I went to this overpacked with braiding hair beauty supply and Salon, Praise God Beauty on Tues, March 24 and made an appt for my 2 girls ages 7 and 9 to get large knotless braids. I even brought the youngest one in so they could see exactly what I wanted. A lady said the cost would be $100 each. There appt was at 4:30 on Friday. It took them 4 hours to finish and they didn't even have to wash or blow dry it. Here is the kicker. I asked how much it was they get on the phone to someone I said on Wed you said it was $100. She said no! It's $150 for the 7yr old and $170 for the 9 yr old. A $120 more. Do I said their hair is wet, you didn't dry it and it's March not the summertime. The back of their shirts are wet. Not only is this unprofessional you are NOT honoring the price you gave me. I told them this will be the first and last time I come here! read more

I absolutely hate this place. The store is so badly organized and reminds me of a bad episode of hoarders. You can touch anything without bags of hair toppling on the ground and falling on the ground. You have to squeeze through isles to find what you're looking for and on top of that the products are overpriced. I had a worker come up to me while in the middle of eating and and try to direct me to the hair I needed while talking with a full mouth of food. It was my second time coming to this store and each time I've walked out empty handed and pissed off beyond belief. I hated it the first time, forgot how much I hated, and made the mistake of going back a second time where I hated it even more. My mother's stylist recommended this place and I must say I was pleasantly surprised in the end. The location is very nice. I'm used to going to people's homes or less than picturesque neighborhoods so this was a nice change. I was greeted upon entering and the beauty supply side is well stocked, you can find most anything you'd want. I was concerned when they treated me as a walk-in (didn't know my style or hair color, didn't even have the correct color in stock, etc.) and it took a while to settle in for my 9AM appointment, we didn't start until 10 after they had to search for the hair and clean up some. I was initially upset when they tried to disuade me from the style I came in for (Senegalese twists) in favor of singles or micros and used a lot of heat to straighten my natural hair (3/4, mostly 4C) and tried to use small (rat tail) combs in it. Yikes. I was convinced it would be a poor experience and this shop would be a stereotypical Black salon (i.e. loud, disorganized, and with braiders too busy running their mouths and/or eating to work half the time) and I would walk out with some mess on my head. As if to confirm these fears, the first few twists done had lots of hair in them and were spaced widely. This is when I began to panic because that was not $190 work. As soon as I became visibly upset, they corrected the problem so kudos for that. There were several women working in rotation on the customers. All 7 are talented braiders and the ladies who left before me went out looking beautiful so that inspired confidence in me. I was out by 2PM and my hair looks very nice so I'm only knocking off a star for the rough start. The ladies of Praise God are very professional (they have been instructed not to be on their phones while working, none were eating or yelling across the room at one another, and the TV wasn't tuned to BET, but gospel music so keep that in mind if that bothers you) and speedy as advertised. They even claimed I will not lose a single braid and my hair won't be damaged in the slightest so I'm holding them to it. How long the style will last is up for debate but I'm satisfied. read more

I've been coming here for years and always appreciated the work cause it last sooo long however my main complaint remains is that they ask you for a reference picture but then do something opposite. The reference picture I showed them was their own work! So you would think they can mimic it again. Simple large box braids and I leave the store with smedium box braids. Asks way too many braids in the front of my head. That's not what I asked for or showed you. Soooo frustrating! Susie the one who braids the front of every customer head digs her comb in your scalp for no reason and then is very heavy headed and braids too tight. I constantly have to say you're hurting me. Ill have to give them a break because they don't listen to what their customer wants and I'll have no edges with the way Susie braids. How they get the feedback and adjust cause I really like the ladies here and know they are just trying to make their living. read more

I've been in this beauty supply store a couple of times and had to leave because the store is such a mess. Always want to support small businesses but could not consider spending my money there. Boxes and boxes everywhere and hair bundles/wigs/packages were spread out in such an unorganized manner that I had to step over. It was impossible for me to find what I was looking for. I had to dig through hair packs like I was at a swap meet. I asked the lady at the register to help me and she tried to convince me that I needed another item because she didn't THINK they had the hair type and color I was seeking. I walked out in shocked that the store was kept in such a mess. I went back months later and nothing had changed. read more

never go here! this is owned by an african woman who seems to let anyone do hair here. i came in for a color and about 6 braids. the stylist tried a demi color and assured me it would color grey. had to color twice and still did not take. too cheap to use detangler so she used plastic brushes which were extremely painful. asked for black grease to cover grey. stlyist slapped on color instead of they way it should be done and refused to try again when it didnt take. told owner i would not pay for color so she overcharged me and made me pay for the black grease that should be her supplies. threatened to call police on me if i walked out when she kept trying to make me pay for bottle of black grease. never go here. they are greedy and unprofessional and laughed at my pain. typical view of their culture. read more

Horrible place to come to. And instead of telling you they cant do a hairstyle they just would rather your child walk around with a messed up head and wont give a refund or anything.. They may be able to braid but sew ins they are bad at and its sad especially to spend all that money to get a no good hairstyle. I rate the a 0 bad customer service also read more

psa, do not...i repeat...do not go to this shop!!! very unprofessional. i had a hair appointment on 5/21/22 at 8:00 am, the braider (margie) did not get there until 8:30. then once she got there she proceeded to tell me that she could not do my hair and if i could come back on monday because she was there by herself, except for one other braider. my appointment was at 8:00 but there were 2 more people that had come in after me that she was supposed to do as well. i think that it was very unprofessional, first of all for her to be late and then to ask me if i could come back on monday...mind you i had just called the shop and spoke directly to her on thursday and she confirmed that she had me down to come in on saturday morning at 8:00...not!!! the attitude she had was as if she didn't even care, so again i say, do not go to these people because they have no type of professionalism or courtesy for their clients. if you want professionalism and great service please visit peace and love beauty supply & braiding, llc. they did what praise god beauty supply & hair braiding couldn't!!! do not waste your time with these people!!!! read more

This shop is TERRIBLE!!!!!! Before I get into the terrible customer service, I need to warn you guys about the condition of this shop. It is literally falling apart!!!!! The paint is peeling, the mirrors are in weird places, the floor is dirty and the lighting is uninviting. The customer service is uglier than the shop! I was not satisfied with my hairstyle and instead of being respectful and trying to correct it, the owner decided to scream at me and cause a scene!!!!! Just disrespectful. I didn't like this place at all! The store is a MESS! Hair is everywhere. I asked prior to arriving if I needed hair. They didn't have any color I wanted or would have settled for. My friend called to make an appointment for 9 am. We arrived at 8:44 am and it was packed. We sat there for almost 2 hrs without being serviced.
