Not to mention a certain gym teacher there that acted inappropriateky around myself and made some highly inappropriate comments to me. I was too afraid and embarrassed to speak up. And don't get me started on the athletic programs when I was there. They talk about eligibility requirements for sports, but if you are a star athlete or going for a state title, that doesn't matter. My experience there among other things in my life made me glad that I never had children because I wouldn't want them to go through what I went through there. I said what I said.

My roommate (who is 25yrs old) got jumped one day (yes, durning the day) just going to the 711 right behind the apartments . He was by himself, minding his own business, buying cigarettes. When he left the store he was approached by a high school kid, asking him for a cigarette. When my roommate kept walking and said no, he was followed by 4 high school boys, one of them had a broken arm because he had a blue cast on. As they followed him home, they kept referring to my roommate as a "nigger"...he is very white. He turned around and said "I'm not a "nigger" leave me alone." (Probably with a few cuss words in there, let's be honest). Anyways, as soon as he turned around, they ambushed him. The boy in the blue cast hit my roommate repeatedly WITH his cast in the ribs, and face. The kids also stole his cell phone... Long story short, we talked to the police countless times and they never got back to us. We also made a special trip to talk to principle Lundie. Security told us he was too busy, then I became a bitch and told her I needed to speak with him RIGHT NOW...his schedule all the sudden freed up, we sat and talked to him about what happened.. and he said he couldn't do anything about it, to contact police. Mrachek I've noticed also use their website via parent/student portal for what assignments are due and what's past due, but I don't feel like it's always updated especially which assignments are going to become due. I did find it is a little hard to see what assignments my children are going to have due. I do wish that they would implement mandatory handwritten agendas for students to fill in, in every class, every day, even if they don't have anything.

Like all high schools, you get out of it what you put in (and sometimes not even then). The teachers were absolutely incredible with our autistic son. The students - amazing. I cannot tell you how impressed I was with the students. The special needs students had mainstream students volunteer with them, sometimes 3 mainstream to 1 SN. There was so many kids on the basketball team they ended up making two teams so everyone could play more. I'd go to the games and just practically cry with joy. My son had the best experience of his life with Grandview. It was worth everything we had to do to go there. I'm sorry Logan T had a bad experience. But Grandview is truly, truly wonderful.
