When I asked to be connected to the right department, I was told that person was "out of town." But the showroom person was able to cancel the order. Thankfully, this was a small purchase and not a critical part of my home remodeling project--but that's beside the point. Tip for Lighting Specialists in Utah: If you accept people's orders and money online, be prepared to process or respond to those orders within a couple of days--not 10 or more. It's not just bad service--it's irresponsible.

I hope I just had a rare situation this time My bedroom celing fan had an integral part go bad. I had no light, no fan, nothing. I identified the problem part and we sought a replacement at Lighting Specialists. They took our money and said the part would be in around two weeks. A little over two weeks later we call asking about the status of our replacement part. Turns out they just charged us and never placed the order. No part was on its way for over two weeks. They said they were sorry and would order the part for real this time. Said it would be a couple weeks. This is when I got a bit angry and explained I had no light in my bedroom and why, since this was your mistake you couldn't overnight the part. Another week and a half later the part came in. Went to go pick it up and they wanted to charge us again, saying we didn't pay the first time. Another mistake on thier part. Finally a month later we are up and going again. I may have to look elsewhere for my next purchase.

This felt unprofessional and based on assumptions about our budget. Comparing quotes is a normal part of making an informed decision--not just for price, but for customer service and product knowledge as well. Unfortunately, neither was demonstrated here. To make matters worse, the quote we received afterward was for the wrong house, showing a lack of attention to detail. Because of this experience, we will not be moving forward with this company.

Walt was VERY customer-focused, even mailing me actual leather samples so that I could check the nuances of color in both natural daylight and under home lighting at night. He also provided several suggestions for additional pieces of furniture (which I ended up sourcing elsewhere in the interest of time). Upon ordering, Walt went the extra mile, making it easy for us to arrange for payment; plus he advised me as to when to get the order in, given the extended holiday season in Europe that could impact my final delivery date. By the time I ordered my sofa, I had a crystal-clear idea of what it would look like, how much it would cost (incl shipping), when it would be delivered, and got the distinct impression that Walt would be there every step of the way to ensure my final satisfaction. Throughout each stage of the order, delivery, and set-up process, Walt was very responsive. The delivery was a challenge itself, as I live in a small town with steep hills, and virtually no way for a big-rig to drop the furniture off. That necessitated an extra step that Walt coordinated with a freight company which included offloading to a smaller truck, plus "white glove" delivery (uncrating, carrying the piece into the room of choice, and removing all packing materials). The final result was delivered recently: an absolutely gorgeous leather sofa with flawless workmanship and exquisite detail. I can not even begin to describe how thrilled I am with this piece of furniture! I would not hesitate to work with Walt again on future furniture needs.
