I used to be a committed shopper and donor to this place. Mainly because the prices were reasonable and they donated to nonprofits. They seem to have changed their business structure for the worst. Sure they provide a 20% off coupon but it doesn't matter if you bring in five huge bags or one small one you only get one coupon. Their prices have also skyrocketed in recent years and not all people can afford to shop there. Have often found dollar store items priced much higher than they would be in the dollar store, based on the sticker still on the item. A discount store that sell everything used, some were older, kinda like a thrift store or good will in the US, but Canadian yah? My cousin came to look for Scooby Doo and Sponge Bob, what they did were smart, just put all the knickknacks in smaller mixed bags, and had the kids pick out the one they like, maybe 1 item out of 5 will be the one they looking for, could be a hot wheel or a figurine, anyway I heard they used to sell these for about $2.50, now it went up to $5.99, poor kids didn't even need all the things in the bag, but have to spend money to buy the whole thing for just 1 item. Btw I'm sure $69 for an old PS1 is still a good deal. read more

Their prices are sometimes higher than new. Not really any good deals there. Lots of clothes to choose from through.

There is a large selection and a variety of things. But super pricey for a second hand store.

So expensive in there now. This store is supposed to be for working class people. It's hand me downs. But now it's even more expensive than places like Walmart or clothing stores so what's the point of even getting second hand from a place that's profiting off of free merchandise they receive from their own customers and then sells it back to us as if it was brand new and antique. I miss having affordable thrift stores in this city. Value village is not one of those places any more. Just go to Walmart. read more

Sandy at Value Village Pembina is always kind, smiling, friendly, and professional. We have visited Sandy at Value Village Pembina 10+ times in the past 6 weeks as we downsized some of the goods we collected over a lifetime. We are very happy that with our move to a rural area for our retirement that we have been able to provide Value Village with quality items that can enjoy a new life in another person's home. Every Value Village in Winnipeg is the same - dirty and overpriced. There are definitely some great finds, but unfortunately, some of the prices are the same or higher than the original! read more

I know the store is clean and they clean everything before they sell it but I never want to touch anything while I am in there. The whole place just has an overwhelming feel of dustiness. It's great for cheap craft supplies or Halloween. read more

I have shopped in this store since it opened over 20 years ago - prices go up and down far too often depending on the employee doing the pricing but there is always a large selection of wares in good condition to choose from. Sometimes I find a good deal, sometimes I don't but there is always that chance I might score - treasure hunting forever!!! I have been shopping at this Value Village many times. It has a lot to choose from especially books and clothing. However, I have seen new tags on turtlenecks at Wal Mart with the price of $4 or $5. At Value Village the exact same turtleneck USED was $9. Really?? Get with it Value Village. If you are truly trying to make money for local causes and the Diabetes Foundation, lower your prices and keep stock moving. I think this Value Village is for rich people to drop off their excess goods thinking how wonderful they are helping poor people. Rick people don't even look at the prices I bet. Those of us in low or lower or lowest income brackets can't afford the prices. I ask you then, who is getting the benefit of these prices? I'm sure it is not the employees.
