The apartments are nice, but the maintenance is lacking. Once you get there, you find out that most of the residents do not eat at Watermere. They go to the restaurants surrounding it. One of the reasons my father wanted to go to an independent living place was because he was tired of eating alone, so he found this disappointing. But, once you eat the food, you understand why most residents don't eat there. It is terrible, and they charge the residents high cost for the subpar food. They recently went to a flat fee for the meal. They often run out of something, but you are charged for the item in the large fee even though they ran out of something. I think the manager should be forced to eat it every day, maybe it would improve. There also seems to be turnover in upper management. They seem like they want to fix the issues but their hands are tied. This place has such potential but it just seems poorly managed. It's not cheap, so where is all of the money going?

Mom looked at Bethesda and one other and decided Bethesda is where she wanted to be. The rooms are spacious. She is fed 3 times a day. A very hearty breakfast. Sometimes the meals don't appeal to her or her tablemates. But they can always order something else. It is not gourmet, but fills the stomach. Yes there are some bumps in service, but I bring to the attention of management and Summer, Chantal and Tina Marie make sure to work on it. My mother participates in bingo 4 times a week and casino outings, sometime restaurant outings. Lots of opportunities for activities and exercise and music. Starting with Julian (who's a real gem), Summer (couldn't be more accommodating) & Carmen (going above & beyond to meet the needs of the residents (& their families) among many others at the facility. My uncle had turned into a recluse at his prior assisted living apartment & started falling a lot & broke his back so he needs more assistance than they're set up for. His time at Bethesda saw his old self coming back out. He was talking & joking & making friends. At mealtimes he sat at a table with 5 other gentlemen & felt a part of the group. His pride & joy was an apron one of the men gave to him to prevent spilling on himself (all the guys at the table wore one) He has now broken his back twice, had Covid twice & had a couple more falls without breaking any bones. Needless to say, he needs more skilled care & it's breaking our hearts to have to move him from Bethesda. If you are fortunate enough to have your loved one live at Bethesda, you won't be sorry! I will sing their praises from here to eternity

We visited dozens of sites on the internet, and drove to six places in the north Dallas area. The one place that jumped out to us was Parkview in Frisco. We have never been sorry that we chose this as our home. It is a an attractive facility, and the landscaping is beautiful. Parkview has several different floor plans and apartment sizes, but we chose a two bedroom, two bath apartment that meets our needs perfectly. It has a modern kitchen, large living/dining room and a comfortable balcony with a view. All utility expenses (except TV and phone) are included. Our maintenance needs are also included and fixed rapidly just by a phone call. But it is the friendly residents and serving staff that puts Parkview ahead of other retirement complexes. Smiles and hello's greet you in the hallways and warm conversations are the norm in the dining room. And by the way, the food and service iin our Embers Restaurant is first class, with a wide variety of selections and all prepared and served well. We love to take cruise vacations, and our life "aboard" Parkview is very much like that on a premium cruise ship: daily activities, entertainment, dining, etc. So if you are looking for a retirement place, you should come by Parkview in Frisco. We think you will like it . . . we certainly do. Bob M P.S. Here's a link to a website we publish highlighting life here at Parkview in Frisco: www.parkviewers.com

The last time I visited, I got the chance to see their new Assisted Living and Memory Care next door and...WOW!! That is the most astonishing AL/MC that I've EVER seen - on any side of the Atlantic ocean! It seriously looks like a serene SPA with a Texas-twist - it's sooooo beautiful in every little detail and it's amazingly well thought through to help the residents thrive. It totally astonished me and still, I have a veeeery critical eye when it comes to living conditions and surroundings! :-D I definitely recommend this place! :-)

I think to highlight here: Windhaven's unique Spark program has made all the difference for her. Windhaven Senior Living is considered a premier Assisted Living and Memory Care property, and is relatively new, having been recently constructed. We've been pleasantly surprised that, after over four months, they have succeeded in creating a warm and family-like environment that met our expectations. One remarkable aspect that my mother-in-law particularly appreciates is the Spark program. This program is all about providing seniors with real-life experiences. She absolutely loves the cooking classes, and they have been fantastic in keeping her engaged, both mentally and physically. Witnessing her happiness and her positive sense of community here warms our hearts. The staff here is exceptionally caring and deeply involved. Overall, the staff's dedication to creating a welcoming environment for both the residents and their families is very present to us. We are very pleased with our choice so far, and Windhaven Senior Living appears to be the perfect fit for my mother-in-law. We would recommend this place. I'm sharing some photos here to offer you a glimpse of the facility. These photos were kindly sent to us after our initial tour, and I must emphasize that Windhaven values privacy highly, which is why we didn't take personal photos.

