The shop is very well organized, toys are well kept and wrapped nicely together, and there were a lot of luxury brand clothing, gently used. They coin themselves they are West Hartford's finest children's consignment shop. The pricing was fair for most items (toys, decor, etc), but clothing seemed a bit high. They do have a rewards/loyalty program which I signed up for--I got 10% off my first purchase AND $5 off. Also, if you are local or close by they have 10% off Tuesdays. The young ladies that rang us up were very nice. I'd likely visit again since the shop is very clean. A lot of second hand children shops are cluttered, disorganized, and have a strange smell. I do love Max & Lily's Closet's mission to go green and reuse.

Not too cramped either. One of my favorite things... the clothes you buy always smell amazing! She had a great e-mail system to alert you of specials. Yesterday I got in on yellow, pink and purple tags were all $1! I got 11 items for $1 a piece- stocking up for next summer! Definitely worth your time!

On any given day there is an array of strollers and bouncers, play pens and toys lining the sidewalk leading to a treasure chest of lightly worn and loved pre-owned childrens ware. There is always a great deal, and April the owner will be the first one to point them out. She keeps the store well stocked with all the cutest clothing, accessories, and toys, and a variety of furniture. She told me in passing "Once you shop consignment, you'll never shop retail again" and she was correct.

They are upfront with the amount they will price your items at, and don't push you to sell items through them if you aren't happy with the price you will receive for it. Consigners receive 1/2 of the selling price of their items in store credit, or slightly less if you wish to get a check instead. There are always treasures to be found, and I know that the items will be good quality. The shop has moved next door to the original Baby go Round of years past. The building is newly renovated and so clean, pretty and welcoming. If you haven't been to Baby Go Round recently, you need to stop in!

Not even a nod that a living human person has entered the building. Which probably is why I then shop in Just Ducky with a less-than-ducky attitude. The store merch is just okay. Definitely not "upscale" or "top notch," as others have said. Lots of GAP and similar brands. The last time I was in, there was a Mini Boden display near the front that seemed promising, but upon closer inspection the clothes were faded and pretty well-worn. Some of the items are also really over-priced. There was an older model BOB stroller (before the more sleek, contoured design came out) for $199. I actually took a double take when I read the price tag. You can buy the newer version on Craigslist for the same or less. I did not find a pot of gold sitting in the carriage so I'm not sure what got factored into that price. All that said, they seem to do a good job of staying relevant to the season, which I'm sure is not that easy to do. This month, October, they have an ample selection of Halloween costumes, many of them in very good and even brand new condition. Consignment stores are usually hit or miss and sadly for me this is consistently a miss.

To be very unlike me ;0), I'm going to make a long story short. This store frustrated the bejeepers outta me! Ironically, their sizing is absolutely teeny tiny. For pregnant women. Who already can't sausage their way into anything. They carry their own brand of maternity clothes, intimate apparel and sleepwear, and the more upscale "Pea in the Pod" brand. PITP runs extremely small. It makes zip sense to me, but if I had a maternity store, I would make the clothes super-size, with little tiny numbers attached. But I don't, so I'll have to accept the sad fact that PITP pajamas run about $80 here, and they don't carry anything larger than a "large", which is way more like a "small". UGH! I did find a couple of nursing tanks (sorry for the TMI!) for about $25 each, which seemed a little on the pricey side for what they actually are, but priceless in comparison to wearing a hospital gown. Small but cute selection of other pregnancy needs. I'm giving Mimi Maternity 3 stars for meeting a need for average-sized pregnant women. (And I wanted to let my South Shore girls know there's one here!) But if your bra size was larger than a 40D before you were expecting, you'll be pretty frustrated by their stuff. Trust me. OK, tirade from a 7-month pregnant lady over. :0) *I had a super helpful salesgirl trying so hard to show me anything that she thought I could waddle my way into. No such luck, sweet pea. This is the one of the only maternity store for the south shore area and I will never be going…read moreback. Not only was the store completely disorganized and everything was picked over, but there was all of one person working. I went in looking for a bra, so I picked some out. I had asked for help with sizing but the girl, Sarah I think her name was completely ignored me. So I went to try them on and asked if i used any of the dressing rooms would be ok. She said sure so I just went into one. Apparently while I was in there they had "assigned" my room to someone. Even though my curtain was closed and you can clearly see under them, mine was open once by another patron and again my the sales person telling me I was in a reserved room. Needless to say I will never be going back there again.

I'm expecting my first baby in three months and so decided to pop into Sprout and About to snoop…read morearound for stuff for the baby. Once inside, the owner pointed me towards the maternity clothes and I forgot all about the kid! I've been putting off buying maternity clothes because it's kind of hard to get to excited to spend tons of money on clothes that I will only wear for three months, and I feel like a sausage.....which doesn't help. Anyway, even though there were only a few racks of clothes of each type (dresses, tops, pants), there was no picking through junk to find something good because it all looked good. All the clothes were in fanatastic shape and from big name stores like Motherhood and they were CUTE!!! I tried on piles of stuff and wound up with two great work skirts, a pair of jeans, two work appropriate dresses, and five shirts for $82! WOW. The baby and kid clothes looked nice, too, but I was in a hurry to make off with my score and go to Ocean State Job Lot to buy junk I don't need and food that only looks good under their flourescent lights and then is not so appealing at home. But I digress - if you are on a budget, need some maternity clothes that don't look like gramma's housecoat, and are in the South Shore area - check this place out!
