I love Prada. This particular store, however, did not give me an experience that was up to par with other luxury brands.
First, the SA was extremely pushy, chatty, and over-the-top. I know I'm in Italy (and I also have many Italian friends), but this guy was just too much. It got kind of annoying when he was trying to force me to buy wallets when I had made it clear that I was buying no more than two handbags on this visit. I'm pretty sure he also made up a bunch of stories, but I played along anyway.
I was also unable to use my Bank of America card. The SA insisted that I should use my American Express for big purchases like these. I told him that I've made even bigger transactions on that BofA card. I ended up using a different card, but he was just kind of annoying.
The place also seems understaffed. When I came back around noon, the place was packed and most parties did not have an SA assisting them.
This store is really small compared to other Prada stores. I suggest you come in knowing what you want, or having a good knowledge of the collection, because there is very little on display.
I got what I wanted and Venice is beautiful, so I'll be generous and give an extra star. read more
