I am not one to typically go online to comment or leave reviews unless someone or some place really impresses me. Precisely Veiled Tattoo is one of those places. My wife originally found PVT online and said we should check it out. When I saw that it was in Killeen, I think I said something like "Are you out of your mind?" I decided to go with her for her consultation and was immediately impressed. PVT does not have what I would call a traditional tattoo shop business model. If you are looking to go in and pick something from the wall/ binder or get something done right quick on a whim, this is not the place for a you. Amy took the time to talk to my wife and get her to an artist that suited her needs. I was impressed enough with what I saw that I came back the next month for consultation day. Once again Amy spoke with me and directed me to the artist that she thought best suited my needs. This is where Ty'Esha (Ty) came into the picture. I told her my idea and she seemed super stoked about doing it. It is important to me that an artist is interested in doing the tattoo as I believe the end result reflects it. Since I wanted to do a large back piece Ty got me on the schedule for the soonest blocks on the schedule that supported such a piece. With that said, you may have to wait a bit to get on the schedules of these guys. People wait in line for a good product. Ty checked in with me a few days before my first session to confirm and when I showed up, she had everything ready. We did a final concept review, sized up the artwork, and started laying down ink. I have a few tattoos and what I look for in getting one has changed over the years. Like everyone I want a good quality piece, but almost as important to me now is that I have a good experience getting it. Let's face it, if you are not having a good experience while your getting a tattoo, then you're just going to lay there and hurt. Ty made it as fun as it could be with great conversation and great music. I have to have good music playing when I'm getting a tattoo. Ty's work is fantastic and I am extremely pleased with my tattoo experience. So much so that I'm looking to get on her calendar for another one (after a little recovery time). Bottom line is cheers, PVT. Great shop. Keep it up. More importantly is to reiterate my appreciation for Ty and her talent as an artist and for making the experience one for the books. I recommend both, even though it might result in making it harder to get on the schedule. read more

Well we're do I start.. besides only the most amazing artist, a clean shop, and a business model that caters to the customer, and not the artist... yup you read that right... See most shops you walk in, hope the artist gets your ideas, wait for them to draw up something on the fly.. sit down and get to work.. then what happens someone else walks in, now your artist stops and takes care of that new customer, all the while you fading out of the zone... and before you know it.. you waited 10, 15, 20 minutes.. yeah that sucks... But with PVT, you go to a consult day... were all you do is talk about your tattoo 1 on 1 with the artist... it's first come first serve...if you have to wait they have good for you.. Once you talk to the artist you put down a deposit to lock in your appointment.. (And yes that money goes to the total cost of your tattoo)..So when you go back on your appointment date, all you have to do is worry about doing what you do while getting tattooed.. no lengthy interruptions, so when you book a 3 or 4 hour apt you get what you paid for...also how many times have you wanted a big piece say a sleeve or even a full back piece...well go to another shop hope you have lots of cash on hand.. while here you can easily do it in sessions.. so you don't break the bank...so far at PVT, I have had a total of 9 tattoos.. Full chest over up (which 40 other artist would not even touch... no I'm not kidding) knocked it out of park Full left arm sleeve, with lower half being a complete cover up. sugar skull on my ring finger (yup super small super detailed) Calvin and Hobbes on back of my hands Then multiple guest artist have completed 3 other tattoos.. Current project is a massive completed back cover up... Please ladies and gents look no further... this is the place to go for your tattoo needs... Dont believe me do your research.. not just on the internet.. Go to any shop and walk in and see how you feel, and your first impression... Then.... go to a consult day which is easy to remember cause it is ALWAYS the 1st WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH...go in take a look around sit down talk to one or even all of the artist... Then tell me how you feel...my money is on you leaving that day with an appointment being booked... read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING GETTING YOUR TATTOO HERE!!! This review should have been about a more positive, optimistic and successful tattooing experience, unfortunately it was the opposite, here is the foreground of my horrible story: On my consult day I met Amy with her usual "professional caring facade" referred me to one of her "artist" Ms. Moon. The consult went ok, I was able to express my artistic vision for my tattoo she seemed like she grasped my concept and vision for the outcome of my art piece. I was excited and I put down my deposit and came back to get it done. The day of the session Ms. Moon came in late, she came in smelling like marijuana, and hungover. She kept bragging about her night of partying; how she was still rolling on MOLLY and the coke from the party of the night before with two other artists Ian and Sam Castro That was the first red flag raised. I continued ask if she would be able to perform and if maybe we should reschedule, she swore that she was capable to tattoo; So I went through the 7 hours of tattooing. At the end of the session Ive noticed the outlines were crooked, she had missed a major detail of my tattoo, and coloring was off. I expressed my concerned and she swore to me it was the protective plastic over it. She also told me to leave the derma-plastic for five days. At the end of the five days I removed and my tattoo had not improved. The following month Amy reached out to try and schedule my next session, at that time I expressed my feelings to her and she instead of allowing me tell her my story she brushed me off and said she couldn't returned my deposit and basically released the call on me. Never again did I go back. She obviously needs the $100 of the deposit. Going forward Amy the owner could improve her professional skills such as customer service, genuine empathy for her clients, specially when they're trying to express their concerns. She should also have a more strict vetting procedure to weed out her artist, highly unacceptable for people who are pay $180 an hour. I hope that if you're reading this while waiting for your consult leave the establishment Amy only cares about your money nothing else. read more

