As soon as arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the receptionist! Rachel introduced herself and then off I went to get my hair colored. Everyone was friendly, funny. I felt at home. Went here to try a local place in Fxbg, because I haven't had the best of luck with stylists in the area. At first, I didn't like my haircut, because it felt as though I paid $50 for what I already had. It hardly looked any different. HOWEVER, it honestly was probably my fault for not being very clear about what I wanted and not speaking up. Hair appointments really stress me out and make me anxious. My stylist, I think it was Rachel, was very knowledgeable and I could tell she really tried her best to give me what I wanted, while also giving me her professional opinion. She also didn't get frustrated with me, which made me feel better about the visit, and I really appreciated it (thank you Rachel). She also said I could come back if I had changed my mind about bangs, free of charge. I didn't go back to get bangs, but I did go back to get the top thinned. I tipped her again and that was it. I wasn't in love with my haircut, but I was happy enough. And like I said, it was probably my fault! So thanks Rachel! Would definitely go here again simply because of her patience and professional attitude. read more

I got extensions put in a downtown salon, and Rachel was very nice and listened to what I wanted, and told me to call if I wanted to make any changes. A few days later I called back, to get an appointment with Rachel stating I wanted to have a few adjustments made to my extensions. I believe the person that answered call was Hannah, but not certain. The young lady was very accusatory when I told her I had been there a few days prior, asking my first and last name several times, with an attitude, As if I was t telling her my real name. Finally she said she would take my name and number and someone would call me back, that was over a week ago....no call! I didn't wait to see i didn't wait, I contacted another salon and not only got an appointment it was for the same day! Needless to say I will it be returning and the receptionist just cost them some business. read more

I originally had an a appointment to have my hair trimmed & foiled with Vanessa. At the last minute she hooked me up with " the "Fall" hair I wanted and changing up never phased her or anyone else. What I got was three colors, a beautiful smooth blow out & awesome looking hair. The salon has a nice feel, everyone is friendly & playful. Everyone works hard and the establishment is extremely clean. Vanessa is a color genius and will listen to exactly what you want. Thank you! T Cooke read more

Since Covid I've moved on from downtown salon. My stylist took a suite at Phoenix Salon Suites in Central Park. I appreciate that I am the only one there and that Vanessa follows strict Covid protocol. I give Vanessa Walker 5 stars. read more

Had a terrible experience with a girl named Brittney. She was short and rude and seemed to be more concerned with her cell phone that taking care of my mother. She appeared a bit disheveled as if she had slept in her make-up and was dressed very provocatively for someone who leans over people all day. What ever it takes for tips (hard pass) Won't return. read more

I went here recently for a cut and color by Julie--- they've got great customer service and will treat you like guests in their home. I love that Julie teaches as she's doing my hair, I went home with two products that I use every other day and I don't bother with anything else. Overall, great experience. I do wish they were open earlier in the day so they could squeeze in more appointments-- she's usually booked 1.5 months in advance if not more. read more

As many people know, it can take a long time to find a good hair stylist that you can trust with your hair. I have to say that my only regret is not finding Julie sooner...I would've avoided a lot of bad hair experiences. Don't let the location or size of this salon fool you. I've traveled and lived all over the world and I've gotten my hair done in many of the hair "meccas" of the word -- Rome, Paris, Milan, New York, LA. I would put Julie up against any one of those stylists in a heartbeat! This woman is amazing as is the customer service provided by the staff at Downtown Salon! read more

This salon is great. They are always on time with their appointments but they don't rush you. They spend as much time with you as you need. Kia is fabulous- she's been cutting my hair for a couple of years now and she always does a great job. She even teaches techniques on how to style the cuts she gives me. Plus the price is very reasonable. I couldn't ask for more. read more

My whole family loves this salon. It's classy, yet casual, and very friendly. My husband and daughter both have their hair done by Cija. She really knows what she's doing and she takes direction well. They're very laid back and fun. I sometimes bring my dog with me when I visit. They treat her like royalty, bringing her snacks and playing with her. Plus, if you look like you need it they'll give you a glass of wine. You really can't go wrong here. read more

Awesome service, my granddaughter wanted to dye her hair back to the natural color or close to it. She had her hair a deep Maroon. We thought would take several trips to get back to blonde but they accomplished this in two sittings and her hair feels great. We had went to the salon by the mall and was told it would cost almost $200 and would be at least five settings over a one year time, amounting to $1000. We knew it would be expensive but we were shocked at that price. We went to two other salons they also said it could be a long process, but not a year and nowhere near $1000. But most places did state that it would be close to $400. This salon accomplished the process with an outstanding outcome for a little over 200. I wish I could give 10 stars. She is sooooo happy and I cannot thank the entire staff. They really made my week. ONLY COME HERE IF YOU WANT GREAT SERVICE AT A FAIR PRICE. read more
