Julia Walsh, who ran for Arlington Heights Village President, was my kindergarten teacher. Olive recently expanded their offerings to provide all day kindergarten. Recent renovations will expand physical education and other classes. I have nothing but good memories of this school. I highly recommend Olive Mary Stitt Elementary School.

This school met all our expectations and then some. From the moment we walked in to discuss the registration the staff welcomed us with opened arms. They helped us with every step along the way and it was smooth process especially with moving half way through the school year. Now going into our second year here we still feel that this school was the right decision. Our daughter went to school at a NYC Public School and while that school is also great (FYI... P.S 122 was my elementary school also) this place really focuses on reading which is something that we feel is most important. NYC was trying to fit too many subjects all at once and for kindergarten and 1st grade we felt she should become strong in the basic foundation of education. All the teachers here are amazing and real sweethearts with the kids. But Mrs. Naughten and Mrs. Nordman are special to my family. Arlington Heights is known for its good school district and I can tell you that OMS definitely represents that.

He was very friendly and welcoming, he even had someone named ETON who helped along the way. He was showing me that the class of 27' I would be joining only had 9 students . I did not realize how small of a school this is. Mr Dang was the principle at the time I was told. He really helped me through my tough times as a student and pushed me through making me better myself. Sadly, in my junior year I slipped on a banana peel and fell of the roof onto a kiwi. I then gained flying powers and was invisible. Ethan on the other hand was causing issues with Javon and friends. And made fun of me for it, I will be forever scared but Ethan was the one who made it worse.

I especially liked the jumbo screen with subtitles and the rolling led around the arena with each graduates name. The adult and student speakers were all great too. Now a few areas needing improvement. First, I'm sure the District understands that many senior citizen family members attend and yet the nearby handicap parking spots were all closed off. I don't know if the District or the venue was to blame for that. Also, one of these days I'm going to attend a high school graduation where you can actually hear the student choir when they perform. Is it possible that our high schools do not have anyone who knows how to set up a sound system. Also, I'm always somewhat surprised how well the students follow instructions and behave as compared to the adults who scream and yell over the graduate names blocking out the next graduates name when announced, despite being asked to please refrain until all graduates have walked the stage. Let's do better next year. Meantime, congrats to all the 2026 graduates and best wishes.

This is my favorite elementary school. It has 2 floors. Teachers are knowledgeable and friendly…read more The first floor has Principle office, nurse office, social worker office, lunch room, gymnasium and classrooms from kindergarten to second grade, also the SAFE room and the three Special Ed. Classes. The second floor has classrooms from third to sixth grade and the library. Also, it has the music room and the art room. This school has SAFE program for parents who work early in the morning (6am) or late in the evening (up to 6pm). It's very convenient. The parking lot is average size; however, it is very crowded during drop off and pick up time. In the morning it is very busy at 8:15 am because parents usually drop off their kids 15 minutes before school starts (8:30 am) Many parents choose not to park their car; instead they stay in the car and wait on pick up line. As the result, the parking lot is available but no one can park their car. That causes horrible traffic congestion. To avoid the traffic, try to get there 20 minutes before the classes dismiss (2:30 pm) so you can find a spot to park. There is a sign that says you can't make a left turn out of the guest parking lot between the hours of 8-9 am and 2-3 pm. Also, make sure you are not going into the staff parking lot because it is only for staff and is the bus drop off lane.

Oh God- the worst years of any kid's life- Jr High!…read more It's hard to give any Jr. High a good review, since it's such a terrible time for most kids. I tried to put much of those years out of my memory, but there are a couple things about Frost that really did stand out for me I'll recount: My teachers were decent enough- Mr. Catalano was my science teacher- he really rooted for me when I aced my HS entrance exams and got into the accelerated track. On the flip-side was Ms. Costansa, my English teacher, she actually fought to keep me out of the accelerated HS English track because of my misbehavior. Somehow she couldn't see that my misbehavior was largely due to boredom from being unchallenged by her criculum- duh? Oh well, at least in HS English I got to hang out with normal kids instead of the AP geeks. Gym class. OMG, Mr. Steger was notorious- every boy in the 5-6th grade feared entering Jr. High because of this guy's reputation for embarrassing and harassing the boys in the locker room. I never had to jump naked for my towel myself, but the dude was huge and scary and he got pretty mean when other kids acted up. Not a really good deal if you ask me. I'm sure he's long gone now, but that's how it was in the 80s. French class. I had the best French teacher ever- she was this totally cool, cosmopolitan, artsy lady. She really cared about us learning the language and the culture, and took us all to the Creperie in Chicago. Mlle Doyle was the best. Math- both my Pre Algebra and Algebra teachers were really good. The kids in these classes were ahead of the other kids in Math and we were taught that way- nice to have reasonably tough expectations placed on our progress. So Frost was just OK, there were some really nice teachers, some were pricks, some good experiences, and some pretty bad. I booked lots of geeky kids in the hallway and got away with it. I suppose that experience typified my whole experience here: not really good, but not really bad either- 3 stars.

This is a wonderful school, where all the staff is so kind, and they have a social worker right on…read moresight to help. The principals are always around and greeting the students. The teachers are helpful and make sure the students understand the topic at hand. They have a wide variety of different club activities and sports. In the cafeteria they have vending machines that are filled with snacks. Over all this school will get a five out of five from me.
