When this store opened, it was very appealing and the staff was great.I decided to volunteer here for about 3-4 years, until the "bomb" dropped on me, namely the owner's attitude(Candy and Tony). They ended up "firing" me since I had a disability and they wanted more hours to work at the thrift store.I had limited energy and did my best to keep up, with the on going donations. Their ex manager(Janice) was wonderful to work with, until these greedy and selfish "people", ganged up on her and she decided to quit after a while(I don't blame her either for their horrible attitudes).
Since she was the perfect mentor, she managed to get them out of debt(through hard work) and the owners tossed her aside like garbage. I honestly don't know why they have kept this name(Prairie Crocus), as they don't want to work along side of Metis people either. Such a disgrace to see this store go down hill and they over charge for things as well(and they keep the really good stuff in the back for theirselves). I've also seen ladies' blouses out on the floor and there were stains on them.Morally, I wouldn't advise going there, as they don't know how to treat customers most days and prefer to have "white" people come volunteer. Not meaning to sound racist, but this is what we saw when we worked there. Please keep clear of that store and I hope they will close down soon. read more
