Dylan Davis came to my house because the chain was jerky on our garage door. He was very friendly and patient in explaining the process for the fix. He clearly answered all of my questions. We ended up purchasing the rehaul package as our new build house was built with some cheap stock parts on our door. It was a great value and our door now works so much better. I would hire Dylan Davis every single time! read more

The entire process with Precision was excellent. Blake came out for the estimate and guided me in the right direction, appreciate the advice Blake . Less than 3 weeks later, Patrick came out and single-handedly expertly installed the door. After he completed the install he showed my wife and I all the features and helped us set up the app. If you need a new garage door I highly recommend Precision Garage Doors! read more

I have used this company twice more including yesterday when the garage door opener at our rental property stopped working. It was easy to schedule someone to come out at a time that was convenient to me, he showed up right on time, and he was very professional. Got a new garage door opener installed in an hour and he made a point to get everything set up properly for me. It was so nice to work with someone competent who did exactly what I was paying him to do (and who did it well). Highly recommend this company! read more

The technician, Justin, explained what the problem was with my garage door and what his recommendations were. He also helped me understand if things had to be fixed sooner rather than later. I was Impressed with his honesty that there wasn't a lot of work that had to be done right now. I was very pleased with the work performed, his detailed explanations of what he was doing and the top-notch level of service. I highly recommend Precision Door Service. read more

I had a motor that had gone bad in my 30 year old garage door opener, and they sent a technician, John, out the same day I called for service. John looked completely over the old opener, and determined whether or not it could be salvaged. As I expected, the age of the old opener forced me to consider replacement, as there were very few options on replacement parts for such an aged piece of equipment. John went over all the possible choices they had available and costs, including chain driven versus belt driven openers. Since the one I was replacing lasted for so long, I decided to go with a similar chain driven model. It also happened to be the least expensive route. About two hours later John had removed the old and replaced with the new. In that time, I was also able to find an admittedly small coupon online, which John honored. He also threw in an extra remote free of charge. This business was top notch, from the pleasant call I had with them in the morning to the technician in the afternoon. Definitely give them a chance with your garage door needs in the future. read more

Great team, took care of the garage door issue and were very professional. They obviously know what they are doing.

We have now used this company both on the west coast and in Kentucky. Different doors for sure but same quality, responsiveness and attention to detail. They were a pleasure to work with! read more

I first called another highly advertised garage door service and I was told it would be at least $200 to change out a keypad opener. I then called Precision Door and looked at the reviews. I knew Precision was the best choice. Someone came the next day and checked out the keypad and found that was not the reason it wasn't working. I decided to replace the garage door opener since I didn't know how old the opener was. They came the next day, installed the opener and I was impressed with the professionalism of the team. Precision is the best I've found. read more

Called on a random Friday at 1130am after I tried to do an install myself and I failed. The tech arrived in like 3 hours and had the job done in less than an hour. He was incredibly professional and never once made fun of me for not being able to do this project myself. He worked to provide us the best quality at the best price. 100000% would recommend. read more

Disappointed...three weeks ago I had this company fix my garage door because it was off track. They responded the next day and the tech suggested that I also have the rollers replaced which I agreed. The total including the service call was $241.00. Today a flag pole fell in the track unbeknownst to me and of course the door went off track so I called the company to fix it. The total was $135.00 for the service call with no parts replaced. I understand that a business has to make a profit to stay open but I was hoping for a discount and it did not happen. By the way, a big sticker was placed on my wall advertising the business without my permission and I wish they would have asked me first. read more

Prompt and professional service! Can't recommend enough! When our garage door bit the dust on a Sunday, we had no idea we could've called Precision at the time and not have paid an arm and a leg. I called Monday afternoon and they had someone at my house promptly on time the next day as promised. Upon looking at the damage, he advised that while we could try to repair it, he would recommend replacement. The rates quoted were very reasonable and we were able to pay it in two payments. We ordered the new door that day and it came in one week later. The installation tech arrived right on time and was super professional and very quick in getting the old door out and the new door in. He even gave some advice to my neighbor about an issue he's having and will likely get another job replacing some hardware for him. Don't hesitate! They're wonderful! read more

