Apex auto is like the Mr. Lube chain Always up selling. I took my car to Apex Auto for a safety…read more They said it would be a couple hours to perform the safety. 2,1/2 hours after I dropped off the car I got the call. I was told the car has rust on the roters, the brake pads pass not the roters. The car will need the brakes replaced, cost will be $400.00 . I thought about it, it didn' t make sense to me but,I said okay put on new brakes. I got the call at 3:39pm I asked if the car would be ready today, he said it would be they close at 5:00pm . So I was left to believe all is good. Called a hour later told me the brakes are done ,But to move forward with the safety the car needs tires. " HOW DID WE GO FROM CAR NEEDS BRAKES FOR THE SAFETY TO NOW THE CAR NEEDS 4 TIRES" they had the car for 2,1/2 hours for the inspection. So what do I do I othorized them to put on the brakes and now I'm not getting the car until Monday. So yes I let them UP SELL ME. They should have told me everything wrong with the car on the first phone call. Not have me belive the car needs brakes and will be ready before we close at 5pm. I will never go back there again. They can't be trusted. The best advice I can give anyone is ask lots of questions Yours Sincerely Mark McCauley

Quote we were given was not close to the work that was done and charged. It was nearly 100% over…read more Garage never called to let us know it was going that much over, only that it would be finished later than anticipated. I understand that these things happen, but when you quote 1300ish for work and you come in at 2400, something is wrong. I'm not inclined to bring my vehicle back here knowing they can't give me an estimate a bit closer. I usually add 20-30% as a buffer knowing small parts break or need replaced when you do that kind of work and I am completely understanding of it, but this is egregious. After a review elsewhere, the garage responding claiming they were in contact with my wife several times and had told her all the prices and had called me to tell me, too. And then also claim they came in under the price they quoted her. They absolutely did not discuss any changes in pricing with us, only timeline. We have the screenshots of the phone calls, they are as follows: Feb 10 at 1:24 PM - my wife called to make the appointment Feb 14 - car dropped off. Feb 15 at 3:15 PM - called my line to tell me the car wouldn't be ready that day. I took that call, there were no discussions of pricing, just that a mechanic was trying to get some bolts off so they wouldn't need replaced. I believe those would be the parts that were maybe a total of $90.10 on my invoice (cam bolt and nut). Those parts do not come close to making up the discrepancy, but at no point in that conversation was I given any price or number to indicate the increase for those parts or any additional work. Feb 16 at 11:55 AM - my wife called to see if the car would be ready that day Feb 16 at 12:14 PM - they called my wife to let her know the car was ready. At no point during any of these calls was pricing discussed or the fact it was going to be significantly over the quoted price. In fact, no calls were made to us about any work until it was nearly close of business on Wednesday. You did NOT come in under the price we were told, the price she was told was well under $2,000 and we paid well over that at $2384 and change. I think their service advisor is lying to cover his own butt on this one. I am fully aware that repairs usually go over at a garage but to go over by nearly $1000 is a lot. This was even after they told us if we got all the work done at once, instead of several visits, that it would be cheaper. I believe we were told a difference between 1700 versus around 1300. And they still went over what the larger cost was, despite us doing it in one go instead of spacing out the visits. Not only are they not giving accurate estimates, they will call you a liar online.
