First off i went to here because i was told it was a reputable location that paid good prices for gold. Well i never got to that point at all since i brought in some refined placer gold that i had melted down in to buttons. I have been buying and selling gold a little over 10 years i dont call my self an expert by any means but I am pretty well informed in the gold industry. I was greated by a lady i will mention no names but she was vary nice she told me there was a charge to test my buttons with her xrf machine, but if i had left a google reciew she would do it for free. This was really nice of her except there was a problem anyone in the gold buisness first off knows that home refined buttons are not smooth enough or flat enough to get any type of acurate reading with an xrf on one try no less. I kept quite explaining to the lady that i had done a home density test which also if you work or refine gokd you shoukd know that a gold density test is one of the most accurate ways to test the karat of gold if you know what other metals are in the gold, she didnt even know what the test was. She continued on with her xrf gun trying to explain that my gold was barely even 17 karats and did not do any other test i kinda laughed and just said thanks and walked out i had already known the purity of the gold was 20.245 karats i had it acid tested 2 times and had a firr assay test that gives ypu the purity to several decimal spaces hence the 20.245 karat which is usually sold as 20 karat gold but i woukd highly suggest anyone who goes there make sure you get several other tests before you go so u know exactly what your dealing with before you walk on to any place thats buyung your gold cause you always want to know who is being honest or if they even know what they are doing. Also an xrf is human calibrated which anyone knows humans make lots of mistakes so if you want to kmow true karat of your gols get a fire assay test the only true accuracy up to 99%. read more
