Disgusting customer service. The owner thought she had hung up the phone and I could actually hear her whole conversation about me to her client saying how horrible I was only because I had made an appointment (in which I was on my way and wanted to see if I could come in earlier) and she didn't have it in her schedule. I'm so glad I dodged the bullet. And I've attached the photo with the confirmation of my appointment. Even if there was an error/mistake, the way you spoke to me was horrendous, and even worse that you had your client on a chair. Unfortunately, I had an appointment for today - called to confirm, went straight to voicemail. I called again on my way over, went straight to voicemail. I get here, am looking around for where to go, went straight to voicemail. I find it - note on the door - she's out of the country for family emergency. I really understand family emergencies and I don't mind rescheduling but me dragging my ass out here thinking I'm getting a fresh cut today to find that note is wildly unprofessional. Esther moved my date of service without notifying me or rescheduling. I only discovered the change when I called to confirm the location of the salon one and a half hours before my scheduled time. When I told her that I'd requested off from work, and I am not available Saturday, she said that I could get my refund from Groupon. Groupon has made their refund process very difficult for the customers. You may only get a refund within 2-3 days of the purchase and only under certain circumstances from certain vendors. Esther seemed completely professional and normal until 1.5 hours before the scheduled appointment time, so there was no way to get a refund. When I told Esther that Groupon will not provide refund because the window had passed, I asked her what time I should be there. She replied, "I'm sorry I'm unable to provide a service for you at this time." She canceled with no notice for a keratin service I was getting for a very important business meeting next week, after I'd arranged it with her in advance, costing me time and money--completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I will no longer be using Groupon, and I wish I could give zero stars to this inconsiderate, unprofessional, selfish woman. If you want to be treated like a hair dreser's servant, like a piece of trash, and to be completely disregarded and left hanging, then go ahead and patronize her. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!!!!! EVER!!!!! I purchased a Groupon for a balayage priced at $127. The day of the appointment, the stylist texted me asking if I could come an hour later. She then arrived late. Once I took my hair down she said "oh you have a lot of hair". When I showed her what I want done she said "oh that won't work". She then proceeded to criticize my hair by telling me I had "too much breakage" and that it was "dry" and "unmanageable". I have never in my entire life had a hairstylist tell me that or refuse to even touch my hair. I color/cut my hair maybe once a year. I don't use heat on my hair at all - not even to blow dry. So I'm confused as to how she could assess that there was that much damage. I then asked her what my options are. She refused to answer my question and continued to criticize my hair in a negative and demeaning way. I felt humiliated. I took the afternoon off work and I have a friend's wedding this weekend and was really looking forward to having my hair done. The stylist told me "there is absolutely nothing I or anyone else can do with your hair". Which I find extremely difficult to believe. I truly believe she saw how much hair I had and what I wanted done and didn't feel like putting in the work. Oh, and Groupon is refusing to refund my money because the refund was "outside the cancellation window". But I had no idea the stylist was going to refuse treatment on me until the day of. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT VISIT THIS SALON AND DO NOT USE GROUPON. read more

Everytime I got my hair done with Aster , I've got a lot of compliments! She took her time to set up my hair and asked me what I would like. She came early in the morning last minute for me the last time because I've got a haircut somewhere else and I needed her to fix my hair color to make it look better. Great experience! Very personal attention without the distractions from others you would have in larger salons. Aster's ability to listen to her client and her attention to detail makes her a cut above (pun intended). Even my problem hair with the back wavy, the front straight, performed under her care. Very skilled and knowledgeable about color and hair care products. She seems to love what she does and it shows in the final outcome. Happy with my updated style. read more

Saw Aster for a color correction, I had hot roots and needed some TLC fast! I emailed on a Saturday night for an appointment and she took me the next morning at 11! Esther was very unprofessional and rude. When I showed her my Groupon that I purchased for balayage, haircut, and blow-dry, she said that since my hair was long and thick, she will charge we an extra $25. I said, okay. However, later, when I showed her how I want my balayage, she said she would charge me an extra $100. Keep in mind that I had already purchased a Groupon for $84. She was very rude when I asked her if something would look good in my hair. She did a test on a section of my hair. Later, when she saw the result, she said that she would have to charge me more because of how much product she will be using. When I said never mind, I will go somewhere else, and I also told her that she had terrible customer service, she quickly and harshly took my apron off, which made my phone drop and a little scratch mark. She also stated that since I said she had terrible customer service that she will not change the one section of hair color back to normal. " if you think that I have bad customer service then I will not change your hair back to your original hair." I made her change it back because that was not right of her. PLEASE AVOID GOING TO HER. VERY Aggressive AND RUDE. She will keep adding money on top of your Groupon purchase. And when you tell her that you already purchased Groupon for the service you want she said that she cannot do anything about it and tells you to return it. However, you cannot return Groupon after three days. read more
