As soon as I walked in I knew I should have walked out but didn't want to be weird like that. Everyone gave me a look like why was I here. I sat down and after a few minutes I believe the owner asked if I had a appointment which I didn't. He said something towards the back of the room and a gentleman came to a chair and had me sit down. The gentleman started speaking Spanish and the owner had to translate and ask what I was looking for. Told him 2- 3 inches on the side and about a quarter inch off the top. Owner also asked about my side burns which I said yes assuming thay meant to blend them with my beard. Now had the barber followed the directions I wouldn't be as upset. Instead the ​took his own creative approach. My side burns are half shaved off creating a clear gap between my beard and side burn. The back of my head is butchered with varying lengths, lastly I comb my hair back for some reason the barber decided to shave half my head on one side shorter and create this line on time of my head so I could comb my hair to one side. Once he showed me the mirror there wasn't much I could do and honestly wasn't going to create a scene especially since I already felt unwanted. I got up and could have just walked out as no one seemed to care if I paid. I asked about a kid's cut. He asked how old and scheduled us for first thing Sunday morning. I brought two photos - both similar, but my son really wanted a part in his hair. Upon chatting, he said that he had his storefront for the last 7 years, and came from a family of barbers: his father and grandfather before him. He put on a Nat Geo-type show for my son and got to work. Koko was meticulous and patient. He spent an HOUR resculpting my son's thick hair. It looks amazing - he clearly took onto account the photos, but also the anatomy of my child's head and the previous haircut (which he said wasn't good, especially on top). But in 2-3 haircuts, he says that the top will look better. He clearly has an artistic eye and is meticulous. There were no long stray hairs, and the end look doesn't look artificial or forced (like the straight-across bangs my son got elsewhere, mehh). In fact, it looks SO GOOD!! The cost was half of what I paid at the last (good, but not great) barbershop. Incredible. We have absolutely found our new barber. Thank you!!

This is one of the few barbershop's that will actually shave with a straightedge. I've seen many shops that define beard trim as using an electric razor that tend to be afraid to model a nice beard, but not here. A few others would rather I keep a Jesus-ish beard. Meanwhile, the location is full of style. Sam (owner/barber) is a musician, so you're not going to be waiting and listening to rolling Stones while you wait. Not necessarily tv or country music. This actually matters to me. All in all, $30 for a barber cut I find well worth it, more than any barber I've been to.

A Traditional barbershop from the look and feel, but Sam the barber is one cool, hip, rocker who gives great haircuts. Sam does regular cuts, razor cuts, and best of all RETRO cuts. This is a Rock n Roll barbershop all the way, even though this is not one of those 'themed' shop - here the emphasis is on haircuts, not some artificial theme. Listen to some cool rock n roll while getting your haircut. in this othwise Old School shop. Chat about the legends of rock, or the up-and-comers, or just relax while you get a great haircut. So hip kats, come in, take a load off, and get your oil changed and your ears lowered. I'll be making Sam my regular barber from now on.