I have been a patron of Precisely Veiled Tattoo for over 2 years now. From the moment I saw that PVT had a mandatory consultation day I knew that it wasn't just another tattoo shop near an Army post. The staff is incredibly friendly and the artists are excellent and accommodating. As soon as I told them what I was looking for I was set up with Travis Johns, who could not be a better tattoo artist if he tried. Incredibly professional, accessible, flexible and has taken my vast and varying ideas and worked with me and turned them from ideas, into the perfect tattoo. Travis has been tattooing both my wife and myself and has given us incredible tattoos to be proud of, honestly disappointed my time left in Texas is limited as I'll lose out on a great artist. When I had discussed a botched nipple piercing I had received when I was younger, I was immediately made aware of their guest piercer, Ian Bell. The very next day I made an appointment to see Ian, he gave me accurate and professional advice about what had gone wrong in my last piercing, and what to expect from this one. Ian was able to pierce me again with out issue, and much easier than the first time. Ian was quick, courteous, and brutally honest about everything I asked him, all qualities I highly value. Precisely Veiled Tattoo has been my one and only for any body art/modification for the last 2 years, their professionalism has been unmatched by any of the shops I have visited in my time of being tattooed. As I said earlier, I am extremely disappointed that my time in Texas is limited as PVT is a true gem. read more

The best Tattoo Artist in Texas... Amy is absolutely one of the most professional, kindness and genuine artist and person I ever met. She is an expert in her field, she makes her customers feel so welcome and comfortable in her shop. I started a sleeve with her and will definitely finish with her, I will not allow anyone to tattoo on me ever again once Amy is still in the "tattoo profession". Due to her kind welcoming spirit, my tattoo was painless. I waited and was anxious to get into her chair for some years now - not her doing, but due to military deployment etc. which set me back to when I originally wanted to start my sleeve and waited for her schedule availability. I am super elated that I waited for her, because for a permanent decision; I needed a meticulous and permanent artist and that she is!! Additionally, she works super-fast - for my first session of 3-hours, I almost have a half of sleeve. I no longer live in Killeen or Texas, but I will travel to ensure I finish my tattoo sleeve and ONLY with Amy. Her shop is spotless and her attention to detail and artistic mind is spot on. I encountered Amy Shandick through a couple of friends stationed at Fort Hood. Their glowing reviews and gorgeous work convinced me that I must have her create a piece to celebrate my daughter and I. Though I live in Florida, we were able to work together via Pintrest and social media to come up with with a spectacular design. Amy ' s vision for what I wanted far exceeded my own idea. We met in person at the Tattoo Convention in Tampa and I was blown away. Every element I had asked for was there and then some. Not only was the design work excellent, but the tattoo experience itself was unlike anything I had ever encountered. I can only liken it to working closely with a massage therapist. Amy ' s attention to every detail was unwavering and she dealt with potential customers with grace and compassion. This is not someone scrawling on skin to make a buck. Horrible ending to a tattoo. I am permanently disabled with MS and 4-12 inch metal rods in my back. I have a service dog for mobility and low retrieval. My husband is a war vet with severe ptsd he has a SD Harlee that helps with agoraphobia and many medical mobility issues. Our Service dogs were quiet and did their jobs efficiently. It's such a shame we encountered such discrimination I was told by the owner AMY. I can not bring my dogs back I need to find someone to watch them when I get service. I said my husband is lucky to even walk in here with his severe ptsd and you come into the lobby he's waiting at and say your dogs aren't welcome here. They might have been born dogs but they are a medical device just like a wheel chair or walker. She clearly as an owner doesn't know our rights and now has permitted us to continue a service her tattoo artist started.the other option was I could come into the place alone so I don't offend others. Bad bad business. Terrible knowledge in ADA and service dogs. My SD has been my hands and feet for 7.5 years. Such a shame read more

