would be a problem and you guys could focus on the Bougainvillea, which have proof of to that I mowed. So I said I would give them $50 and he can refund the rest he tells me no again and says I have to pay for the lawn service which was $135 plus $50 for the pokes and pricks from the bush. What! You should have known what it takes to do the bush, you quoted me for a removal of a Bougainvillea it's in our paperwork!! Anyways so we go back and fourth for 9 mins per phone log which I have kept for proof too that and all pictures texts contracts and quotes on exactly I hired him to do. He proceed to tell me do a charge back take me to court I have insurance and hangs up so now he has my money and barely work done.
