I visited a couple of weeks ago, back when we had warm-but-not-yet-sweltering weather. This park is a bit of a distance from Syracuse, but worth the drive. It's not too far off from Heritage Hill Brewery, so you can do a two-for and visit both-- however the park is lovely and worth a visit on its own. There's an overlook near the entrance where you can get a glimpse of the waterfall. However, the falls are also within walking distance of the start of the trail. The hill is on a slant and there are steep stairs, so the view may not be accessible for those who have difficulty walking. However, it was so calming just to sit and watch and listening to the waterfall. The day I went, there were others out but the paths didn't feel claustrophobic. I took some time and walked through the woods. The trail I took was relatively short, I think about a half mile total. I appreciated that there was a marker at the start that let you know how long it was. I am by no means a regular hiker (hoping to change that one day!) but this trail wasn't exhausting and was quite serene. This is a great park with a great waterfall and is definitely worth checking out! read more

Beatutiful park! The falls are gorgeous! The trail to the falls has several steps, so do noy be surprised by that. It is a short walk to the lower obvservation deck. It takes some leg power to get back to the top, but it is totally worth the effort! Other trails are flatter, and despite not getting a view of the falls, they are still lovely. read more

Pratts Falls is such a beautiful place to visit! I've come here just to eat some food and listen to the waterfall, and also to walk/hike the trails. You can park and walk to see the waterfall in under 5 min, or you can explore the park and see other streams too. It's a very tranquil place and I've only gone in the spring so far, but it hasn't been packed. You don't need hiking shoes for any of the trails and can easily bring a dog with you! There are some tables, BBQs, swing sets, and camping stations around as well. A great place to spend a day exploring outdoors, or to just come and relax and read a book. read more

Gosh what a beautiful place with a stunning waterfall and trails to enjoy. I absolutely loved it here and I can't wait to come back. Trails are wide and well marked and there is plenty of park space to enjoy without bumping into a million people. There is a park fee of 5 dollars per vehicle paid upon leaving FYI. Lots of parking and place to explore here and you could easily spend most of a day with a picnic and hiking exploration. The waterfall is a little challenging to get to from below if you're no good with stairs, so make sure you wear some good shoes and grab a hiking pole for the beautiful views! read more

Great view from up top and down below. Relatively easy walk down to base. 5 year old and myself spent 2 hours roaming around, side note his favorite park was the gravel piles back by the archery area. He made rock angels in the pile. read more

Pratt falls themselves are .6 mile stroll down a few sets of well maintained stairs. The middle view is close to the parking lot but the top can be seen from near the road. It used to be a saw mill back in the 1700s, so the resvoir feed to the falls is man made and a tame little pond. The other walking trails are more of a nice walk. There are some ups and downs but overall they are quite friendly to most fitness levels. On the North Rim Trail my husband and I went through a bit of woods, through some lovely fields, and back into the woods for a bit. There were lots of side loops to explore so we could keep extending the walk. The parking lot is sizable. The bathrooms are decent. The speed limit is an amusingly specific 17 mph. I was impressed that for being Memorial Day it didn't feel obnoxiously crowded- more like the locals who know about it were there. read more

The falls look great and are a short walk away from the parking lot. The parking lot is a suggested $2 donation. There is plenty of parking. The drive into the parking lot is green and beautiful. You'll know you've come to the right place when you see a giant cartoon picture of the falls outside. The falls on the cartoon look nothing like Pratts Falls. There are 3 sets of downward stairs to get to the lower falls. There are lots of picnic areas/tables. There is a covered picnic area with that you can pay to reserve that has a large stone pit you can BBQ in. I heard some music playing from the house structure inside the park. I am not sure if this is site to some kind of summer band camp. The trails were mostly shady. I explored only one trail (I don't know if there is more than 1 trail) and it was short. It circled from one side of the parking lot and exited on the other side. read more

The main gate to the park is still closed in the middle of March. You can park the car outside and walk into the park. The short trail to the fall is still icy (this year has been particularly colder than usual) but there are hand rails so it's not too difficult. It's worth the view. read more

A nice little county park with some trails and a beautiful small waterfall. I came here with load of heavy friends for a BBQ and it was nice and scenic. It's appears to be a hidden treasure that doesn't appear to get much traffic. Very clean park overall. We reserved the park shelter. It is a small shelter capable of seating perhaps 50-100 people. It has a volleyball net all setup in between the trees next to it (maybe that was us, I'm not sure lol). Best of all, they have some trails right behind the campground for all those adventurous souls looking to explore. The Pratt Falls is a short walk in and then there are a few other trails leading to what appears to be other campgrounds (we ran into another site with a wedding going on...XD). Great for kids. There's small playground with some see saws, swings etc... And plenty of nature to fully play around with. Looking to play a game of soccer, football or ultimate frisbee, there's a large field right next to the campground. There's actually quite a bit you can do with this place. It's definitely a good place to go if you are looking for a park to just relax without the busyness of a ton of people like Green Lakes. read more

A small but charming park. This was the closest county park near my home and I'd been here a few times growing up. This time, we came for a quick hike to the lower falls. I loved how full the waterfalls are here in NY and this didn't disappoint. There is a suggested donation of $2 per car. Once you drop your bucks in the slot, you can park in a pretty large parking lot. There are some barbeques and picnic tables and then you can walk to the lower falls. It's an easy gravel pathway. Once below, we saw the fall. It was beautiful and cool down there. There were just a handful of folks enjoying the scenery, walking dogs and taking snaps. It is a great place to kill some time and a pretty place at that. read more

Great park, the falls are gorgeous. Tried the trails for the first time and was disappointed in the markings for how to get to the North Rim Trail from the parking lot. The trail also has two shortcuts shown on the map, but they weren't labeled on the trail. This resulted in me getting turned around at one point and going back the way I had come. I think if you want to do the trail in it's entirety it may be well marked, but if you plan to take one of the shortcuts shown on the map, it's not obvious (and may end up not so short of a short cut!!!) read more