I originally wanted to go to Precisely Veiled Tattoo to have a cover up done by Amy since my daughter's best friend's mom has been going to her for years and she does beautiful work. Unfortunately her new client waiting list is up to 2 years. Under normal circumstances she would be worth the wait but I had this awful tattoo that needed to be covered up before a wedding I'm in, in October 2019. I went for my consultation with Amy and she advised that I see her guest artist, Sam Castro, and that she had an opening in less than 2 weeks. She showed me her portfolio and I was sold. I met with Sam the Thursday before my appointment to talk about what we could do to cover up my horrendous mistake. On the day of my appointment, she showed me what she drew up and I loved it!! She is an amazing artist and now has a client for life. I can't wait for her to cover up some and revamp other pieces I have. If you choose this shop you will be in great hands!! Precisely Veiled Tattoo is straight up amazing! I happened to stumble across Amy Shandick's Instagram page while I was browsing the hashtag coverup. When I saw her talent, I knew I found the artist I wanted to do my half calf realist Texas floral cover-up. I went to the next consultation day to discuss my idea and meet Amy. I like how they dedicate a specific day for consults rather than people popping in & interrupting the artist and the client. The professionalism all the artists possess is not what the general population is use to when they think of a tattoo shop. Amy has confirmed every appointment a few days ahead and checks on my healing process a few days after. I know I am not just another tattoo to Amy, but rather a delicate piece of artwork that she takes pride in signing her name to. All the artist, including guest artist, are extremely talented!!! Amazing! The tattoo convention was coming to the Milwaukee area so I checked out the artists coming and their work. I chose Amy for her beautiful life like floral work. I contacted her and she got me in for an appointment when she would be in town. Excellent communication considering it was long distance consultation. When I met her on the day of my appointment she was wonderful and knew exactly what I wanted with what she had prepared for me I was scheduled for a four hour session but I hit my pain tolerance at three. She could've pushed me the extra hour to get paid for her for full 4 hours that I was booked for, but she said she was not comfortable continuing on. I think that says a lot about her and her character and it not just being about the money. She did a cover-up and it is beautiful. I cannot wait for her to finish it I will be traveling to meet up with her in Minneapolis at another tattoo convention. So glad I found her! Talented honest empathetic and professional! read more

I love this place! I have almost finished my sleeve with Amy's and Ty'Esha's art work. Before coming to this shop I hunted and searched for Amy for almost a year before finally finding her, all because of a tattoo my husband saw of Amy's in AIT. Color me excited when I found out she was in the same city that I lived in but I honestly would have traveled just to get work done by her. Her business practices are amazing and love how much variety she has in her shop with all the award winning artist that guest spot. She now has Ian Bell as a guest piercer and I am tickled pink about it. He is an amazing body modifier and piercer. I have several piercings and the one done by Ian was the best one. As he says, he's magic! If you want a place that will really get to know you and provide you with the exact tattoo that fits you and who you are this is the place. I was looking for a place to get a new helix piercing and In my search found Precisely Veiled!! I called and asked if they did piercings and their guest piercer happened to be there and I was able to make an appt! I went in and met with Ian and he was wonderful! He has a beautiful selection of jewelry to choose from also!! It's all amazing quality and not just your basic piercing jewelry (so expect to pay a few extra $$ for a gorgeous piece of forever jewelry) He answered all my questions and helped me chose my jewelry. Once in his chair it was as easy as 1-2-3 done!! The pain was about a 1.5-2 on a scale of 1-10 and once he was done it didn't feel like anything!! It's about a week later and it's healing beautifully. Ian is a guest piercer and is in their shop I believe the first Friday-Sunday if every month...definitely check them out for your next piercing!! I have been going to see Amy for years now and let me tell you.. she really has amazing talent! One of the sweetest, caring, honest, and loyal ladies I have ever met in my life. She is always worth the wait and I understand why she is always so busy with clients...she is the best in this area. I only go here because this is the only place to go where you can get amazing and the best tattoos. She treats her clients with respect, calls them and makes sure her clients are informed of everything about their tattoo appointment date, and even after getting a tattoo she really makes sure you are well taken care of. Another amazing session with the best tattoo artist I know. Amy has taken my tattoo from "I keep it covered because I'm embarrassed of it" to showing it off. I started with her almost 5 years ago and will not let anyone else touch me. I even came back from Georgia, when I lived there, to have her work on me. I had a small back piece that wasn't done correctly from the start and a small hip piece that had similar issues. She took the challenge in stride and transformed my mess into a work of beautiful art. She has a gentle hand and a no matter the challenge, she can do it. The shop is clean and comfortable. I did an online consultation around May, I believe, with Amy for a coverup tattoo on my ankle. She was super friendly and came up with an amazing design based off the parameters I gave her-- I told her I definitely wanted a sunflower but other than that she could do whatever she wanted. When I first walked into the shop I was greeted by a very nice lady and Amy was quick to see me. She was very sweet and likeable from the start. She stopped several times throughout the 3 hours to make sure I was doing okay, and had a tv in the room so I could watch Netflix and keep myself occupied. Honestly one of if not the best shops I have ever been tattooed in. I was in this past weekend for a spot with one of their guest artists Sam Castro who is honestly the most friendly artist I have ever been tattooed by. She is also super talented as are all the artists there. The staff are very professional and I have always felt very welcomed. The owner Amy cares deeply for all of her artists as made obvious when she reminded Sam to make sure she ate before her next appointment. They do things so different yet I love it! Amy is the bomb.com. She had me leaving confident and happy versus before I was very discouraged and did not like my tattoo at all. I had it done elsewhere (won't disclose because I don't want to talk poorly about them) but as you can see it was not something I wanted to show off to anyone so Amy saw me on one of her consultation days and had me leaving feeling better about it.