I didn't have my coffee this morning and tried to back out of my garage before opening the door. The door was bent, and would no longer stay in the rails. Precision Door Service sent someone over to look at the door within an hour of calling them. They offered to try to fix my existing door rather than replace it if I would have preferred that. The offer was much appreciated but I'd already decided to replace it. I just needed a builder-grade door (nothing special), and they happened to have one in their warehouse of the right size and color. They installed the replacement door that same day--which was much appreciated given that Christmas was in 3 days (I was sure no one was going to be able to schedule something this year). The installer, Andrew, was also very personable and polite. It was a great customer experience. read more

My 25 year old garage door lifter was beginning to create reliability issues so I called Precision Door Service to request replacement options. A technician was scheduled and arrived as promised. I especially like the confirmation text sent as the tech was traveling to my home. A choice of several lifters was offered at various price levels, with easy to understand explanations. I chose a lifter and was pleased to learn the unit was on the truck, so the technician was able to install a new lifter in just over an hour without need for another appointment. My garage was left clean and the old lifter and parts were taken away, which was a nice touch. The overall experience was cost effective and pleasant, so needless to say I recommend Precision to anyone looking for honest garage door service. read more

Steve at Precisions Door Service did an excellent job of evaluating and advising us as to what was the best solution to our garage door issues. The current opener was over 25 years old and totally out of safety code. He immediately installed a whole new system. (Took longer than planned due to wiring problems from old unit. He was able to get us all fixed up in about 8 hours. Labor charge was low and total price was low. Took time to show us features of new unit and how to program controllers Definitely a 5 star experience. read more

Today Precision Door Service came out on what I thought was a follow-up to a repair job they did a couple of weeks ago. The door worked once or twice after they came the first time, and then stopped working. When I called about that, I gave their representative a detailed description, and she said she would send someone out. When the tech came out, he flipped a switch on the manual opener, and the door worked. My main complaint is that when I described the problem (I have the audio recording), the rep should have immediately recognized the probable cause of the problem, and advised me to flip the switch. Or if she didn't know the answer, she should have had the technician call me before coming out. With all the years the company has been in business, they must have encountered the same situation countless times, and have chosen to charge $85 for a needless service call rather then resolve the issue in a simple phone call. Just like another review here, the technician slapped an advertisement for his company on my wall without my prior knowledge or consent, and against my wishes. (I was able to remove it before the adhesive dried) For those reasons, I will never use their services again, and I would advise others to steer clear of Precision Door. read more

John came on short notice and repaired my doors broken spring. Highly recommend this local company.

I appreciate the fact that Precision Door Service sent out a technician (Roger) to diagnose the issue with my garage door and we talked through possible options to address the situation. I wasn't told I needed a new garage door immediately like the quote I got from another company. The work was done and the garage door functional the same day. A job well done and when the time comes to purchase a new door, I know where I plan to spend my money. read more

I've had my garage door serviced by this business 3 times and I've had nothing but great experience with them. I never felt like I was being manipulated or coaxed by them. All 3 times I've dealt with them, they were able to fix the problem same day and in a timely manner. Just an FYI, their service fee is around $75. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this company. Initially I hired another garage door company to install my garage door opener, but they refused to shorten the beam to fit to my garage door. I called Steve and let him know about the situation. He came out the next day, assessed the situation, and did a great job of installing the garage door opener. It definitely pays to get a second opinion when you are having service done. Steve literally saved me hundreds of dollars because the other garage door company wanted to sell me their garage door opener instead of installing the one I bought to have installed. I will be recommending Precision Overhead Garage Door Service to all my friends and neighbors. Thanks Steve! read more

Contracted with Precision Door Service of Lexington based on Angie's List reviews and the reviews on Precision's website. I assumed based on these reviews that they would do a quality job at a competitive price. Prior to arranging for Precision to do the work I obtained quotes from 3 local competitors to replace my garage door springs with quality long life replacement springs. All 3 companies are reputable and have been in business for many years. The 3 all inclusive quotes were: Competitor R - $210, Competitor O - $220, Competitor A - $205. I have had prior positive experiences with 2 of the 3 and should have just went with one of them. But based on reviews I read I decided to arrange for Precision Door Service to replace the springs, even though they wouldn't give me a firm quote over the phone. Once Precision arrived they quoted $310 or 50% higher than their competitors. I declined their service, paid their $70 service fee to provide a grossly overpriced quotation and contracted with Competitor A who did the job as they quoted for $205. Competitor A also provided a very adequate warranty. My assumption is that reviews are, or should be, based on price and quality of work. After this bad experience I come across a Dateline NBC investigative story on the Precision Door Service organization that paints a very poor picture of the company. read more