When I arrived to visit my mom, the smell overwhelmed me as I waited at the nurse's desk 10 minute while the staff was scrolling on their phones before acknowledging me and telling me what room she was in. On Tuesday February 17th my mom called me in tears stating she didn't like it there. Come to find out at 4am in the morning the staff woke her up saying they were going to change her colostomy bag but didn't. Multiple staff members came to look at it and then proceeded to complain in front of my mother that they weren't and didn't like to change them. About 8am they finally changed it after asking my mom if she brought the supplies with her to change it! (you accepted the patient but asking for supplies, really?) I went immediately to the facility and spoke with Carmen the nurse director and expressed my concerns, but I felt as if I was talking with a wall. I then spoke with the hospital liaison and submitted a complaint. As I was getting to my mother room she was getting back from PT and needed to be transferred from the wheelchair to the bed. The nurse proceeded to ask me how they normally transfer my mom to the bed. I told the nurse they usually use 2 people and asked her shouldn't you know how to transfer patients. Her excuse was that it was her first day with her. She went to go get someone to assist her and came back with a lady who had a very bad attitude as you can hear her complaining as she entered the room. (Very unprofessional) Needless to say they almost dropped my mother. Had I not been there to slide the wheelchair back under my mom she would have fallen!!! I expressed that this is unacceptable care to the nurse director and hospital liaison. That day I requested a transfer to another facility. When I asked for an update Sunday February 22nd on the transfer I was told they would check on it and I didn't hear anything. Tuesday February 24th, I was told the transfer wasn't put in because the case manager was under the impression we had changed our minds. (Without talking with us) During my mom's stay she did PT/OT for about 20-30 a day, the rest of the time she was stuck in her bed. Her diaper was not changed, nor did they rotate her position in the bed without a fuss. When concerns were brought to the Center Director, he basically said my mom probably didn't remember. I had to tell him I am here frequently and have everything written down, even when I visit, I have to tell them to do things because if I didn't nobody comes in to check her! Not once was my mom offered to join any activities. The food was served cold the whole time and when asked why, we were told they were trying to get the hot plates fixed. My mom was supposed to be transferred to another facility on Sunday March 1st, but the discharge paperwork was not completed so she had to wait. Come Monday morning they didn't have transportation to take my mom to her dialysis, stating they had her down as discharged and nobody could give answers as to why! It took 3 hours for them come up with a solution and that was only because I called to get my mom a later chair time! Beyond happy when my mom finally transferred that evening to other facility! Complete chaos, unorganized, and unprofessionalism is what this facility offers! The left doesn't know what the right is doing there! They made an already hard time even harder for us! I suggest you spare your loved ones and your sanity, take them someplace else!

In the past 40-days our family member who is a stroke victim has been forced to lay in her waste on a half dozen occasions because no one has been willing to come assist her to the bathroom even after she has called for assistance and has waited at least 90-minutes each time. She has been told by 1-member of the CNA staff that they are very understaffed and most nights there are only 3 CNAs for approximately 60 patients. My family member was even told to dial 911 (BY AN EMPLOYEE no less) if she has an urgent need. The crowning blow perhaps was the nonsense of last night, which carried over into this morning. The toilet in my family member's room was clogged and she repeatedly asked for it to be unclogged. This never happened after numerous requests so having to go to the bathroom and no staff responding to her call button, my family member got herself into a wheelchair and wheeled herself out into the hallway asking for assistance with the bathroom. Well the first CNA, a woman was heading to break and the 2nd CNA a man did not want to handle the task so the 2 of them stood there and argued in front of my family member about who should do this and where was someone named Pillar instead of just HELPING my 57 yr old stroke victim family member. I have tried discussing the situation with the Executive Director, Chris Hodge but he has refused to discuss these issues. His indifference and apathy are disgusting and frankly seem CRIMINAL to me! The "shadow of the leader" in this facility is very weak, which is most likely why their employees are performing badly. We have made arrangements to get our family member out of this HORRIBLE facility on Friday and my advice to anyone considering this place is to STOP and find a different facility.

When we first moved her in the director was new and was really working on having the facility live up to their advertisement. As the weeks and months went on it was apparent that this was not the case. The director was good but had a lot of push back from the upper management from what I heard and A LOT of turnovers. They fired the director a few months in and put a temporary person in there for a while and then the Allen director who stayed in Allen. I worried about my mom being there with no supervisor over the caregivers. You didn't know what they were doing and there were some caregivers that were definitely not trained to take care of someone. My mom cannot walk and needed a Lyft to be moved to the recliner, wheelchair or shower. They were always telling her that they didn't have anyone there that could move her with the Lyft. When discussing this with the sales lady it was said that this would not be a problem. She was also supposed to be in a house with other residents that were in wheelchairs etc. when later they moved her to the house next door with memory care residents. That was a whole new set of problems. (still not sure why they did this, not all residents were like that at the beginning) One of which was a resident who came into my mom's room and peed by my mom's recliner. He was also constantly coming into her room. As I said before she cannot walk and cannot help in keeping him out. My mom has her wits about her as she just cannot walk or take care of herself in some ways. She depends on her caregivers. So many things had been addressed with no real results. We finally realized we needed to move her out. This caused us to pay more money for fees for a new facility and even 16 days that she wasn't at Mustang Creek which was around $1800.00 more to them. Mustang Creek's management would not even answer mine or my sister's email or phone calls once we gave notice to move her out. I could go on and on like leaving her in the shower so long she almost slipped out of her chair and did not want to shower anymore. She had bed baths from then on. And extra activities that seemed to be going on at some point in the parking lot with resident's prescriptions. Jewelry did go missing from my mom's room. Which is probably on us since we should not have trusted that someone wouldn't take it. What can you do as there were so many caregivers in and out all the time. Please do not put your loved one in this facility. No matter how much research you do a facility will never be better than your care. Always go and visit because you don't know what is really going on and when you show up you can see for yourself. My mom is now at Beehive in Frisco which has so far been a good change for her. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND MUSTANG CREEK ESTATES IN FRISCO.
